I was shopping for a physical therapist when I came across the reviews for this place. So I gave it a try and I must say that everyone was right. I lucked up and had the delight of speaking with... Tonya (the therapist)personally to schedule my appointment and i liked her personality right away. I felt like I was talking with an old friend. At that point i was very excited to start and I was even more impressed when I got there. Her personality is so positive and contagious. She was able to explain my diagnosis to me better than my doctor could and I left with a better since of understanding of what my injury was and what steps I needed to take to get better. I never write reviews but I felt so great from my experience there that I wanted everyone else to know. FYI, I felt immediate results after just one visit.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I loved it there. I am in agreement with all the positive comments I've read. Tonya is a super therapist and she has a great bedside manner. She went out of her way to stay in contact with my doctor... on her own time to assure continuity of care. She truly cares about your recovery and treats you like a long time friend. I have been discharged for a while but we still keep in contact and she makes sure I'm am still Ok. I can't say that about other therapists I've met.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I love tonya!!!!! She is very easy to talk to and has a wonderful and inviting personality. She is very patient and will answer any question you have. She has helped me with several issues and I have definitely improved. Not only does she have expert advice, but she has become a great friend. I've watched her work with the elderly, young, athletes and those with spinal cord injuries and I'm fascinated. I highly recommend her.
Jerry is a fantastic physical therapist. I was sent to him for pain on the bottom of my feet in the heels. I had been taking diclofenac which killed the pain but did not cure the problem. In just two sessions I was on the road to relief. He was very careful to explain things as we went along and give me feedback on my progress. Don't hesitate to contact Jerry or ask specifically for him in a referral. It will be worth it.
Jerry helped me a great deal with back pain after a car accident. The clinic is very comfortable Jerry is intelligent, capable and easy to work with. I learned a lot about exercises to strengthen my back and how to prevent future injury. My pain has now resolved and I am so thankful to Jerry for all of his help.
I first approached Jerry with a very painful rotator cuff problem due to lifting my handicapped child. I told him how often I could visit due to work and commuting constraints and on top of that, I told him that my cheap side was telling me to finish treatment before year end before the next year’s deductible kicked in. He took all of those variables, designed a program that is really working, educated me on my body, my problem, and how to lift smarter, and in addition he took a genuine interest in my son. Jerry’s solutions are no-nonsense and they neither committed me to a gym membership nor a lifelong schedule at his clinic. His goal is to get his patients healed, self-sufficient, and graduated from his care when the time is appropriate. Jerry is a top notch professional and a lot of fun to visit.
After my son broke his leg and was in a cast for 12 weeks, I didn't realize how important physical therapy would be. It was essential to the his recovery. Jerry helped him regain mobility and the confidence that he needed. It was easy to get an appt. and Jerry took a lot of time getting him back up to speed.
My Doctor recommended Jerry Ruff at Spine & Sport PT for a very unusual inner ear balance problem. I thought he was crazy sending me to a physical therapist. The treatments Jerry provided helped me tremendously in a few short visits. He was extremely helpful educating me about my condition. He is very friendly, but most importantly really cares about your well being. I highly recommend Jerry for any of your physical therapy needs.
This was my first experience with physical therapy. I was referred to Jerry by my Dr for shoulder pain. Jerry showed me numerous stretches and exercises to strengthen the shoulder and minimize the pain. I would recommend Jerry and Spine and Sport to anyone looking for a physical therapist.
I went to Jerry after visiting another physical therapist in the Woodstock area for knee problems. The previous physical therapist had made me hurt more. Jerry evaluated me, gave me stretches, and told me to get orthotics. During my cross country season this year, and I ran a new PR and I was the top girls varsity runner. I have been able to run pain free for over 6 months, thanks to the great care I recieved from Jerry!
