I read about Dr. Hirsh because I was considering stem cell treatment for my dog. I drove all the way from Woodstock and couldn't have been more pleased with the consultation. He ultimately explained to me that my dog's issue was not cartilage related, but rather bone related. He could have easily made thousands off of me but instead steered me in to a direction of an orthopedic vet. The consultation was free and lasted about 45 minutes in duration. He brought out skeletal models of the canine knee and dumbed it down for me enough to follow on the x-rays. I almost felt guilty when he refused to take any compensation for his time. I will recommend him to everyone I know who lives in the metro Atlanta area; that is how much I thought of his caring and educated demeanor. Another thing I appreciated about his office, especially in the day an age where doctors and vets alike try to turn and burn clients in order to squeeze in as many as possible, is that the lobby was virtually empty and my appointment schedule was adhered to without issue. Great visit overall.

We used to board our pets at this vet/boarder. We don't go there anymore because they didn't have Sunday pet pick up. Most people when boarding pick up their pets Sunday. They had it set up so if you got back to town on Sunday, you had to wait to pick up your pet plus pay an extra day until Monday. Also, we boarded our dog and let them know our dog has separation anxiety and gets red itchy skin. It is pretty normal. The boarder tried to have the vet give him shots while we were gone and stick us with an un-approved vet bill. We refused it and never went back. We now use pet sitters in our own home.

Responsive, informative, caring. Never laughs at me for being a neurotic doggie Mom - he understands when I'm worried and always answers my questions. My dogs receive the best care. The staff is terriric!

We've been very pleased as well. Dr. Hirsh, his team of vets and their staff have been great with our cat, who has kidney problems. They were especially compassionate last year when we thought we were going to lose him. Their dedication and Dr. Hirsh's care actually restored his kidney levels to where they were prior to the crash. When we thought we'd have to move away for a career change, we were worried about finding a vet as good as Dr. Hirsh and his team. Also, since it's been commented on so much, I want to add I don't think their prices are any more expensive than any other vet I've been too. In any case, you get what you pay for.

Staff is very knowledgeable and Dr. Hirsh is an excellent DVM. He saved my cat's life 3 years ago when Dr. Weigner owner of The Cat Doctor just down the steet on Roswell Rd. was going to let my cat die. My cat is 17 now and doing just fine thanks to Dr. Hirsh's twice a week IV fluid treatments that brought him back to life and is keeping him healthy to this day. Thank you Veterinary Center of Buckhead!!!

I worked for Lance for almost 3 years, as a veterinary technician. So I can give you some insight into the man, his practice and his medicine. I have also worked at 6 other clinics around the Atlanta area, and currently work at a clinic in north Cobb. I'm telling you this so you know that when I say I trust Lance over all the other doctors I personally know and have worked with, that you can trust my opinion. He is a caring, intelligent, cautious, reasonable, and highly skilled doctor and a good man as well. From what I have personally seen at other clinics in Marietta, Buckhead, Midtown, Dunwoody, Gwinett, and Roswell his prices are not out of line with others at all. Sure you can find a cheaper doctor to work with your pets, but what kind of medicine are you going to be getting? I have witnessed some real and true sins committed by doctors that are trying to cut costs instead of really doing what is best for the patient, Lance does not work this way. The patient always came first, and thats an important thing to remember. I can highly recommend the Veterinary Center of Buckhead, and Dr. Lance Hirsh particularly if you want stellar care for your pets. Charlie

Dr. Hirsh is actually a very nice, gentle guy. However, I have found that he charges too much as compared to my current vet. I also felt that he doesn't fully explain things, more specifically the consequences of things. He may tell you something and expect you to figure out what that may mean in terms of future consequences. He also took urine directly from my dog through a tube when he could have just sent us home and had us bring in a sample-(of course MY fee for taking the sample was $O) There was no urgent rush on a urine sample. He also charges full price for every little visit even though it's for the same thing. Nice guy but I think he should put some thought into trying to make his services more reasonably priced for his patients' owners
