Get it in writing!
Recently I had windows replaced by Mr Schantz's company. I had rainwater leaking into my house and needed the job done quickly. Mr. Shantz told me several times the job would be done in three weeks and four at the outside.

It took almost seven weeks for this whole issue to be completed, during almost all of which my leakage problem continued. Needless to say I wish I would have used another company and strongly suggest you do the same.

I'm avoiding mentioning several other issues with this company, because I simply do not think you would believe all that happened, let me just say it was a fiasco and it has taken me several weeks to calm down enough to write a review.
Bottomline- whatever they tell you unless it is in writing it doesn't mean much to this company.

P.S. When they respond count how many other people are to blame for this company's problems.

Mr Crowden. You have twisted the facts. You had everything in writing including the install date. My installer was injured just before your install and you were set back one week. Your problem existed for well over a year. You hired a contractor who bailed out on the job, then expected miracles from Schantz. No one would touch your job since your property has a steep slope and the massive windows were 55 feet from ground level. Your wife threatened to post a lousy review on Kudzu if we didn't discount the job $500 for the 1 week delay. I won't be extorted. There are bad contractors for sure, but there are also bad customers. You will go on our list of one of most miserable I've ever dealt with and unfortunately I ignored my sixth sense that said "pass" on your job. ps: read my responses to other reviews. I always take responsibility.

Best Contractor intown!
This is the second time I have used Schantz. Both times Greg provided superior service, product and, performance! His crews do outstanding work, are very courteous and timely.

Superb Roofing Contractor
I looked up Schantz online after another roofer screwed up. I should have gone to these pros 1st. They were realistic with what needed to happen with my roof leak, diligently scheduled it and worked with me on pricing it out.

Great Customer Service and Quality Workmanship
I live on the west coast and rent out my home. In October, we had a sewer back up at my house. Schantz Home Improvement handled it all from dealing with my insurance company to working with my tenant to keeping my nerves calm through a stressful situation that I could not be there to handle in person. They kept me informed throughout and made great recommendations for replacement carpet and bathroom fixtures. Their sub contractors did quality work and they were able to get the work done in 3 days! I highly recommend them.

Siding Work
The project was a smaller job, but Schantz still did it for a good price. The siding work was done quickly and looks good. I appreciated their work and professionalism.

Solved a tricky roof leak problem
Schantz found and stopped a roof leak quickly and permanently. They checked the source from the outside and from the attic and I've been dry for months.

The others that came out probably would have solved my problem, but they wanted to replace the whole roof (at 9 years).

I will definately call on them for future projects.

I suppose it doesn't surprise me that the others wanted to maximize profit. We like to assess the entire situation and suggest the best use of your money as if it was ours. Sure, we didn't get rich quick, but we would rather grow our faithful customer base for long term prosperity. Our repeat business keeps us in business.
