I got the feeling they had too many patients and not enough time for each patient. I had to call and ask for results for each test. The nurse was never available and there was always more I had to... do, which proved to be absolutely useless: like mammogram, contracts, psychological evaluations, etc. My IVF was cancelled due to poor response-no discussions of medication change, other protocols, etc. They were so persistent on egg donation, which is over $25,000. Save your money. We are going to the Czech Republic http://www.reprofit.cz/en The whole procedure for an egg donation there costs $6000+ travel and all they need are basic tests. IVF will cost you around $3000 and is one of the best places in Europe.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
The doctors are more concerned about how much money they are making! My OB no longer refers to this practice. Dr. Slayden pretty much told us our OB didn't know how to do IUI's properly... We did an... HSG only for him to tell us one minute the test probably wasn't accurate and wanted to do further testing. We let him know from the get-go we were paying out of pocket for all of our services... Every time we got a price quote it was different when we paid. The staff their even sent a claim into our insurance and we received a EOB for over $8000.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I spent the better part of a year working with Dr. Slayden and the folks at RBA. Everyone that we dealt with at both the main office and the Northside office were so pleasant and professional. We had 3 failed IUIs, but Dr. Slayden encouraged us to either try again or try IVF. When we expressed both ethical and financial concerns about IVF he took the time to educate us but also encouraged us to seek counsel and not do anything we weren't comfortable with. We did seek counsel and we also followed up with nurse Tracy who answered a slew of questions about IVF which made us much more confident with the manner in which the little lives are handled. We still had financial concerns and Dr. Slayden told us about a medical study which I might qualify for which would cover the costs. It took a lot of testing and applications, but we did qualify and received the treatment for free. The service was always top notch, the study coordinator was very involved and caring, and no details were overlooked. I would be writing this review even if the procedure had not been successful because it was such a positive experience. Praise God, we are now expecting a little girl (and we still have 2 embryos frozen)! Thank you Dr. Slayden and everyone at RBA! You're the best!

Prior to going to Dr Mitchell & RBA, my dh and I went to other doctors for several years without success. We were about to give up when we decided to go to RBA. Dr. Mitchell-Leef and the RBA team are great! After she and Dr Brahma diagnosed and resolved my fertility issue, I was pregnant within four months. Now, we have a healthy and happy baby boy. We are very appreciative to Dr. Mitchell and RBA for our family.
So my dh and I have just completed bloodwork, semen analysis, and fem vue test and going in for treatment options soon to talk over with our doc, dr. straub. as one mentioned before, he does seem a bit detached and seems to want to rush through conversation so quickly. dr. slayden did my fem vue test. nice guy but wasn't quite sure if he was struggling with procedure or not.finally while performing the test, I guess he gives up and says, "well one of your tubes is open, which usually means the other is open too". I thought that was strange but I played along and said ok because I just wanted to leave. did I forget to mention the Johnson ferry office hardly ever answer the phone!!! all this money they are getting yet no one available. on my first visit they had me mixed up with another patient. ..sigh..we just want a baby. don't wanna be sucked dry of money nor do we wanna feel rushed when we have questions nor do we want to have to spend hours on end hoping someone will answer the phone nor do we want insensitive physicians. think we will wait to see how this next visit with dr. straub goes like so we can decide whether to stick with rba or move on. but I already really know the answer. honestly, I think a lot of these reviews are fake, but I can assure you, im sadly telling the truth.
I received treatment for 2 years with Dr. Brahma. She is the newest Dr to RBA's practice - and she is wonderful. Takes time to explain things, her nurse and admin asst are great too. I had extensive assistance while there - 3 surgeries, 1 IUI, 2 IVF cycles... I also had experience with Dr. Toledo, Dr. Elsner and Dr. Witt. I am currently 10 weeks pregnant with two frozen embryos. My only negative is the long waits sometimes experienced at the main office.
