Atlanta Marriott Marquis

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, GA on October 10th, 2008. During our stay our room was broken into and my wallet was stolen. According to Marriott ‘claims’ office I have been dismissed as someone who has misplaced their belongings. The fact that my room was broken into was cast out due too lack of evidence found by their incompetent security and staff.

My wife and I have enjoyed staying at the Marriott Marquis for years. Obviously, due to a breakdown in the security at the Marriott Marquis and the ineffectiveness and unwillingness of their staff to help us resolve this issue, we will not visit a Marriott facility again.

Over the past 15 years my wife and I have enjoyed Atlanta's diversity and the entertainment opportunities. Now that we have kids, we are scheduling more and more events in the city. Instead of banishing the city due to one bad experience with the Marriott Marquis, we will choose to use other facilities and share our discontent among our friends and family.

It is clear that the Marriott Marquis had no intentions in helping resolve our matter because of the initial deferment and the decline of any acceptance of responsibility thereafter.

Extremely friendly staff (everyone we encountered).

Internet access is not complimentary though. (If the cheap hotels offer it free, why don't the nice hotels)?

Very well sound-proofed rooms. Even from the 2nd floor during a very loud convention, we couldn't really hear anything outside the room.

The hotel lobby and other public areas seem nice but theirs rooms are so cheap-looking and mediocre. For the kind of hardware we got, I certainly think that it was over priced.

For my birthday this weekend, we stayed at the Marriott Marquis downtown. We have stayed at another nice hotel downtown recently, but the service at the Marriott couldn't be beat. The room was nice, spacious, clean, quiet with a great view to the north. Definitely will go again!! Thanks for a lovely birthday.

I booked a room at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta
for my aunt. The hotel was simply beautiful. The front desk personnel had excellent customer service skills which is hard to find these day.
