Our 4 year old daughter had a great birthday party here last weekend. Each child rode twice and had a great time. This is a great experience for the kids and much different from the standard... birthday party that we are all used to.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I looked at this stable for our horse. The stable was very dirty. The lack of turn out for the horses was concerning to me. I was also concerned at how dark the stalls were. Our horse is light... colored but I'm not sure if we would've found our horse in any of those stalls. They were pitch black.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I have been at East Cobb Stables for about a year now and it's been the the best of the other barns I've been to. The owners there are very friendly and will work with you to get things done. The trainers at ecs are also very friendly and won't push you to do something you aren't comfortable doing. I take lessons here and have probably learned more here than anywhere else. I have also been to some shows and can say that showing with ecs is all about having fun. Some of the horses here have been rescued and have been trained to trust and love people again, they are very safe and bombproof. The horses at ecs get spoiled every single day, and they deserve it. Overall, I think East Cobb Stables is the best barn in Cobb County!

My daughter learned to ride at East Cobb Stables. She took part in the ECS horse shows and traveled to shows locally with the riding team from East Cobb Stables. She now rides for a University team and is one of the best on the team. The education she received (9yrs old to 17yrs old)riding at East Cobb Stables keeps her a step above most other riders. Many thanks to the owners for their dedication and generosity;for sharing their beautiful horses with the citizens of East Cobb. I highly recommend this facility for anyone young or old who wants to learn to ride on safe, unmedicated, rescued, beautiful horses. Competitively priced and conveniently located. GREAT PLACE!!
Just by the way, the most previous "nice" review writers were told to write the reviews by the owner of the barn because of all the TRUE bad reviews. This barn sucks! The people who show at local shows have to work atleast 2 hours a week there to be on the team. EVEN BOARDERS!! You can't just hang out with your horse, the owner of the barn will make you do stalls, put poop in the dumpster, muck out muddy pastures, water horses, rake the barn, or sweep. All the horses are malnourished and are unhealthy! They are run into the ground until they can no longer work. The trainers don't make you work if you are a good rider and don't push you. There are only about 4 lesson horses for about 15 lessons a day, 7 days a week. My advise DO NOT go to this filthy barn! It is also infested with rats! Every where you go, you see rats! I rode at this barn for about a two months and it has been the worst experience around horses in my life! They don't do rated shows and only local shows about once every 3 months! Board is $525 a month for no grass pastures, a ridiculously small arena, VERY small stalls and crappy tack. Board should be at the most $300 a month. I was looking to board my pony here (that's why I was taking lessons), but trust me, Fortitude Farm and Patchwork is SOOOO much better! Do not go to this barn!
i have been riding here for 7 years and it is amazing. i've been to many barns in my life and this is the only barn i have come back to because of its loving and laid-back atmosphere. east cobb has come a long way since its beginning and we are continuing to make improvements everyday. every child that walks into the barn is greeted by an instructor or worker and is welcomed into the family-oriented barn. it is a place you can visit and create life-long bonds with not only the horses, but also the people there. almost all of east cobb's horses were rescued from unloving and uncaring homes and everyday the owner and barn girls work to gain trust in them and eventually make them into kid-friendly lesson and show horses. the owner is the most dedicated person i know and strives to take care of her horses everyday. she is out in the facility in any weather and her one priority is to provide her horses with the best quality care she can. i would strongly recommend this barn because of its welcomely atmosphere and love and dedication for the horses and children who ride here.
I would just like to first say that the reviews of this place being "disgusting" are completely false. I have been riding at this barn for many years and have to say it is a great place to ride. The atmosphere is great for families. Also i have done many pony rides there with kids i babysit and have reccommened families to come here for birthday parties and they all have had wonderful times. All of the horses are well taken care of , the owner ALL the time puts the horses before herself. So to anyone who is saying the owners have no idea what their doing, i would like to see you run a barn with 15 horses for day? The owner knows what she doing period.
Seriously? This place is a functioning business? This place is a danger to all horses and customers/students. Unkept, poor conditions and the owners are senseless. My family witnessed a birthday party here and there were students taking lessons, 3 riders in a half sized arena of mud. The facility is condemnable. If you choose to go here, I'll be te first to say I told you so!
All my family can say is stay away. The place is disgusting, dirty and a rip off. We have had birthday parties at other barns when we lived in Tennessee and we know what it's supposed to be like and this certainly was not it. Don't believe the obviously owners self written reviews below, very far from the truth. We are trying to file a claim with the BBB now. Just pathetic.
I did not have fun. My child did not have fun. we left because the buildings are not designed for small kids and dirty. parking not easy either
Hi - I just had my daughter's 5th birthday party at East Cobb Stables. It was a BLAST! And it even rained almost the entire party. We had 20 kids. I highly recommend the package deal. There were 2 beautiful horses that the kids rode - and the kids got to ride as many times as they wanted to. We also had the cotton candy machine, spin art station and a huge moonwalk. I brought my bubble machine and gave each kid a cowboy hat and bandana. For those who give bad reviews saying the place is muddy...what do you expect - it's a horse stable! And it is the perfect setting for a birthday party. We will definitely be back. Thank you East Cobb Stables!
EC Stables advertises pony rides on Wednesdays from 2 - 3. I took my daughter (almost 4 years old) to ride. It was $8 and she wasn't even on the horse for 2 minutes. My daughter wasn't the least bit afraid and was very calm, so I couldn't understand why the ride was so ridiculously short, and wished I had inquired prior to the ride as to the length of time. Also, it wasn't a pony, it was a horse. On the plus side, the horse was very calm and sweet (an old horse), and I didn't feel nervous about my daughter being on it. The girl that assisted us was ok - definitely not very friendly though. I felt this should have been a much better experience. All in all, my daughter loved her very brief ride, but was terribly disappointed when she had to get off the horse so quickly. My friend also went and her daughter was too afraid to ride the "big horse" (the only horse/pony they had to offer for rides) and they made her pay the $8 anyway. Crazy! I was thinking of having a birthday party here in the near future, VERY glad I checked the place out beforehand (and read the other reviews about birthday parties).
We love ECS. It's a family barn and the kids really feel welcome. Instructors are great and are so knowledgeable of horses and instruction. No mandatory group lessons here - you get one on one with the instructor every lesson.
We love the people at East Cobb Stables. You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover - it's a little barn with alot of heart. The kids are wonderful and very helpful. It is a family barn where you can have your kid experience horses and true friendships. The trainers love the horses and kids and are extremely knowledgeable.
This was a terrible experience from beginning to end. It was our daughter’s seventh birthday. East Cobb Stables was not prepared when we arrived despite re-confirming two days prior (rain or shine). The children had nothing to do while the horse (singular) was saddled (approximately 30 minutes of the two hour party) and the children were not allowed to leave the pavilion. The pavilion was filthy and unsanitary with bags of horse bedding stacked in the food serving area along with standing rain water on the serving counter, table and chairs. The tables and chair were dirty and there was no help cleaning. This was not a ‘hosted’ event. The single horse and handler for ten children was not enough. The handler was unable to manage the horse while helping the child mount the horse and a parent had to be pulled away from corralling the other children in the pavilion to help. In desperation to give the children something to do gifts were opened while the riding continued which meant some children didn’t get to see their gift opened or provide the recipient the ability to offer thanks. Nobody was allowed to play with their toys because it would scare the horses. We had to remain until all the parents arrived to pick up their children and restlessness continued. This was a terrible experience from beginning to end.
