Ameriserv installed our garage opener in Nov 2012, less than 1 1/2 years ago. The Opener on the wall stopped working. We called Ameriserv and they came right out. Within 5 minutes, Matt had... identified the problem as a faulty part and replaced the new switch. It worked fine then. The problem came when he presented his bill for $117.00! The part was under warranty so no charge but the company charged $24 for the service call, $89 for the labor, $3 for something, and $1 for energy surcharge. $117 is totally excessive to us and we will be sure to not recommend this company nor use their repair service ever again!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
The technician, Taylor was on time, knowledgeable and friendly. The work was completed quickly, and he left my garage door working better than it had been before it broke. The initial price came in... high, but Tiffany in customer service and Will in management made it right. I will definitely use them again.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
We were very pleased with the service we received from American Garage Doors and Openers. The technician arrived on time, got right to work, explained everything to us. And we felt that the price was reasonable. When the old opener on our other garage bay wears out, we will call them again.

My wooden garage doors weren't opening and closing smoothly so I called AmeriServ requesting a tune up. The technician (Jeremy) wasn't professional. He had this arrogant attitude as if I was wasting his time having him come out. Instead of telling me what was wrong with my doors, he tries to get me to buy two new metal doors for $1000. He says he's giving me a $250 discount, and when I tell him I'll have to think about it and how long would this offer last, he says the company doesn't usually write estimates, so I would have to decide right now. He also tells me it cost AmeriServ $150 just to have him come look at my doors. I eventually turn down the sale, and ask what other options I have. He eventually says he can grease the doors for $89 dollars and that'll solve my problem. I thought he was going to actually make adjustments, tighten bolts, etc, but all he does is pull out a spray can of Zep lubricant and sprays all the rollers and tracks. The doors roll perfectly. Problem solved. I'm upset that I almost got tricked into spending $1000 on doors I didn't need, when he knew perfectly well that all my doors needed was a little lubricant. I'm really upset that I spent $89 for him to spend 2 mins lubricating my doors. A can of Zep at an automotive store cost around $10-$15. Maybe I got a bad technician. Either way, Jeremy represents AmeriServ, and he did a poor job representing them. I would not do business with them again.
Problem-Garage door motor FIVE STARS are not enough for the excellent svc I recd. Jason cld me with an ETA and arrived within that timeframe. He diagnosed the problem and provided good options. The price was right and Jason made sure I was satisfied with the completed work b4 leaving. Thank you again Jason for your kindness and patience.
I was extremely happy with the job AmeriServ did at our home. The technician was very professional, the work was done quickly and the price was very reasonable.
Called 4 companies before allowing Ameriserv to do our garage door repair. They were willing to give us a better price to earn our business. We also decided to replace a damaged panel. The new panel did not exactly match our 13 yr old door. The tech, Brandon, called the office to see what they could do. We decided to update with a new door. Credit for the repair was applied to cost of the new door. All techs called 30 min before arriving. All were professional, polite, and knowledgeable. Ameriserv offered a fair price and great service!
Called on Mon. to get a quote for a replacement garage door. Was quoted $559.00 by a courteous woman on the phone. When technicians arrived, price went up $200.00. Waited to discuss the issue with customer service and they cleared-up the discrepancy. Waiting for my new garage door to be installed. Thanks.
Called this company early in the morning for a spring replacement on my garage door. They would not give me prices over the phone...wouldn't even tell me what this job usually costs. They told me that someone could come by today between 11am-1pm and that I would get a call 30 minutes before they came. He said I would be charged a service call fee if I chose not to go with their estimate. I had to point out that their website said "Free Estimate"...very shady. Anyway, doesn't matter cause they never showed. I found another company willing to do both springs for $155 on the second page of kudzu results (didn't have to drive out to tell me their prices either). Do yourself a favor and dial a few more shops...you'll find the right people for the right price.
Hi We had some issues with garage opener and called to fixed this issues. The lady on the phone said, she did not know until the tech guy arrive and give a estimate. When the tech guy came and gave a estimate and i did not want to work with him because of astronomical quote, and I said, i will handle with this with different guy, and this guy said then I need to pay for call ( $49.99). What a heck? Do I have to pay for calling and getting quote? where in the world these guys are from? are they are crazy? and i entered in argument with him and did not want his service and paid unnecessarily $50 for call. Please make sure that you call and enquire everything before bringing these FRAUD guys to your residence.
These guys just left my house an hour or so ago, and I just had to do the review. This has to be the best experience I've ever had with a service company of any kind ever! I am a do it yourself kind of guy. This year I have less time to repair my own stuff ( and I'm getting a bit older) and have hired some folks to do work for me, and yes I'm picky about workmanship and friendliness. Everyone from the lady answering the phone this morning to the Gentleman ( Brandon?)who just repaired my door and opener exceeded my expectations. Professional, on time, ( actually called to ask if he could come earlier)and very friendly. The prices were more than fair, did a great job, and left me feeling like they're still great people working in the home repair business. Well Done Guys!, you have my business in the future.
Bob, I appreciate the quality workmanship that your technician Brian did in replacing the broken spring and getting the garage door opening smoothly and quietly. The price was fair, the work was done the next day, and the outcome exceeded my expectations. I'll use you again. Jim Kerlin, Sugar Hill
We had our garage repaired and had a follow-up issue that needed to be resolved. Appreciate quick attention by the Operations Manager. Thank you for taking the time to assist us and for your customer approach!
I called for a free estimate and a no pressure, knowledgeable young man gave me a lower then expected price to replace my garage door. Service was scheduled and a two man team arrived on time after calling. They were extremely competent and courteous. They did an excellent job with a terrific result. I recommend to anyone needing solid performance from a professional team that goes beyond expectation.
Our garage door stopped working a month ago. My husband attempted to fix it a couple times himself, but wasn't able to. I saw some of the commercials for this company and looked them up on the internet (they seemed fine). I called them in the morning, a guy came out that afternoon and fixed the problem in about 30min. Very pleased and good price too.
A week+ ago a gear in the garage door opener unit went out as the motor turned on but the chain did not move. I took off the cover and confirmed that it was indeed a gear problem. I originally called "Atlanta Garage Doors" and two sketchy individuals came out and tried to charge me $400 to change out the gear or $800 to change out a new unit. I said no and they then tried to negotiate "because they were already here." We agreed on what I thought would be reasonable to change out the gear which was a bad move w/ the previous red flag. They changed it out but then the motor would no longer turn on. They left to get some "ideas" and later called me and stated they could not fix it. They offer to install another unit w/ free labor and of course I asked them never to come back. I then did some more detailed research online (as I should have done in the first place) and came across Atlanta Garage Doors & Openers. I shared the situation over the phone and the individual stated the board could have been a fried and shared options A (replace board) & B (replace unit) w/ costs. The technican came out while I was at work; he called me to explain that it was indeed the board because of the blinking light pattern. I went w/ option B and when I came home everything was done as planned. I wish I had called Atlanta Garage Doors & Openers the first time ... things when exactly as agreed and planned. Thanks.
