Alarm Monitoring Service of Atlanta (AMSA) is a company with that rare combination of affordable price and the very best service. A look at the Kudzu reviews and a check with the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) will confirm that this is the type of company that todays consumer prefers for the protection of their home and family.
AMSA introduced the low monitoring rate of $14.95 a month back in 1995. They use only the best equipment (Honeywell) and back it with a robust two year parts.. and labor warranty. Recently named one of Atlantas Top Ten alarm companies by the Atlanta Business Chronicle and awarded Angies List top 5% Super Service Award, this company will not disappoint.
Their installation teams are very experienced and highly trained. Whether they are pre-wiring a new home under construction or retrofitting a system into an existing home you will experience a level of professionalism and attention to detail that is rare in any service industry. They receive calls and letters every month from new clients specifically to praise the technicians who performed their installation. Don't you deserve the same?

I recently had AMSA activate the alarm system in our new home. From the very first phone call to set the service up to the final installation, everyone that I spoke with was so friendly and very... helpful. Robin, in the office, was very informative about the companies products and services. She also was very quick to respond to my phone calls and emails. It's so nice to be able to have a point of contact instead of an automated system where you are transferred to any of 100 people in a call center! Josh came to our home to install and active the system. He was very professional, but also had a great sense of humor. He explained everything that he was doing and walked me through operating the system thoroughly. I would definitely recommend AMSA if you are in search of a great alarm motoring company to work with!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I have had AMSA for almost a year now. I really do like their service. I had them call the police out twice when my dog walker set off my alarm. They were very prompt! I couldn't be reached... because I was out of town and didn't hear my phone ring. They had called the police so quickly after I didn't answer that I couldn't cancel the police in time. I really love the service at this company. I got a great deal when they were retrofitting the current alarm system I had in place, and I have a great monthly plan at $12.95. I would recommend AMSA and have to my neighborhood.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
Lanny the sales advisor was knowledgeable about the system to be installed; he offered excellent advice after reviewing/walking the property with me. AMSA service is the best value of all security systems I examined on-line and through other contacts. The installer- Aaron was professional, thorough, explained to me every aspect of the installation of the security system. Once installation was completed, he took plenty of time to review the installation and operation with my wife and I. We have just had the system installed so a performance review will be pending. We moved our five stores and office to AMSA and the difference in monitoring quality and reports was amazing. Operators are knowledgeable and committed to resolve problems. The local office handles issues immediately. They upgraded our panel boards and now can manage our systems remotely. The real-time web reports are much more useful than the emails we used to get. These folks are prompt, professional, and how they do this for the best price beats me. But we're really happy to be with AMSA! I've included a pix of one of alarm panels but the smile is on our Store Support Director - who no longer has to deal with our previous monitoring company!
I agree with recent posts on this site. The customer service for Alarm Monitoring Service has changed dramatically over the past several years. It has also been difficult for me to get a returned call. Whoever initially answers my calls is fantastic; I am referring specifically to the customer service department. I have spoken to the same woman or the same man on several occasions regarding some technical issues. Neither of these individuals should be serving this company in a customer service role. They are rude and condescending and they present themselves with a certain air of entitlement that I find offensive. Please correct this problem. I refer many clients to Alarm Monitoring Service of Atlanta.
Cindy, I can't apologize enough for the bad experience that you had with our service department. It is not representative of who we are. Please know that the problem has been addressed and corrected. We have an outstanding operations manager named Ronnie Wagner with 22 years of service department experience. If you EVER have an unsatisfactory interaction with his department please call Ronnie and I assure you that he will jump through hoops to correct the issue. Thank you, Glenn Barham, President
I admit that I am not a technical guy, but I was in the service industry for a long time. My wife used to handle everything concerning our burgler alarm system. After she died, I had to learn. Some time ago, I called for help from the "service" department. I talked to someone who was impatient with me and down right rude. The next day, I spoke to someone else who just wanted to get me off of the phone. Obviously she had some place to be other than talking with me. Finally, I was turned over to Alan, the Service Manager. He was very professional and he knew his stuff! Most of all, he was patient with me despite the fact that it was closing time. And, he even called to follow up and make sure that I understood everything. Wow!!! I called back recently and was turned over to the same impatient service folks even though I requested to speak to Alan. I was finally told that Alan is no longer with the company. Alan, wherever you are...thank you. To the owner - what the heck????
I cannot get a returned call. This company is losing business!! I finally tried to call back just before 5:00 and the office was already closed!
I am very displeased and disappointed to hear that you were unable to easily reach our service department. Please accept my apologies. That is certainly not the typical experience that our clients have. If you ever have an issue that is not handled in a satisfactory manner please call me and I will take care of it myself, immediately. Glenn Barham, President, 770-984-0090
A few years ago after my house had been burglarized through a vulnerable window, AMSA recommended installing a glass break detector. Last week someone tried to break into my house in the middle of the night, while I was home. Thank goodness that when they broke the glass the alarm went off and they took off. Before I had even caught my breath enough to call the police AMSA was on the phone and got the police to my house very quickly. I was so glad I have AMSA!
