Payne-Corley House

As Mother of the Bride I could not have found a better place then the Payne-Corley House for our daughter's wedding. From the very first meeting to when we walked out the door after the reception, our daughter was treated like a queen. They listened to everything we suggested, gave suggestions and implemented it all together to make a perfect evening. The food was outstanding. All the guests were raving about the food! Krista, Mike, Jennifer and all the staff were wonderful. We also used the Park Cafe in downtown Duluth (owned by the same people as the Payne Corley House) for the Bridal Luncheon and highly recommend that facility. We are looking forward to our other daughter's wedding there in March 2010.

Our wedding was on Sunday evening and planned almost a year out. Krista and everyone at Payne Corley was always super helpful and on top of every question or concern that we had. After getting dressed on the wedding day and seeing the room, it far exceeded my expectations. Everything was beautiful and taken care of perfectly!! Now I just need some more of those shrimp and gritsThe food is wonderful. If you want to try it out, you can always eat at the Park Cafe (same Chef)for awesome dishes!! Everyone raved about the shrimp and grits though:) I wish I could have that party every weekend, they made us feel like a king and queen!!!! Thank you Krista and staff!

We had a wonderful time. Lori-Anne took care of every detail. I worried about nothing and enjoyed my special day. All of my guests were impressed with the location, staff, food. Overall, this place was wonderful. I am so glad we made the Payne Corley House our venue for our wedding. It was truely a beautiful day. Thank you so much!!!

I had my wedding there this past October and was very satisfied with everything! The service was great, the food was outstanding and the staff was so accomodating. Friends and family still talk about how fabulous the food was. Lori-Ann was my coordinator and she made the whole day worry free for me. The whole process was really painless! I highly suggest this location for any and all events.

After reading all the wonderful reviews for the Payne-Corley House in Duluth I made a reservation for my mom and our family for Mother's Day. She was so excited to go! The house was decorated beautifully but things went sour from the moment we sat down. It took about 10 minutes for our server to come greet us and ask for a our drink order. We tried to order mimosa's from the drink menu that was framed, and sitting on our table, but we were told they were not serving alcohol until 1230. Fine, but don't put a drink menu on the table if you can't order from it! We went through the multiple buffet lines and turns out most of the food was not heated properly and basically cold. We were sitting right by the kitchen so when we would see hot food come out we would run over to get some, but then it was still not warm. When we got to dessert, some of the desserts were frozen and impossible to eat. Overall we were extremely disappointed. The price did not at all support the quality and the service was horrible. I have to go back in a month for a wedding and I hope they step it up for that.

My friends, The Bakers, had their wedding there a few weeks ago and all I can say is, you must try this place. I've planned corporate holiday parties at many venues in Atlanta and I have to say, this is the best. The staff is great, the food is outstanding and the venue is beautiful. And from what the bride tells me - affordable. I would highly recommend them for any event under 200 people.

The Payne-Corley House is the perfect place for a wedding. The house and grounds are beautiful. The staff is so wonderfully amazing. They made me feel like a princess. Our coordinator was Lori-Ann; I enjoyed planning my wedding with her. She's so friendly and fun. The day of my wedding, the staff (Lori-Ann, Jennifer, Shane and all the others) was excellent. They are so attentive! We planned for an outdoor wedding. However, the weather didn't cooporate. It was not a problem for the amazing team at P-C House. They set up the chairs inside and put candles all around the room for an indoor ceremony. It was beautiful! After having an indoor ceremony, I can't even imagine what an outdoor ceremony would have been like. After the ceremony, within minutes, the tables were in place and beautifully decorated. The food is outstanding - the chef (Mike) does an amazing job. Shane made sure to give my husband and I large platters of the food during the reception - so we got to eat at our wedding! He was so attentive during the reception, making sure we weren't hungry and bringing us drinks before we realized we were thristy. Trust me, you do want to eat the food at P-C House. The whole staff at P-C House has a wonderful sense of humor and are so easy going. If I could do it again, I wouldn't change a thing!

I planned our holiday dinner for 40 people, the food, service, and atmosphere at the Magnolia Cottage was superb!! The event specialist, Lori-Ann Walker, did a wonderful job taking care of our every request. My co-workers all raved about the food and service and said it was the best holiday party we have had.

If you are looking for a small, stress-free wedding, in a perfect setting, with the best food you have found it here at the Magnolia Cottage! Krista was our event specialist and we didn't have to worry about one thing. The staff was amazing. The food was awesome. The personal attention that we received was just unbelieveable from the time we drove up til the time we drove away. Our guests are still talking about how 'perfect' everything was. Magnolia Cottage is a MUST for the couple looking for their dream wedding.
