I gave it a few months to make sure there weren't problems with our new ac unit before writing a review. found this business here on kudzu along with 3 others when our 20 year old ac decided to... breathe its last breath. we chose this business because they were the most informative and gave us a bunch of different options from low end to high end. we also liked that they had a few brands to choose from unlike 2 of the other companies who only had traine which we would never buy again. we went with their brand because of the price and warranty which were both better then the other options. the unit cools the house better then the old traine ever did and our power bill is down $90 a month less thenm it was last year. the only problem was the thermostat stopped working about a week after they put it in but they came out right away probably within an hour after I called. they said the thermostat was bad and replaced it for free under the warranty. we are going to have them replace the other traine unit this winter when it cools down and will get the same unit. we recomend magic touch.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
After too many bad experiences, upon recommendations from friends from Churh, we finally found Magic Touch, a company we feel we can trust. They were able to replace our old AC with a top of the line Lenox, at a lower price than their competitors. The installers knew their stuff, and were friendly and on time. 'I felt they aim to please! Now, one year later, after routine service checks, we are still as confident with this compny as ever. Strongly recommend!

I got there name from srp as a preferred vendor for the srp duct testing rebate. Setting up the testing was very easy and the woman who answered the phone was pleasant and answered all my questions. Jim arrived at my door right on time and spent time answering my remaining questions and explaining everything he was doing. The process is impressive and thorough. Jim showed me pictures of what he found and even knew exactly what percentage of air was leaking out of the ducts from his machine. Edmond and Joseph sealed all of my air leaks and were very neat and friendly. I will know how much money I am saving this summer but can already tell the difference in the power of the air coming out of the vents now is much better then it was before the sealing. Also I've noticed my house does not get as dusty as quickly as it did before the sealing. I feel very satisfied and will be calling Magic Touch again when I have the money to add more attic insulation. You are doing a great job Magic Touch!

Prompt service over the holidays when my regular company was closed and unreachable. I had guests staying with us from out of town and our heater stopped operating. This company was the only one that even answered their phone. I will use them from now on because I want a company I can count on even on holidays and the company I have been using for years never even called me back (so much for customer service). Overall everything went well, they were courteous and prompt and he fixed the heater quickly at normal service rates (which was a surprise). I will reserve five stars until I have used them a few more times but if the level of service remains the same that I got this time I would say they are great instead of just above average.

Magic Touch recently replaced our 2 AC and heating systems and definitely proved that they are a best in class business!! From the initial estimate by Challen through the install by Rick, Joe, and Edgar everyone was outstanding. Their professionalism, clear explanations, attention to every detail, and the consideration they showed for our convenience and our home was tops!! Öand it did not stop with the install but they helped with the process of obtaining rebates that were available and made it a smooth easy process which was reviewed and affirmed by SRP. Our new AC and heating unit was installed a little over a month ago and I must say we are so happy with the performance, quietness, power, and appearance. There was a huge difference from the beginning with the quotes from the four companies we met with and Challen from Magic Touch was MUCH more thorough and knowledgeable than the others, spent much more time making sure we got what was best for us, not what he wanted to sell us, etc. The installers that came out, Rick, Joe and Edgar were fantastic, neat, polite, and knowledgeable. The attention to detail and concern for our home was evident throughout the entire process and the level of care to make sure we were satisfied was above and beyond the level of service you receive from most any company in todays day and age. Mr. RichMorgan: I see you watch your reviews very closely and answer each one. The technician Troy is very obviously a natural in his field and very well trained. I was a little concerned when he arrived as he didn't appear to be much older then my furnace but he quickly and efficiently proved he knew exactly what he was doing. I did not tell him or the woman who scheduled my appointment that another company said my furnace could not be fixed because the parts were no longer made because I wanted to see if they (Troy) gave the same prognosis. Troy found the problem and fixed it with parts he had IN HIS TRUCK. I guess they WERE STILL MADE. Hays Cooling and Heating much, much better than this company. Response to companies below response. You come out, see what I have, and give me an estimate. That's why you come to my house. Duh!!! You don't ask people "Well what kind of system do you have?" I don't know. That's why I call you. Or in this case somebody else for sure.

