Totally disappointing!!!!
Based on excellent reviews for this business on Kudzu, I scheduled an AC tune-up appointment with Barron's. David and Raymund showed up and started work on internal and external units. Here is what they didn't do
- Barron's tune-up doesn't include new filter for the air-handler. They replaced filter with my spare filter
- Their tune-up doesn't include any unit clean up such as washing outdoor coil.
- Their tune-up doesn't include coil inspection. My AC's outdoor coil was not inspected.
- they don't read Amps on outdoor unit
- they don't measure temperature of cool air at the supply vents.

What they do is
- kind of visual inspection but not everything.
- read Freon charge. if they read Freon charge low be careful with the price. They'll tell you price for per pound not an estimated cost based on what they read from the gauge. I was charged $180 for 6 pounds Freon which only costs $6-$8 per pound. And since I was told only per pound price I just thought that my unit needs around 1 pound Freon charge. If I was told my unit may require 2-3 pounds Freon I wouldn't accept this service for an AC system which is been suspected with freon leak.
And don't tell them you think about new system otherwise your tune-up will turn out a sales call.
I don't understand how come this type of business would be appreciated that much on Kudzu.

Our $49 check-up involves a 12-step inspection of all moving components and wiring. We do change air filters, which are supplied by the home owner. The home owner supplies the filter because there are so many different types filters and sizes that we cannot possibly carry every single kind. The filters cost up to $15 dollars, depending on which one is required. Having the home owner supply the filter saves the customer additional cost. The check-up does not include cleaning condensers and coils. If we think the condenser and coil need to be cleaned, we will tell you, and you can decide whether you want the work done. A $56 service call will get us out to you to diagnose problems. After we figure out the problem, we can give you an estimate of what the repair will cost. When we recommend adding Freon to your unit, we weigh it and will show you how much we’ve added. Freon retails at $30/lb, not $6-$8. Overcharging, adding extra costs, etc, are not the way we do business. We are committed to being transparent, doing the job right, and keeping our customers. Unfortunately, you can't always make everybody happy. This customer was offered a leak detection and declined.

I would definitely recommend to others!
Jerry is a stellar technician. We contacted Barron's to install a new hvac system and heat pump. Barron's had the most reasonable price, Jerry was out every day, answering our numerous, numerous questions on the system, he troubleshot the problems that arose in a timely fashion, and most importantly, Jerry did it all with the most excellent customer service I have come across recently, and he was incredibly responsive to all of our texts, emails and phone calls. I will be recommending Barron's (specifically, Jerry), to others.

Honest, professional service.
The technician was very personable and professional. He gave an honest assessment of our heating system, and performed the repairs for a good price. We will definitely call Barron for all future repairs on our heating and AC.

Great customer service
I was very pleased with the service I received from Barron's. Jerry came out on a Sunday. He worked hard in the attic and outside in the heat and humidity until the unit was working. Very reliable and trustworthy.

Great Customer Service!
Our Air was not cooling our downstairs floor and it was causing our upstairs unit to overcompensate which meant it never turned off! I searched kudzu for a reputable Heating and air company and decided on Barron's based on their glowing reviews. David, himself, came out to our house (right on time) and was very friendly and helpful. He explained everything to my husband while he was fixing the compressor on our unit. We always appreciate when companies take the time to explain to the customers what they are doing and why. We also ended up needing a few pounds of freon and David was very detailed in explaining the costs to my husband. (at this point we were prepared to pay any sum of money to get our air fixed ;) but were pleasantly surprised at how low the final cost ended up being.) David did not leave until he was sure that the problem had been fixed. He even took some extra time to walk through our house and give us some pointers on how to keep costs down on our electric bill. Wonderful customer service! we will definitely be using them in the future and recommending them to friends and family.

I was very pleased with the service I received from Barron's HVAC from the initial assessment to the completion of the job, I received nothing but professionalism and with my many questions they walked me through step by step. I would highly recommend thier company for any service needed. It was a pleasure working with David Barron and his staff.
