I replied to the ad for $159 septic cleaning and if had agreed to all the undisclosed charges in their ad and overwhelming upselling job by the employee, I would have paid $3,737!!! I would appear... the employees are likely forced to generate sales for things you do not need. Also, the lack of transparency in their pricing was shocking. There were numerous nickel and dime fees not included in the ad and even things that are advertised as "included" were not. For instance they advertise that up to 18 inches of digging is free. However, it's not free if they do it by hand, only if they use their digging machines. This is the first negative online review of a company I have provided in my life but I believe it is justified so that anyone using the company can beware that they are sending over a salesman that will try to generate ways to charge you more money. P.S.- My $159 septic cleaning still cost me $1,352.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

To be fair the work they've done for me has been good. The problem is how they gouge on price. I called them out to pump my septic tank for $195 but after the nickel and diming the total came to $255 (really, $35 just to use a 10' longer hose??) While they were digging the dirt they cracked the lid to the tank and I was charged $800 for a replacement lid! I had another local septic company come out a few days later to get a quote and told them about the lid and they told me they could've had the same thing installed for $200. 2 years ago they quoted me over $6k for some work that I got done for $4k by another company. They told me that I needed to replace my mainline into the tank and quoted me $2800 to do it if it's just dirt - cutting concrete would bring it up to $3570. I called All City and they told me $500 up to the concrete and then it would go up from there, but after looking at the main line they told me it doesn't even need replacement! They snaked the line and the water started flowing like normal. $125 fix versus $2800 unneeded fix. I want to like Aames but their pricing is out of this world.
Our sale price 195.00 includes upto 1000 gal of waste, 75ft of hose, and 18" of digging.as far as the differance in the previous quote i would need to know what the work was then I can respond to that. Please give me a call any time ask for the septic manager. As for the input line we do not cut concrete we use a cutting company. I noticed that All City quoted you $500 up to the concrete then the price would go up. We don't do that we give a flat rate upfront before we start. I also noticed that they snaked your line, but as anyone that has city sewer or septic input they don't stop-up on their own there is a problem in the line

Our employees are not forced to generate sales for things not needed. We provide a service and advertise for it, sometimes even offering specials. In this case we are running a special to pump a 1000 gallon tank for $159. We can run this special and when a customer calls we can tell the customer what it includes. However we can't see what's really going on until we put eyes on the ground. We can't know the condition of the tank and system and how it has been maintained until then. With this service we pumped out 2 tanks. One was 1000 gallons and one was 1500 gallons. We charged $159 and $259 respectively for this service. According to the customer these tanks had not been pumped in 10 years, and the recommendation is tanks be pumped every 3-5 years. We did have to charge extra for hand digging as 9 times out of 10 using an excavator is possible. Our technicians explained this to the customer before doing the work and they agreed to it (at least at the time). The reason was due to accessibility because of a fence, retaining wall, deck posts, muddy gravel and broken concrete. In fact we had to use a 6 ft wrecker bar to loosen area prior to even being able to shovel. We recommended to replace the filter on the 1000 gallon tank which also was discussed and approved before work was done. In addition we used a camera to check out the line. This was not a charge to customer but allows for our technicians to make thorough recommendations if necessary based on their findings. When a customer calls us for service, we will be as thorough and transparent as possible. The technician is key to providing all relevant information to the customer and providing them with options and recommendations. Were they not thorough and only doing the minimum, and problems persist without the customer at least knowing why, then the complaint would be how could we not see this problem or that problem and why did we not recommend this or that. It is also worth mentioning that to pump out 2 tanks maintained properly would take about an hour, and on this call it took approximately 4.