ORIGINAL RESPONSE: The reason we offer a FREE "IN-HOME" estimate is there are literally hundreds of options in HVAC systems between types, brands, efficiency levels and so forth. Every manufacturer, the Department of Energy, every utility company, every industry experts' first word of advice to consumers is NOT to use any contractor that claims they can give you a price over the phone before performing a thorough evaluation of your home, current system, duct system, measuring your home, evaluating your windows, insulation, and then using all that data to do a computer generated load calculation to determine the proper size, capacity, airflow requirements for YOUR home. We recently replaced the two a/c units and furnaces in our home, and are so delighted we used Magic Touch. We selected them after interviewing and getting bids from several firms. Magic Touch's site survey was by far the most comprehensive and they didn't try to sell us anything. All of their staff was very professional and pleasant. The work they did was outstanding, and their price was by far the lowest. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Our air conditioning unit sits right outside of our master bedroom window, why is a whole other question I would love to ask the home builder. It was very noisy and my wife couldn't sleep, which meant I couldn't sleep! We have had several companies come out over the years and look at it but they all said it was normal sounds and we should buy a quieter air conditioner because there was no way to move it. Magic Touch found that if they could move some of the pipes that hold the freon that it would get rid of the noise. The workers were clean and efficient and we are both back to sleeping well at night. While it was not cheap to have the work done, I am very impressed with the knowledge of this company that the other companies seem to lack and it was much less expensive than replacing an air conditioner that is only 9 years old.

I want to express my gratitude to Magic Touch Mechanical for standing out from the crowd and providing customer service way beyond my expectation. Not only did they show up on Sunday within an hour of my phone call, and not only did they not charge an additional fee for coming out on a Sunday, they actually didn't charge me a service call at all!!! They only charged me for the part and labor!!! The total bill was less then what two other companies bids just to come out on Sunday, not including the parts or labor!!! Within two and a half hours after I called them, they were here and gone, fixed the problem, for under $140!!! I will be a loyal customer for life and will tell all of my friends and people I work with about Magic Touch Mechanical!!! VR-Chandler, AZ

