Uncaring and not trustworthy
Several months ago I witnesses a stray dog get hit by a car. I immediaty rushed the dog to the only open vet that I knew of which was "Pets Are People Too". I was being what I thought was a concerned citizen and hope and pray that if my dog was injured without me around someone would do the same for her. The vet and staff would not touch the dog (even though it was in extreme pain) without a check for $2000!!! I offered to pay for initial treatment to help make the dog comfortable while I searched for his owner, but this was not acceptable. They would not do anything to help the dog unless I paid IN ADVANCE for all surgeries nesessary or not and they knew that I was simply a bystander trying to do the right thing!
Please do not use them even in an emergency! I have never seen a veternary so incompassionate as "Pets are People too"!!!!

Dr. Mathis a great Vet
I have used Pets are People Too for 19 years, ever since I moved to Atlanta. They have always taken great care of me and my dogs. First it was Dr. Simmons with my late dog and now Dr. Mathis takes care of my two Bostons. I have read some of the reviews and they are right on some things. Some of the staff does not have compassion down, but most of them seem to have left. Dr. Mathis has always returned my phone calls and been very good in not suggesting outrageous test. However when I have had to go when she was not there, I have been told I needed a lot of things I thought were unnecessary. I have always mentioned this to Dr. Mathis and she has always taken care of it. The important thing is to develop a relationship with the vet and insist on seeing the same vet every time. You have to insist.

Taken Advantage Of
I feel taken advantage of by Pets Are People Too. I took my dog here in an emergency situation (there was blood in his urine) and he was diagnosed with a urinary infection and the prescribed him an antibiotic. Turns out I paid 150 dollars for a 10 day supply of antibiotic. I took him to my usual vet the next day and was told they could have prescribed a similar, generic antibiotic for $15 dollars. I paid 10 times as much for the medication simply because it was an emergency situation - I feel like they took advantage of my emotional state. I will be looking into an alternative for emergency care.

still deciding
My experience at Pets are people too was average. I was taken back for an assessment fairly quickly, the vet tech and vet were gentle with my cat. My cat was having bloody diarrhea and put on medication, however, i was never really given an answer as to what was actually wrong with her. Unfortunately she is still sick, so i will have to bring her back in to get more medication.

Horrible & Insensitive
I took my 14 yr old cat here because he had digestive issues that were diagnosed as feline megacolon. The first time I took him in I was given medication and tried several times to contact a doctor to get advice because it wasn't working but no one would call me back. Several months later I took him in again for the same issues - they did all the tests again (each visit was over $600). They put him on more medicine and told me to come back in a month. A month later (May 2007) I went back in and the only choice was to put him to sleep. I understand the choice - but as I'm crying my eyes out with my husband and hugging my poor scared kitty - the vet tech comes in the room to tell us how much it is going to cost. He didn't even seem to notice that I was very emotional and was completely insensitive given the situation. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