Shane Walker came out to our house today to fix a leak in our kitchen sink and he was very nice and professional. He arrived just when they said he would and took the time to answer my questions and also offered some "free" advice! I would highly recommend The Pink Plumber!
Thanks for the great review ! We have a great group of people working here at The Pink Plumber. We dedicate a lot of effort towards customer service as repeat business and referrals are very important in a tough economy. I will let Shane know about your satisfied work that was preformed .~Managment~
Jessica was very friendly on my initial call. She called the day of the service as promised. Paul arrived on time and performed the water heater swap out in a professional manner. I would use them again.
Thank you for the positive feedback. We work hard to provide services above the industry standard and appreciate the kind words. We will go above and beyond to show up on time and solve your problem. Feel free to call us anytime. ~Management
Two experiences: For my home PinkP refused to honor internet pricing: Was told by the dispatcher I could use an online coupon offer of $99 to unblock a drain. When the tech showed up he wanted $150 for the work and called his boss who refused to honor their original offer and the coupon printed online. I spent $8 on drain cleaner and it worked the next day and saved $$$. My wife needed to have a 3 gallon water heater replaced at her office. She received quotes on average of $500 but PinkP wanted $1,800 + $200 because it was located in a small place. Just because they donate to charity doesn't mean they can not honor their printed material or rip off people! I'm sticking with my local plumber instead!
Good morning , First off,I would like to thank you for your review about your situation. The $99 drain cleaning speacial is always honored if the conditions apply , which are (thru a easy assesiable clean out ,Residential only, monday thru friday with normal buisness hours.) in your case the additional charges were for the additional work that was needed to clear your line properly. Fill free to contact our office so we may help you with any concerns (770)222-3333 .Ask to speak with the service manager . Thank you again for your feedback.
This past Saturday our sewer ejector pump failed. A service tech from Pink Plumber came by and assessed the problem. He then asked for $1900 to fix the problem. I of course refused this ridiculous price. After going to his truck and "speaking to his supervisor" he came back and said he could replace the unit for 900. When he came back to do the work, he said we also had a clogged toilet that he could clear up for $800! At this point I asked him to leave my house. After a few minutes he came back and cleared the blockage for free saying that he would do it as a "courtesy". This business is horrible! Their prices are ridiculous. And they will clearly try to take advantage of you.
Upon checking into this situation we found that an honest mistake was made. The original quote this customer received for the work needed is our price for this type of work. However, because of a miss communication between a fairly new employee and the field supervisor, a quote for a diffrent type of job was given. Because of this, the customer was given a deal that was"much lower" than our normal acceptable price. No one was taken advantage of at all.
I called at 8 a.m. to schedule a service appointment for a leaky faucet. I was given a window of 3-7 that same day, and I gave my cell number as a point of contact. I made arrangements to leave work and wait for the appointment. And wait... And wait... Around 6 p.m. I called to inquire on an update on timeframe only to be told they weren’t going to get to me today. No advance call, nothing! Had I not called, I’d still be waiting. This is the exact opposite of customer service. I won’t be calling them again.
Was told a technician would come between 12 noon and 5 PM and that I would receive a phone call 30 minutes prior. Never received a phone call, technician never showed up. Took the day off from work, especially to deal with this. Get phone call the next day informing me that I have an appointment and they need a confirmation. Why would they need a confirmation? Glad nobody showed up, because I do not want to do business with a company that is unprofessional and that you can not trust. Totally unprofessional
Total rip off..just like everyone else said..They may get the job done but at twice the cost. I have used them for several properties now and their costs are way too high compared to other plumbers. Environmental fee of $15.00 and a trip charge of $45. Lots of plumbers out there that don't charge any of these. Glad I finally found another plumbing company that has realistic costs for repairs and don't charge these other crummy fees. BUYER BEWARE!
Had them out two days ago for a busted pipe from the recent freeze. $168 to remove 3 snap together soffits; took about 3 minutes max. Pipe was visible and easily accessible. Took a short time to remove broken section and put in a splice; another $440. Plumber was in and out in about 30-45 minutes. $15 for Environmental Fee? Yeah, didn't understand that one either. Grand total, about $10 in parts, all for a bargain $625. Was also told I have a broken regulator, but they could replace for ONLY another $620...um, NO. Doctors make less, and they close up the wound. I got to do the putting it all back myself. In my opinion, this company takes advantage of desperate consumers, and socks it to them on cost. I can understand making a profit, but $625 per hour??? Next time, I'll get estimates and/or do it myself. Won't do business with them again... will tell everyone I can to do the same...
We have used them twice now and we're happy with them. They fixed a broken pipe coming from the septic tank and even applied a chemical to keep tree roots away! We will probably use them in the future, too.
Had an appointment with Aames. They were a no show! Dispatcher kept trying to tell me that the plumber had already finished at my house. Then they told me that they'd try to get someone to me. Again nothing and no communication. The next day same thing. They failed to call me back after I called them to find out what happened. Bottom line...terrible communication, totally disorganized. WASTED MY TIME!
run while you can. Called them to pump our septic tank. They showed up two hours late. The quote of $200 we got over the phone doesn't exist. The guy asked questions about if we ever cleaned. After we answered we haven't, he upped the price without even seeing the tank. So we agreed on $100 more. After digging the tank open, the price went up to $600. They dug it up and said we used too much grease, they pumped the tank, but left all of the grease saying that their machine is not made to pump out grease. I should have had my husband there, but it was my parents house and I was trying to help them deal with. So note, if you don't know much about septic tanks, do some research. I paid it, but they will not have us as a customer ever, so even though they ripped me out of $600, they don't realize how many customers they lost. I will tell everyone what a scam they are and all they have seen from my family and friends was $600. I will also filed a complaint with BBB, so they rating gets reduced.
I could not agree more with your reference to do some research. We pump tanks every day for the $195 quoted price. This price includes 1000 gallons of liquids,6 inches of solids, and up to three sections of hose(75 feet). Tanks that are properly maintained(pumping them out every 3 to 5 years) are pump out for $195.00. In your situation We did the initial work for the $195 as quoted. We also replaced you filter, removed additional solids, and hydrojetted the mainline from the tank to the house. These are additional services that cost additional money. Your tank was also full of grease. This is from food waste being rinsed down the drain. Food waste(grease) will not break down like human waste and will cause your septic system not to work properly. We cannot pump the grease because the county's where we dump will not accept grease. The total of your invoice came to $821.20, and our Tech performed all the services above for $600.00. I don't see how you feel that by paying for additional work somehow makes our company out to be a rip off! In addition, writing a complaint that is not justified to the BBB to reduce a company's rating is Malice.
I had made an appointment for Friday 5/10 for the morning, but was called by them saying they had many emergencies and if I could reschedule. I told them I had taken a day off of work to have my septic tank pumped and they said they could reschedule for later that day, to which I reluctantly agreed. They called again at 4:30 to tell me none of their crews would make it that day and if I wanted to reschedule again. At that point, I refused and knew I would be doing business with someone more reliable than this outfit, as a business that so casually blows off customers who made appointments far in advance isn't someone worth giving my money.
Don't know where to start... They have a "$99 drain special" but told me the total was $410 to clean! Go to Mr. Plumber, they have the real deal and care about their customers. These people are a complete rip off, and the customer service is horrible.
