I was drawn to service my SUV with Toyotechs after reading reviews of Kudzu. Unfortunately my first visit became a nightmare and ended up paying $1700 engine related work. If you have any engine... related work, do not go to them. May be fit for oil and filter change. Lessons learned - Don't be fooled by manufactured positive reviews.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
It was some time ago that these phonies tried to get me to pay them $4600 for repairs that I didn't need (supposedly I needed a "new" transmission and a catalytic converter). It is now y-e-a-r-s... later. My car is still running fine thanks to Randall Byrd (who is unfortunately no longer at that Aamco on Covington Hwy). These people are greedy bloodsuckers.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
Fred got me in on a Friday afternoon when My ac had quit working. He had it fixed and me back on the road for a very reasonable fix, and a very short wait. He also replaced a burned out light bulb that a Toyota dealer had not had in stock when I had gone in to get it fixed. The Toyota dealer did not even offer to go to a auto supply store to get a bulb. I love my Toyota and Toyotech too.
I think a lot of the reviews posted here are bogus. Read them. Who writes reviews like "they made a believer out of me", "thanks Toyotechs"? I have actually been using Toyotechs for many years (I have both a Toyota and a Lexus). I have used them for everything from simple maintenance (oil change) to involved work (replacing head gasket). I have plenty of experience with Fred (owner) and his crew. And, I have no reason to either sing their praises or criticize them unfairly. I am about as unbiased as one can hope for. And, I have talked to other customers and read (real) reviews to confirm my own experiences. Let me start by saying they are not crooks. They are mostly honest. They are not going to tell you your car needs work when it doesn't. However, they are slow... disorganized...and make lots of mistakes. Even with an appt. you are likely to wait awhile. Sometimes it takes them forever to just start work on your car and I have had several situations where they didn't complete the work on the order. One time they tightened the emergency brake so much the car froze while driving. They just aren't very thorough - don't seem to have any pride in their work - and don't seem to be motivated to improve (plenty of customers). Don't expect a call when they are done. If they make a mistake, they will give you a free oil change - I have had 7 free oil changes. And the big question - why do I still use them? Sadly, I haven't found anyplace better yet...but I'm looking.
We've been doing business with Toyotechs for 10 years and we do all of auto work with them. They have maintained all of my cars and they are an important reason why we only buy Toyota's. Several people that we've recommended still go to Toyotech's and they are all extremely happy with the service. We also use their referals to other shops for work they don't do, such as body work, front end alignments, on axle wheel balancing, etc. Great success there too! A great place to have your Toyota or Lexus serviced.
New to town & brought my 98Camery in for new brakes. Great service & fair pricing. They made sure to ask before performing any service.
I have two Toyotas that I bring to ToyoTechs. They are not the fastest service place in town, but they are the best toyota shop I have found. Service costs what they say it will cost, and all the the work they did for me was high quality. The only reason they don't get five stars is becuase of the time it takes(1-1.5hrs for oil change).
They changed my oil. Afterwards I took the car back twice because of an oil leak. They claimed they couldn't find it. Next time I took the car in for something else they said the leak was coming from the oil pan gasket like it was obvious. Apparently they thought I was going to blame the oil leak on them so they weren't forthcoming about the problem. I had no intention to do so. Upsets me because I took two trips to their shop and wasted time, gas, etc. on having them look for the problem. On the subsequent repair job, I told them I needed the car by 3:00 pm pick-up. Instead of calling me to tell me it wouldn't be ready or telling when I arrived at the shop, I sat at the shop for over two hours waiting for the car. Again waisted my time. The owner admitted they slipped up due to being so under staffed. They offered a credit for the next time I go there instead of offering credit towards the bill that day. Based on the poor customere service what is a credit for future service worth. I won't be going back! I don't recommend them for car service.
Smoked out of the waiting room. Otherwise very nice people. I recommend ToyoTechs. Keep your dollars local. Avoid Big Banks, Big Dealers, Big Walmart type store! Spend your dollars local.
I use them for my Corolla and have found them to be very fair, honest, and helpful. I highly recommend them.
This shop is outstanding !! They are the definition of "Service" and above all...they are honest people. If your vehicle does not really need it...they'll tell you. I advise anyone with a Toyota to try them out...I don't even think about the dealership anymore. A+...10/10..everyone at ToyoTech deserves the highest possible rating. -Ketan Patel
Took my wife's Sequoia to them and do not know the 1st thing about Toyotas. They were helpful enough to advise me on holding off on some services until certain mileage milestones. Doing them all at once would be cheaper and easier. Great folks, answered all the questions that we had. Was upset that it was $200 to change a power antenna but that is Toyota's fault - not theirs - as the part was $180. I wish they would open a BMW shop so I wouldn't have to hold my breath when I go in for an oil change anymore.
Title says it all - what you need in a repair shop. Never thought getting car maintenance would be a pleasant experience. They've earned my trust.
They fix your car like it was theirs by offering prompt service, an honest assessment & a fair deal.
As the 2nd owner of a great little hybrid, I wasn't happy when the electric battery died last September. After a recommendation from an out-of-town prius repair expert and phone conversations with Fred, I had the car towed from the all-or-nothing, impersonal dealership to ToyoTechs in Chamblee. Fred was open to discovering the nuances of the hybrid mechanics and even purchased specialized safety equipment to handle the battery components. During the long wait for replacement parts from Toyota, Fred and Jennie even lent their car, saving me hundreds of dollars in rental fees. Since the replacement of the battery and ecu the car is running better than ever, getting upwards of 43 miles to the gallon. It's always pleasant there, within walking distance of food, shopping, library and marta. A computer with internet is available to customers. The personalized service and recognition from everyone who works there makes it worth the drive even for a standard oil change. And the aaa discount doesn't hurt either.
just wanted to add another great review for a great company , they are the best .. fred and jenny run a tight ship over there i recomend them to all my friends
Toyo techs on Clairmont road near the Doraville Marta station is the only place I will take my 4runner. Whether it is for maintenance like an oil change or something in the engine. they are knowledgeable and friendly and do not talk down to me! Great value for your hard earned dollars (thats why i bought a toyota in the first place0> Toyo techs helps me keep it that way.
Have been using them for approximately 10 years for my Lexus, my wife's Lexus, and several Toyota vehicles of other family members - always great service and very fair pricing. Also, always very knowledgeable, trustworthy, helpful and courteous. In my 60 plus years they are by far the best repair and service facility I have used.