This company sold me a new name brand air conditioner/heat pump, along with a manufacturer's extended warranty. There were issues needing service right from the beginning, and they charged me for service that should have been under the warranty. Now they no longer do warranty service for this manufacturer, and it was no simple task for me to find another dealer in the valley who would honor it. Don't expect them to warranty what they sell you.
kapriza, While I'm sorry for your troubles, it seems you are confusing OUR warranty with the MANUFACTURER'S EXTENDED warranty. While we have not sold their equipment in many years, the ONLY manufacturer's extended warranty we CAN'T...NOT wont, honor is Maytag, as THEY decided to sell their products exclusively through only a few companies in the valley and only reimburse THEIR contractors for extended warranty work. Only authorized dealers can get approval to do warranty work for them. That said I am puzzled by a few of your statements however. First, we never have and never will charge for service covered by warranty and second we have taken it upon ourselves to compile a list of Maytag AUTHORIZED warranty dealers in both the East and West Valley and give those names to ANYONE who calls with a Maytag warranty issue to help save them the trouble of having to call the nightmare that is Maytag. So while I don't understand why it was "no simple task to find another dealer in the valley who would honor it", that alone should tell you something...nobody else could honor it because Maytag won't pay them to! Kudzu readers, we have been the top rated A/C contractor on Kudzu for many years for a reason...our customers say so! While my heart goes out to this person and anyone with a Maytag extended warranty for that matter, we can't be blamed for MAYTAG'S actions. EVERY other manufacturer including the brands we do not carry does not do this to people who purchased their products, and I personally find the way they do business appalling, but we can't control what they do and don't do. This problem with Maytag stems across the nation (check the internet) and thousands of contractors are up in arms about this and taking the blame for it as when someone calls Maytag (really Nordyne) they blame it on that particular contractor. Maytag owners want to see more Google things like "Nordyne bankruptcy" "Equigard Bankruptcy" "Maytag - Nordyne warranty law suit" etc, Sincerely, Rich Morgan - President
This was my first time using this company after checking out their reviews here and on Angie's List. Two types of companies I always have my doubts about are AC companies and Auto repair shops. Every other week there is a story on the news about scams from these types of companies. I now have a little renewed faith in AC companies thanks to Magic Touch Air Conditioning & Heating. There was no sales pitch, no long list of needed repairs, etc. I felt like I got a thorough and honest evaluation of the machine and good advice. The only thing the technitian did offer to sell me was a maintenance agreement which after reading the fine print really did seem like a good deal since I do have the machine checked every year. Overall I give them five stars. I only give four stars for value because they charge $30 more then the company that came out to check it last year. But in their defense the last company tried to sell me everything under the sun to make up the difference and Magic did not.
This posting is an update from the negative review I posted about Magic Touch and my dealings with them on 6/ 18/13. I received an extrememly thoughtful call on 6/20/13 from the owner himself, Rich Morgan. It should be noted that he spent almost an hour on the phone addressing my complaint. He was professional and thorough and I was extremely impressed by his prompt call. It is obvious that he takes great pride in his work, his company, the staff, and his good name. I understand his position and company policies in regards to the differences between their warranty and a manufacturer warranty. The grades given are solely based on my conversation with him today. I will probably not be using Magic Touch for service in the future only because the repairs will be done through my home warranty. A word to the wise. If you are in the market for a new air conditioner by all means consider purchasing an extended warranty on the unit as I have found first hand that repairs can be extremely costly and can happen at anytime.

BTW, Challen told me that you were "fun to work with" because of the fact that you so diligently researched what you were buying. All too often people make the mistake of buying a system from the cheapest contractor they can find only to be sorry later. I was wondering if I was going to receive the same outstanding treatment I got when I bought a new Trane unit from Magic Touch a few years ago when the unit stopped cooling this weekend or if I was going to get the "we'll be there in a week" routine. To my pleasure I got the same treatment I chose them for in the first place. The service tech arrived about an hour after my call (Saturday) and found the problem was a blown fuse caused by a loose wire. He continued to say although he couldn't be sure, he assumed that wire had always been a little loose and put in a new fuse, repaired the loose wire and handed me a bill with no charge. Very pleasant phone people and service tech, just like the initial salesman and techs who installed it originally. Magic Touch gets my vote because service like this is pretty rare in this day and age!

For years we have had a problem in the heat of summer with two rooms on the West side of our house being WAY hotter than the rest side of the house. We had given up after having multiple companies tell us it was one thing or another, spending hundreds of dollars each time while they all "experimented". We called all the supposed "Best" companies in the valley. We called Magic Touch and didn't even tell them about the history figuring it was a lost cause. After coming down from the attic the serviceman informed us we had a "damper" that was closed that was not supposed to be. Within 30 minutes the temperature difference was obvious. Magic Touch solved the problem nobody else could! I wish I would have called them years ago because they are the real deal and their competition stinks! I will NEVER call anyone else. Based on the high reviews of Magic Touch on Kudzu, I had them come out and give me a quote on a new A/C unit that needed to be replaced due to the hailstorm last year. I also had the company that manufactured my old unit out as well. When they arrived, in less than 5 min I had a barely legible estimate. After calling Magic Touch I had Challen Hansen come out. He was there for over an hour doing a load calculation and gave me an estimate. Challen is an asset to your organization! He answered all my questions and even included the replacement of my 70's era electrostatic filter system in with the price. I had many issues with the insurance company and every time I needed another piece of info to send to them, Challen was there to help. Installation guys were fantastic as well even though it took a little longer that was scheduled. I refer anyone that needs any AC repair to you guys. THANK YOU for a fantastic experience.
