When I first moved to Decatur over 10 years ago, I was taking my 2 dogs and geriatric 18 year old cat to a clinic walking distance of my house. After several years of re-introducing myself to the... clinic staff, I finally got tired and switched to another clinic in Decatur where I first met Dr. Ewing. A year or so later, Dr. Ewing decided to open her place, now Collier Animal Hospital, 12 miles further away from my house. Because of the wonderful care my pets received from Dr. Ewing it was a no brainer for me. Even though she is a much further drive and I pass several other clinics on my way, there is no substitute for the peace of mind knowing that my pets are well taken care of. On top of that, the entire staff is a pleasure to deal with and always try to accommodate me whenever possible. If you want to find the last veterinarian that you will ever need. Dr. Ewing and the staff of Collier Animal Hospital is the place to go. I would never trust my kids, now 2 Jack Russellís and 1 Black Lab, with anyone else.

Love Collier Animal Hospital!, 6/15/2012

I went to several different vets after moving to Atlanta. When I tried Collier Animal Hospital I knew I had found the right vet for me and my dogs. Dr. Ewing takes her time with her patients, (you... never feel rushed), and she is equally as good with the owners as she is with their pets. She explains things clearly and thoroughly. The convenient location (Collier Rd by Howell Mill, easy access from I-75) and free parking are a big plus. I recommend Collier Animal Hospital to everyone I know.

Wonderful Vet!!!!

Wonderful, attentive service at Collier Animal Hospital. Dr. Ewing provides personalized care and believes in preventative medicine. She likes to see her patients every 6-12 months for wellness check-ups, which allows her to catch things early enough to successfully treat the pet. Our cat & dogs are in great hands at Collier!

Be Prepared for Unforeseen Costs

We recently attempted to switch vets and chose Collier Animal Hospital, given its proximity to our home. Unfortunately, though, after my most recent experience there, we won't be returning. While the vet seems quite knowledgeable, I just feel the need to warn people that you may walk out paying a lot more than you had planned -- case in point, I had made an appointment for a $14.85 six month bordatella booster, and walked out with an $82.84 bill. Immediately after administering the bordatella nasal spray, the vet went ahead and injected my dog before I even got a chance to ask exactly what she was doing. It ended up being a $17.99 leptospirosis vaccine. While I most likely would have OK'd the vaccine after hearing an explanation, I just can't get over the vetís presumptiveness in injecting my dog, with a substance unknown to me at the time, prior to obtaining my permission (let alone my request). As icing on the cake, I was charged a $50 dollar biannual wellness exam fee. As with the leptospirosis vaccine, I never requested an exam and was never told it was something this vet office requires for a bordatella booster. We will certainly be switching vets.
