DEKALB TREE SERVICE

We lost a giant pine tree in a storm last month, and we were concerned that the roots of a larger pine right beside it had been damaged. We hired Dekalb Tree Service to remove the pine and grind the stump of the tree that had fallen. They gave us a fair estimate and seemed much more knowledgeable than the other guys we talked to.

The crew arrived earlier than promised, worked quickly, and cleaned up our yard beautifully. Our tree was in a fairly tight space between our house and three sets of power and cable lines, but it didn't faze them a bit. It was amazing to watch the guys in the trees work. (Our neighbor had a pine removed at the same time.)
While I did not enjoy spending a lot of money on tree removal, I thought it was worth every penny, and I'd hire them again in a second.

Keith came out to give an estimate when he said he would and was very cordial. The crew showed up on time and took all day for them to trim and remove trees working continuously. They frequently asked my opinion during the course of the day whether I was satisfied with the results. The yard looked cleaner when they were done than it ever has! A job very well done! I have used other tree services in the past, but I will be happy to call upon Dekalb Tree Service again and again!

Dekalb Tree Service had been recommended by friends and neighbors but went ahead and obtained some other estimates for comparison.
Keith was out on schedule to provide good advice and reasonable estimate.
I had a large old oak close to the house and with some valuable smaller trees and shrubs around it. Keith said his crew would be very careful and even put down plywood to protect the grass.
The crew, headed by Lamar and David, arrived on time and had my old 40 foot Oak tree down in 4 hours, even ground the stump! The crew did a great job, cleaned up as they went along and none of the smaller trees or bushes were damaged.

Excellent service! If another tree needs to come down, it will be Keith and the crew from DeKalb Tree Service!

I had a large oak tree close to the house with a 15 year old Japanese Maple under it, along with usual power lines and other obstacles. I was worried the Maple would be destroyed among other things. Those guys ROCK! Although we had to reschedule the time due to the holidays, they showed up ahead of schedule on the day selected, got the tree down, loaded up all wood, blew off the yard, the roof and scooped up all the sawdust - the yard looked better than when they arrived! I will absolutely use them again. Fair price and the tree guys knew what they were doing. The Maple was not damaged at all, nor were the surrounding bushes and what not.

I had a few estimates for a job at my home and decided to use this company because it seemed like they would do a good job and offered a fair price. When I called to set it up, I wanted to ask one question to the owner, who had done the estimate for me. I asked for him to call me back, waited a week, called back and asked for him to call me back again, and I never got a call. I was disappointed because he seemed like a good guy, but I ended up having to get more estimates and use somebody else. I'm sure he would've done a good job, but if I can't get a hold of him to set it, how can he get my business?
Later edit: Got an estimate for another well-reviewed company on Kudzu for $1200 less for exact same job.
