Although I paid for all of the work, not all of the work was completed. After numerous attempts to contact the owner, Wes, and sending him pictures of the incomplete work, he only returned a call after my Father contacted him. He was really irate that we had the nerve to try and contact him! The incomplete work for my home included replacement of doors and doorknobs, exterior rotten wood replacement, and damage caused by his workers to my pantry door trim. He blamed me for a missing door (his sub-contractor had removed the door and taken it from the house so I don't understand how that was my fault), and blamed my painters (who were not affiliated with his company), for the remaining incomplete work. Lastly, I was not able to use my garage for a week because he left trash in it while no one was there working (I paid for disposal). It was finally disposed of by his subcontractor and that was the last I saw of this company. Wes said he would only give me a refund for the missing door and rotten wood not being replaced. It has been almost two weeks and I have yet to receive any money, nor hear from him. The good news is the majority of the work did get done by other subcontractors of his. The bad news is that I will probably not get my money back for the incomplete work. I hired another company to complete the work. Never pay a contractor in full until the work is complete! A reputable contractor will never ask for full payment until a job is finished.
Installed and/or replaced hardwood floors, stair balusters and posts, light fixtures, doors, replace exterior rotten wood.
Cost $10,000 - $14,999
Date July 2016

I spoke to the guy regarding a basement remodel and he was downright unprofessional. I couldn't even get him to come out and give me an estimate. I scheduled a time for him to come out to my house and provide an estimate and he was a no show. I would never entrust any money with this guy if he's not even responsible enough or reliable enough to keep appointments. It was his loss not mine because I ultimately ended up going with Green Basements for close to a $60K job. Maybe that was too small of a job for him. I don't know.

Brought Wes in to fix some dental molding damage done by rodents as well as repair of a support column. Did excellent work. Later brought one of his framers in to buttress some attic supports who did it very professionally at a competitive price. Will gladly call on Wes again for my next project.

Ironhorse Remodeling just created a room in our basement. We were pleased from start to finish. Wes provided his proposal promptly, and it was very competitive. He answers all questions promptly via email or text and completed the job in 3 days, when we had expected it to take several more. He understood our expectations well, and more than met them. We wwould definitely recommend Ironhorse.

I had called to set up an appt for a quote at 9am this morning. I understand that the weather was questionable, but they never called to inform me that they were not coming out. I gave him over an hour to give me a call - and still nothing. Iron Horse will not be working on my home - and will not get any references to use them.

Finally, a business that is professional, knowledgeable and really wants to do a good job!, After a bad experience with another company I found on Kudzu, Ironhorse was a wonderful experience. I had a lot of little jobs that just needed a professional hand. Got that with Wes and Steve. I would highly recommend this company. They are now in my phone under "favorites".

We have been very pleased by Wes and his team. We had general handyman needs which were met with professionalism and care. Bill did a wonderful job with our our home. He was friendly and cleaned up nicely after he was finished. Thank you! Would certainly use them again!

I found Wes after reading the reviews of other customers. We had a tree fall on our deck in May after heavy rains. Wes gave us a quote and the work got started. Randall and Mike are a GREAT TEAM!! They showed up early each day and worked a full day. We are very pleased with their work and I would recommend them to anyone needing work done. We love our deck and it is build better than before! Many thanks to Wes, Randall and Mike.

Wes and his guys just wrapped up a large remodel project for us and did an outstanding job. This is the second project we have used Wes on and have been very pleased with both projects upon completion. I would highly recommend him for any project and will continue to use him in the future.

My husband and I recently moved into an older home that we wanted to completely renovate. We hired Wes based upon a recommendation from a friend who had work done by Wes a few years ago. Wes and his team completely transformed our little 1950's ranch style home into the most enjoyable, livable and elegant space. We loved working with Wes as he was not only patient with us and all of our demands :-) but was so informative, creative and ethical. Remodeling an entire house is no easy feat but Wes and his team made the process as smooth as they possibly could given the challenges that existed with such an older home. Thanks again Wes and team, we just love you guys and our new home!!

We had a a bathroom remodel done by Wes at Iron Horse remodeling. Everything started out fine, but a number of issues resulted in a poor experience and we would not recommend working with Wes. Communication - We expressed some disappointment during the tile portion of the project and we rarely heard from Wes. At one point we went 16 days without hearing from Wes. We emailed a reminder about our punch list and we thought Wes had abandoned the job, but apparently they were still waiting on some parts to come in. Response time - Many calls and texts went unanswered leaving us wondering about the status of our project. Responsibility - We felt the final responsibility should have been with Wes who our contract was with. Wes's subcontractor made all of the requests for payment and it seemed like after the first week Wes wasn't interested in anything but collecting checks. We refused to give final payment to the sub so we could share this feedback with Wes in person. Expectations of our availability - We would have expected to be briefed on most major decisions so we could make them ahead of time. Instead most of the subs had numerous questions throughout the project and we were lucky I was able to work from home and answer many. Project timing - Many of the issues were caused by Wes's lack of availability. We didn't realize when choosing the project date Wes's wife would be having a baby 2 weeks in. We would have preferred to plan our project at another time.

I hired Wes because of all the positive feedback I read on this website and his price was reasonable. He also wrote in his contract that work would be completed in 14 to 21 working days, which I knew was impossible but admired his ambition. The lack of coordination between him and his workers was astounding. I gave him a very clear drawing of the cabinet layout, floor tile layout, and fireplace layout. Yet, the tile installer still managed to lay the tile wrong in the kitchen and asked questions about the hearth layout as if he never saw the drawing. The cabinet installer didn't have a copy of the cabinet layout and had to uninstall the trash cabinet and sink base to move them after I provided him the layout. The electrician had to come out a third time after I mentioned that the pendant lights still hadn't been installed. The worst part was that after seven weeks of "work", my kitchen was not even close to being done, my brand new appliances sat collecting dust for weeks and most of the trash and debris was left in the condo the whole time. My place was uninhabitable for 3 months. After threatening to fire them, Wes offered to paint my place for free. I accepted the offer which added another two and a half weeks to a job that could have been done in 2 days. The end result was what I wanted, (minus the floor tile layout), but the journey there was incredibly painful.

Turnaround time for receiving a quote was very reasonable for the finishing of a basement bedroom. I was also pleased with the professionalism of the construction crews. Overall quality of the finished product was excellent. Would recommend for consideration.

Wes and his crew did an excellent job on the project. Wes came out to assess the damages done to my foundation. His crew came out early Saturday and hand dug trentches around the area (this saved me). They repaired the area and applied waterproofing. The crew came back a few days later after the waterproofing had dried, to apply additional coats. After Wes final inspection, I was signed, seal and delivered. Great fast job guys.

Wes responded swiftly with an estimate and provided excellent communication throughout the project. He and his team ripped out our decaying porch, assessed the inherent damage (90 year-old home), proposed a plan to both stabilize the porch and accommodate our wants/needs, and ultimately exceeded our expectations with his craftsmanship. We had to compromise the original plan because of someone's previous poor construction, and Wes' solution was way better than our original plan. The only negative was that project took a little longer than we had expected... even when taking into account the unforeseen adjustments and reinforcements. Our only inconvenience, however, was having to board our dog during the project. Wes and crew made up for it by repairing a random problem area on our back deck without me even asking them. We'll definitely use Wes again and again and again.