If you are in need of physical therapy, do yourself a favor and stop by to meet Jerry Ruff at Spine and Sport. He will introduce you to a wonderful place for healing. Jerry and his staff are compassionate and caring. He is very knowledgeable and an expert at explaining everything to you; the how and why of all that he recommends for your recovery. I've just completed several weeks therapy following knee surgery and am thankful that I chose Jerry Ruff to get me through the rehabilitation I needed. All patients are treated with care and respect and if you appreciate a little humor along the way you'll find it there too. pking
The office staff is friendly and efficient. The office is clean and well equipped. Therapist Jerry is top notch .. professional .. knowledgable .. involved .. going the extra mile. And ultimately the proof is in the pudding (or in this case my knee). My doctor warned that it would be months after surgery before I went without crutches and a year till I resumed normal activity. But with hard work and Jerry's guidance I was walking without aid within two weeks and I'm back to all my normal activities in just 3 months (hiking, horseback riding, etc). In fact I am stronger now after 3 months of therapy than I was before my softball injury. I could not recommend this business more highly.
After I had my fourth surgery and they fused L4-S1 in my lower back, the pain was so intense in my low back, buttocks and legs that I had to take 200mg of morphine per day. I had been dealing with this pain for 23 years up to the time I visited Jerry Ruff. I also took Oxicotin, Methodone or Fentynal as a breakthrough pain med along with muscle relaxers, inflamation and sleeping pills. These helped but caused side effects that were almost unbearable. I also gained 70lbs. I was fed up with the doctors and the medication and turned to Jerry Ruff for help. His approach was different than I was use to. He started me slow and gave me useful pointers to help focus my mind and body in the right direction. After 5 months of therapy my low back and buttock stopped hurting and I lost 50lbs. I made a decision to come off of the breakthrough medication and was very successful. Jerry continued to work with me and monitor the pain levels, which were almost gone completely.I eventually cut the Morphine down to 30 mgs. Jerry showed me that I can believe positively and do the right exercises that my body needs to stay healthy. All the Doctors wanted to do was operate and keep me on pain medication. Jerry's knowledge of the human muscles and how to help them work together has been a tremendous help in my healing. I know all healing comes from God but many times God works through people to get the job done. Jerry is one of these people. Jerry Ruff can help you too! pick up the phone
Thank you, is not enough to express my gratitude for the professional service I am recieving from Jerry and his Staff at Spine & Sport P.T. in Woodstock,Georgia. I had knee surgery July 30th,2008 and by the end of the second week of p.t. I am pressing 100 pounds with my legs. Jerry takes the time to explain in lay terms the theory related to the physical therapy I would recieve. WOW I followed his plan and I am very pleased with the results. Thanks to Jerry and his staff for their kindness and professional enviroment. I now believe there are some physical therapist that can trully make a diffrence in patients lives and for that I am grateful.
Went there expecting "physical" therapy and there was nothing "physical" about it. Spent 10 minute getting hands-on treatment out of 1.5 - 2.00 hours there. Billed my insurance company too much money for the little attention I received. The front-desk staff, especially a lady with the initial of "J" needs classes in social skills. She is unprofessional and rude. Her rudeness made me decide to find P.T. elsewhere. Jerry Ruff was very nice, however, he and his staff did not meet my expectations. Tood bad....
I was placed at Spine and Sport PT for a clinical affiliation for the DPT program at Emory University. I was so blessed to get to work with Jerry Ruff. He taught me so much about physical therapy and was a great example of quality patient care. He cares a lot about his patients and treats them with respect and attention. I highly recommend Jerry to all those looking for great quality physical therapy. I could not have asked for a better clinical instructor for my affiliation.
I had a bad fall a couple years back riding, have gone to doctors, drugs, etc. Then a couple months ago, I found my legs not working as they should. It scared me. My dr. recommended S&SPT. Everyone here was great! Jerry and his staff made you feel very relaxed and comfortable. It was an eye opener in regards to stretching. Jerry and his staff showed genuine concern and care in my therapy. Thanks guys!
Jerry Ruff the P.T. at Spine and Sport is excellant at what he does, which is proving Physical Therapy. After only a few sessions I gain more mobility than I hoped for. He seems to care about all is patients and is able to help all of them with their various problems. I wuild not hesitate in recommending Jerry and his facility.