Our system was designed around our saftey AND our budget, very important right now in these tough times. I am pleased with this company from the sales team to the installer. They have gone above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you!!!
Phenomenal professionals.Took great care. Even went round putting up stickers/signs. Blows ADT away!
Unbelievable!! My fire alarm got off this past Saturday at 8:30PM and the alarm company AMSA receives the alarm on Monday at 2:30AM!!! Of course, I didn't pick up the phone ringing at this ungodly hour - but I got up and my cell rang - I picked up and I kept on telling them what happened (I was really mad) - After all the calls, they sent the firemen!!!! Called them back to complain about it freaking and after one Melissa hung up on me I called again and a lady gave me their service phone number - I called an another lady picks up - also absolutely rude and sends a technician Eric to call me back at 3:14AM!! This guy Eric keeps on asking if the alarm is armed now - what???? The alarm rang on Sat at 8:30PM!!! Nobody called me then!! If their systems send a signal on Monday at 2:30AM I guess they have a problem!! AMSA I'm going to switch companies!!! Not the first time this happens!! Safety? I don't think so!!!
This client is correct in that the system malfunctioned and was unable to send out the fire signal over her cellular communicator. She has exceptionally poor cell reception in her home plus an older cell unit. In fact our technicians cell phone only worked for a few minutes when he was at the house. This reception problem delayed the alarm signal from being sent out. Once it was received the central station called with seconds. We have since been to the home, fixed the problem and the client is a satisfied.
I purchased a home in the Atlanta, Ga. area and needed an alarm system installed in my home. AMSA sent a crew (Jesse & Sheldon) out to my home and they did an excellent job installing the alarm system. They tested the system and made sure I was completely trained on using all of the features of the alarm system. As a long time customer, I highly recommend them for their great service and very affordable alarm monitoring fee.
I shopped and shopped and shopped. Alarm Monitoring Service of Atlanta is the best I found. They worked with us to get exactly the right system we needed. We just moved to North Carolina. Wasn't able to find anything close to what we had here in Atlanta
Our alarm started giving error messages. We were told that we would need a new sensor. They want to charge us $60 for a new sensor, $10 for a service technician to drive here, and $80 for install. $150 - come on, that's more than we pay for 6 months of service. We refuse to pay the ransom and have to wait for the contract to expire in 5 months before changing companies. If you're on a tight budget you better plan for this.
We understand that $150. is a lot of money these days, however, the charges for this call are accurate and at the lower end of what a typical security company would charge. $60 for a sensor means that you have a defective wireless door or window transmitter as opposed to a wired contact. Wireless equipment is much more expensive for alarm companies to purchase from the manufacturer than wired. $80. an hour and a $10 trip charge is again at the mid to low range of what security companies charge for a highly trained technician to come to your home. The norm for most companies whose names you would recognize is $100 to $120. This particular repair is only a 20 minute call so while he is there our technician typically would check the main functions of the system (send test signals, meter the main battery, etc). Also, service contracts are available for $6 a month which would cover a reapair such as this one.
We recently had a new alarm system installed by AMSA. From Dan in Customer Service to Shelton the rep/installer, it was a very positive experience. They were both pleasant and knowledgeable. Shelton educated us on equipment and monitoring options so that we were able to select the best system to meet our needs. He was also very efficient and tidy with the installation process. We feel safer and sleep better now knowing that AMSA is monitoring our system.
We just relocated here from Dallas, TX and moved to the Norcross area. The first day we moved in our neighbor next door got broken in to. Instantly I searched for a alarm monitoring company. I googled "atlanta alarm monitoring" and ran across this Kudzu page. I am sure glad I did. I called and spoke with Tim Perkins and he was VERY INFORMATIVE and help me choose the best monitoring service for my needs. He scheduled a appointment for me and Allen the technician came out. Allen did an EXCELLENT job installing my system and walked me thru everything. He checked every bit the alarm and even fixed something the previous installer messed up. If he did not check then someone could of broke thru one of my windows and the alarm wouldn't have gone off. Service is VERY AFFORDABLE as well. If you are looking for an Alarm Monitoring company then go with AMSA!! I highly recommend it.
They don't work with renters, so if you're renting check somewhere else. (They seem like a good company though, so this isn't a complaint. I just wish that was stated somewhere.)
I have been meaning to leave this for a little while. The sales rep we met with was very nice, but the initial contact person was very annoying. I think his name was Mike. It seems more like he wants to try to impress you with how much he knows, not how they can help you. Be careful of them trying to upsell you too. I felt sorry for our rep having to deal with that guy when they were on the phone. He would aks a question, and his manager would go on forever. As I stated, O.K. company, sales manager full of it.
ALERT! ALERT! It has been reported to us by an employee that this review was posted by an ex-employee who had been released by the sales manager mentioned in the review. His description of the sales manager could not be less accurate. We apologize for the false posting.