I saw Dr. Slayden in Lawrenceville and have nothing but great things to say about this practice. I work for an OB/GYN and we refer a ton of patients to this office as well! Dr Slayden and the staff are wonderful and helped me through all of the tough decisions and are very empathic to the situation at hand. I would recommend RBA in a heartbeat!!
Felt like cattle. Dr Dorothy Mitchell Leef charged $250 for about a 20 minute consult. Told us we needed to do IVF ASAP then sent us to another room where several staff members went over fees. We were crushed. Found Dr Leef very inconsiderate. Went to another doctor. Dr Randell he was wonderful and told us no reason why I couldn't get preggers. Got pregnant 3 months later NATURALLY. Have a healthy baby boy. Paid/Co-pay: $250
Dr Toledo and his staff are very supportive and encouraging, they are the best people we have seen . right now my wife is pregnant with twins and thanks to Dr Toledo and his staff for giving us the happiness
OK for the visit but Nurse Karen at Cumming office is not very polite on phone seems to be in rush....
I can't speak for the entire practice, I can only speak for one doctor in particular, and that's Dr. Dorothy Mitchell-Leef. If you want to doctor that takes the time to really talk to you about your specific situation, she's not your doctor! She hands everything off to her staff, and they haven't a clue! The staff was cold an couldn't seem to care less! Anyone that's enduring fertility issues, knows that's it's very expensive, my advise is that you go somewhere that you will get the customized care that you deserve. I went to another practice, after two disappointing failed cycles with this place and the first cycle with GRS, that was actually customized to my specific needs, worked, and I'm almost 12 weeks! RBA was a waste of time and resources, but it's okay, it all worked in he end...with another practice!!!
It took a while to search for good doctors who would help with my miscarriages, someone gave me a recommendation to go to RBA. I am SO glad that I came here. They have given me the care and testing that I needed to help diagnose why I was having miscarriages, and also have been supportive. After only three months of going to RBA, I am now pregnant and thanks to the doctors recognizing that I need to take Lovenox to prevent miscarriages and blood clots, everything is going well. Dr. Mitchell-Leef is excellent and extremely knowledgable, and the nurses on staff are very quick at responding and professional. I have been very nervous with this pregnancy, and they are understanding about that as well. I wish I had come here sooner, but I am just glad that I did! It has been a very positive experience, and I wish all doctors and nurses gave you the care and knowledge that RBA does.
I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! They are terrible about callbacks, in particular Dr. Shapiro and his staff.. They also rely on a cookie cutter protocol and won't bother to change anything even if you have concerns. I am sorry I wasted my money here and now we are having to start over some place else. They also have a charge sheet that reads like a menu and you pay a DEPOSIT on your cycle and have to add to it if it gets low, whereas most other places you know your cost upfront! Very shady dealings going on with this place!
I was surfing the site and just had to post a comment. I have to admit that going through any fertility treatment comes with its challenges. We were recommended to RBA by a friend that was not successful, and still recommended RBA because of the quality of care she had during her treatment. I personally have nothing but praise for RBA. Unlike some practices, when you choose a doctor, for the most part…you see your doctor and their staff throughout your care. RBA was more than happy to help us arrange financing for our treatment as well. We feel very blessed to have had a successful outcome from our fertility treatment and I would recommend RBA to anyone seeking Infertility treatment.
We had a bad experience at her office with Dr. Dorothy at Reproductive Biology Assoc Inc. We realize that she doesn't have time for the patient, is always on the run. We were not fully informed about the risks and chances of getting a successful IVF. The office is very active in securing the advance money but not so caring about the results of any treatment. In our case, she kept telling us that every thing is great, you are doing well and at the last moment we realized that all that was just the good side and we were never informed of the negative side of the tests. It was a huge emotional shock for us when we went for the procedure on the last day. She was not there to advise, results were not there as she told us earlier. It was a worst experience at her office and we won't recommend anyone going there.
