Decksource did an absolutely spectacular job on extending my deck and building a deck enclosure. They did it quickly and the workmanship was perfect and I would highly recommend this company over any other in the Atlanta area . Sam was very attentive and very easy to work with.

A bit late on my review, but wanted to make sure Sam Honea and team got the credit they deserve. Decksource gave me a competitive quote and quick installation timeline for a 15x22 foot pergola. We've gotten nothing but positive comments from everyone that has come by the house, and we plan to work with Decksource on some other improvements in the future.

I needed to replace my deck, and wanted a larger one. I contacted five different companies for bids. Three other companies came out and submitted bids. Of the first three, two gave me what I consider to be inflated bids, wanted a substantial down payment to start or a fee to simply design the project (hoping this would lock in my business, I suppose). I was told that I would have to have a different configuration for the steps due to code, and that was going to raise the price. These companies advertise heavily, and if you are just doing a search they will be at the top of the list. I would advise against using them unless you have a large budget . While they may build a fine deck, you are being soaked. My last bid was from DeckSource. from the beginning, I had trust in them. Sam came out, examined the site, discussed what I wanted, and within a few minutes had a bid for me. The bid from DeckSource was substantially less than the other companies. I was amazed. They handled all the permitting, gave me an accurate estimate of when they would start to work, and within less than three weeks, had supplies delivered on site. I had a couple of special requests, and they were glad to accommodate. In just two days, they had removed the old deck and built the new, larger one. Beautiful work. I cannot speak highly enough of this company, they do an excellent job and really look after their customers. A+++

The person that did our screened porch has results that look good but the roof leaks and has for quite a while. John Bean represented himself as part of DeckSource, and was as a sub. John Bean was very difficult to work with since he doesn't like anyone asking questions about how or what is being done. Several customers and supervisors at DeckSource confirmed the problem working with customers and they felt it best to not use him any more. Roof is leaking a slow leak into the house and he said " I told you I was not doing anymore work for you". Don't suggest using John Bean for anything. Craig from DeckSource informed me that he and DeckSource stands behind their work and I believe him. John Bean is an independent contractor and is not a licensed contractor. He has to work under a contractor. Roof expert checked the roof that John Bean and said the roof was as though it was done by someone that that didn't know how to build a roof. Flashing missing and mis installed, shingles with nails driven through them no underlayment or badely installed. In general just a bad job on the roof.

We are struggling to understand why you would post this review on DeckSource's Kudzu page. This has zero relevance and in no way has anything to do with DeckSource. This is a review of an independent individual in which you had a contract. This was completely between you and him. I wish you had called us to bid the work. As you can see from our previous reviews, I think you would have been much happier had you had DeckSource do the project. This particular contractor you hired has worked for us in the past in our home builder division but never on our individual homeowner projects. We have specialty crews for those situations. In the construction world, if someone is half the cost, there is a reason. As they say, "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten". With that said, I always hate to hear about situations like this. It does nothing good for our industry. We strive for 100% satisfaction on all of our projects and stand behind our work. This is why you putting a review from another contractor on our page is so puzzling.
We would like to provide some clarity and context by sharing an email we received from the reviewer the day he wrote the review.
"Subject: John Bean - won't honor warranty

John Bean built our deck and screened porch. He was working for you at the time. He told me he could do our deck and porch for half what you charged. He built the deck and a few months later came back and built the porch on the deck.
He did the roof tie in to the existing roof on the house. We have had a problem with the roof ever since he finished it. I now find water is getting into the house from where he tied tho porch to the existing roof. I called John Bean and he told me that he wasn't about to come back to our house and do any more work for me. John Bean was very difficult to work with while he was building the deck and porch. Only put up with him because he was half the price of your company building the deck and porch. If I had known then what I know now, I would never have him do any work for me. Since he won't fix what he messed up, I need a good roof person to fix the problem he caused. Can you recommend some roofer to look at my roof and fix it?
I am not upset with your company, only with John Bean for the way he has treated myself and my wife.
Would not recommend him for any job if I had to deal with his personality.

Note that DeckSource happily provided some references for roofing specialists for this gentleman.
We had a great experience with DeckSource. Friendly, efficient, and quality service all the way around. We are very pleased with our new pergola on top of our existing deck. I recommend this company to anyone considering a new deck, porch, arbor, etc. Thanks for a job well-done!

DeskSource was efficient, the quality was super high and the workers were kind and very respectful of not only my property but my neighbors... even showed concern that they'd be parking in front of a neighbor's house. I let them lead the way in determing the design and what the came up with was a perfect fit for my home and backyard. The attention to detail in both design and construction was marvelous. They also worked seamlessly with the city building inspector. They took time to use a router on edges that I would have never thought mattered and they went beyond what was required by code to make sure the deck is super strong. Very, very pleased.
Back deck, roughly 15 feet up from ground level, large.

I had their representative come out for a bid. We were given an oral bid. About 4 weeks later we realized we had not received a written bid. I called, left a message to ask for the bid in writing. It has been about 2 weeks, no return call, no written bid. 10/17/2016 received a call today and sent the bid.

After contacting other companies we chose to go with DeckSource because their attention to detail was apparent from our initial quote request. When we purchased our house there was a hideous tiny orange deck on the back with no stairs to the backyard. We could barely fit our grill and a few chairs. Now we have a huge outdoor living space, with plenty of room to grill, enjoy the backyard views, let the kids play and easy access to the backyard with a nice set of stairs which includes a double landing. we added a larger/wider handrail on one side of the deck to work as a bar or place to hold drinks. If you can't tell we love being outside and entertaining. This new addition to our house was perfect and we could't be more pleased.

