Second Time Around
We finished our second renovation with Todd last fall. He completed a major basement build out. We previously had our kitchen and a small bath and laundry room renovated by Todd and his crew of skilled sub contractors. You can see our comments dated 11/22/10 about that job earlier on this site.
I can say we have really enjoyed our new kitchen. It is still a joy to use and we still get many compliments on it.
In some ways though the basement renovation was an even more difficult project for Todd to work on. Our home is older and had an unusual basement configuration and we did not have an architectural plan for Todd to build from. This turned out well since Todd’s plan was great. He had ideas we never thought of. The plan in turn became a first class finished project. Our basement is now referred to as the “terrace level”. Shortly after the job was finished the holidays came and with the holidays a lot of guests. I don’t know how we would have handled them all without the new terrace level. Once again I want to compliment the subs who for the most part were the same team that built out our kitchen. The basment required major HVAC installation work and that sub contractor did a fine job as well. So after two extensive renovation projects we still give our heartiest recommendation for Todd and his crew.

Beautiful Finished Basement
We are so pleased with the job that Todd did finishing our basement. He had ideas that we never thought of, which made great use of the space we have. Todd is professional. Add ons were in the price quote so there were no surprises. The workmanship is high quality. He worked within the time line he told us. We definitely recommend Creating Space and will certainly use them again in the future if we have any other projects. The Chandlers

A contractor you can trust
Creating Space did a fantastic job finishing our basement. My wife and I were so pleased that we have made several referrals to friends since completion of the project. Instead of writing the entire story of our basement project I'm just going to provide a bulleted list of why we liked Todd and his team.
* honest - Their bid was very accurate and I felt very comfortable throughout the project despite my ignorance of construction.
* flexible - I lost my job in the middle of the project. Todd was understanding and paused until I could re-start the project.
* reliable - I cannot emphasize how important this is. Contractors are legendary for being unreliable but Creating Space was VERY reliable.
* workmanship - They didn't cut corners and when I pointed out issues they were quickly resolved.
* transparent - Very good at providing options and explaining the costs and benefits of each without being pushy. He even invited me to visit two basement projects in progress so that I could see his work before signing the contract.
As with all projects, the plans changed as we decided to upgrade certain elements (trey ceilings, crown moldings, wetbar, tile design) and scratch others (workout room remained unfinished). We even relocated the bathroom at the last minute! Todd did a great job of helping us to minimize the price impact by suggesting cost-effective options along the way. If I ever finish another basement I will definitely use Creating Space again.

Very Pleased!
We were very pleased with our basement remodel. Todd is very professional, did what he said he would do, and did a great job of communicating with us throughout the process. The quality of work was superb and we got a great value for the money spent.
One thing I especially appreciated was that Todd did not skimp on our allowances and his pricing on the invariable add-ons was reasonable. This sets him apart from any other contracting business we have worked with.
We have already referred two friends to Creating Space- the best sign of a satisfied customer!

Creating Space did an excellent job! A++++
Todd and Gabe did a terrific job in remodeling our basement. They always showed up on time, and finished on time. The work was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. The basement came out great. From the removal of walls to the installation of the bathroom, HVAC, and bar area, we were very happy with the results and we would highly recommend Todd and Gabe.
