Avoid it.., 7/14/2011

Avoid it..go to an orthopadist(M.D-Ortho) instead. They treats you like a cash machine, suggesting procedures like surgery which would make them more money. Also they try to pass on to you braces/foot... supports which you can get online for 20-30$ for 4-5 times more price,as they would plan to bill your insurance and in most cases insurance declines to pay for them. Pls confirm with ur insurance before you go with their recommendations about foot braces/supports,else you would end up with a big hole in your wallet. Seriously this place could do with some more smiles and care for patients as people and not as walking insurance holders to be billed to the max. Was quite disappointed with the village podiatry group. :-(

I'm so glad I found a podiatrist who put my fears at ease and finally gave my tired feet the relief they need! Kudos Dr. Raphael & staff!

Best Experienxce Yet!

I highly recommend Dr. Allen Raphael - he is highly knowledgable and isn't hastened to go on to the next patient. His bedside manner is among the best I've witnessed. I enjoyed my visit.

Don't use them, they are there to sell products

I saw Dr. Raphael, he was good in what he do, that is selling costly stuff to patient. I appreciate him taking time to explain the working of foot, which I had already gone through on internet, but them he tried selling 3 overpriced items, which I could get for less than 1/2 price online. I took 2 items as they mentioned insurance is going to cover it and declined to take one item. All was good, and then after 1 month I am getting this bill for the item I declined. The whole Emory Adventis hospital where these people are also located is a total rip off place. They have got the worst doctors and they try to rip you off every time you visit them. I always had bad experience. This was my last visit to them. Period.

Demand an itemized bill for your treetment.

After seeing Dr. Mark Snyder for an ingrown toenail he recommended orthotic inserts for my shoes. I was given a paper to sign that said the maximum to be paid for the orthotic inserts would be $400.00. A person at the office called my insurance prior to the fitting and I was told that the orthotics would be covered by my insurance. I paid $240 out of pocket for the orthotics. The insurance was billed $950 for the orthotics and paid $212. That is $452 paid for the devices. (Note that custom orthotics are available for $150 a pair over the Internet) An entire year transpires and I hear nothing from Village Podiatry. Over a year after taking delivery of the orthotics Village Podiatry Group sends me bills for a “remaining balance of $200. I called several times and even went to the office with a pile of papers to straighten this out. I was told that they would turn my bill over to collections because I asked them to provide and itemized invoice for the fourth time. I am afraid that this will have to be taken to small claims court to resolve it. If you have no other choice than to go to these doctors, don’t leave without a code itemized bill and receipts for all your payments or you could find yourself being treated for a second round of invoices and rudely threatened with collections.