We bought a new home in Alpharetta and Deck Source was the contractor who installed our deck. The quality of the workmanship is awful. We have many boards that were not cut straight, there are bolts in the supports that are not even close to being centered, there are large gaps in the joints, cut marks on some boards. Simply put, Deck Source did a horrible job and they are unwilling to come back and address. Our only recourse is to notify other home owners of our deep displeasure with this company Update - 10/4/16: We spoke with the developer on several occasions, they've been consistent in their message that this is not a "warranty issue"; that the cosmetics of the deck are not included. Furthermore, we spoke with a Deck Source representative yesterday. The told me that I ought to contact the sales department and that they'd be happy to come out and give me a bid for "fixing" my deck. Our beef remains the level of "craftsmanship" that was used to build the deck. Decking was installed upside down, boards were short, many cuts were not square, bolts were not centered, etc. The length of time since the completion is not a factor as the quality of work remains the same.

First off, I would like it to be known that this reviewer has never contacted us. From the images, this deck appears to be one built for one of our builder customers. It was built using materials specified by the homebuilder. Standard/builder grade decking, especially when not sealed, will shrink, warp and split as seen in the images of this nearly year old deck. It should be noted that the builder has quality control walks prior to the home closing. There are homeowner orientation walks prior to the home closing along with a 30-day walk after move in. This gave you an opportunity to address any issues you may have had and the builder would have had them addressed at that time. Yet you signed off on a form stating you were happy with the house, including the deck. It is obvious from the images and the fact that you have a complaint a year later that this is normal weathering of standard/builder grade materials. Otherwise, these issues would have been brought up at closing by you or the quality control rep. In any event, as this deck was built for a homebuilder, any issues you have with the deck should be brought to the builder's attention and they will contact us if there is a warranty issue. At that point, if you feel that you were not treated fairly from the builder you should have contacted us directly. That would have been the honorable and moral thing to do. Especially before writing a review saying, "They are unwilling to come back and address". That is simply misleading and untrue. If folks read your other reviews, I think they will come to their own conclusions. As for us, I believe our other reviews and "best of" awards speak for themselves.
I had several companies come to the house and provide estimates. I selected DeckSource for the job and now that it is complete I have no regrets. DeckSource's price was very competitive and they were able to offer higher quality materials than some of their competitors at the same price point. When I spoke, they listened. DeckSource accommodated all requests and they also recommended technical solutions that were aesthetically pleasing. Two project managers were in constant contact with me during the process, keeping me informed of the progress being made and we frequently reviewed design decisions. The project managers were on the job-site daily and were aware of all work being accomplished. My family looks forward to many years of using our new deck and highly recommends DeckSource for your project.
DeckSource removed an old smaller deck from my home and replaced it with a large 650 square-foot deck. This included a Trex decking solution with hidden fasteners, custom hand railing, and an under-deck system.

Sam and the team brought our 'vision' to life! The accessibility and openness to new ideas mid project and being able and willing to adjust while still hitting our deadline was very impressive. We are super satisfied with the result and could not be happier. We highly recommend Decksource if you have a custom project the you want to make reality. Thanks Sammy!!

Craig and his team at DeckSource did a great job building an arbor/pergola over my existing townhouse deck. Not only did I get an estimate quickly, they also provided the level of detail required for the home owner association to review and approve. Construction took less than a day. I need to wait until the new wood weathers a bit, then onto staining. I'm very happy with DeckSource and highly recommend them.

I had a back deck (12x16) that was approx. 15-25years old, and had a narrow row of scary stairs and was rotting. Not to mention, it's about 10 -12 feet off the ground. The posts were 4x4's, set IN the concrete, and the concrete was cracked...it was a MESS! I had a previous company come out and quote me an OUTRAGEOUS price for the exact same footprint of our existing deck and stairs! My husband and I felt defeated, that we were not going to be able to afford a new back deck for years. I did some research online, (kudzu, Yelp, etc) and found that DeckSource not only, had stellar reviews, but looked at pictures of previous jobs, had been in business for a long time, and gave them a call. I worked with a guy named Sam. He came out, (in the snow!) measured and pointed out some issues we had with our deck. A few days later, we had our quote and I couldn't believe what a great price it was and the promptness. We kept the same deck size, but moved the stairs, added a double landing, had the stairs change direction, and end under the deck, were we can have a nice sitting area. They also added new flashing, 6x6 posts, made a custom railing, and brought everything up to code! It not only looks amazing, but they had almost everything done in a day. The crew was great, I trusted them enough to leave my house for a few hours both days, and i had to leave my garage/basement area open and unlocked! 10 stars! Sam, DeckSource, thank you a MILLION times! We will recommend you to everyone!
Back deck redo/upgrade. There aren't caps on the 6x6's because my husband and I wanted to get either metal or solar powered light caps. Also, in the pictures, there is quite a bit of mud, but it just stormed last night and we have 2 Great Danes that love playing in the "lovely" GA red clay, we all know!

After having Craig and his crew do a complete deck and addition last year to my complete satisfaction, I had them redo my front staircase that was falling apart. They did an outstanding job and it looks great!

This company was great to work with! They came right out after calling for an estimate on my deck that was damaged in a storm. They also gave me a quote on having my roof done. They were very willing to work with me on any aspect of this whole project. Everyone I dealt with at Decksource was pleasant, professional and went above and beyond to help me. The amount they quoted didn't change, no surprises and the quality of the work done was great. The city inspector said the deck and roof both passed "with flying colors" and knew who did it by the quality of the work. My new deck is beautiful and I like the added, included touches that come from an obviously experienced deck builder. I would definitely recommend this company and plan to use them again in the future. P. M. in Kennesaw
