I just returned from an appointment for a lube/oil change in response to an 'oil change needed reminder card from the Service Mgr' for $29.95. Upon arrival I was told my 2012 Mazda5 required... synthetic oil and the charge would be $59.95. I complained & they offered me a $49.95 price to which I reluctantly agreed. The service was to take 'up to' 70 minutes. I was called to the desk to pay at 85 minutes. The bill came to $55.06, almost dbl. the offer that brought me in. I told them I felt like I had been mislead and they said the small print mentioned synth oil was more $. How would I know I needed synthetic oil? They had me talk to the Mgr. I asked if all 2012 and newer cars required synth oil. He told me all but 1 model. I pointed out that it would be easy to divide their mailing list and send the proper pricing to owners of 2012 and newer Mazdas. He continued to argue and said that the 'small print...blah blah blah'. I continued to say the mailing was extrememly misleading and I was also offered this price when I called to make my appointment. He eventually offered me a refund which I declined. I wasn't looking for a freebee, I only wanted the price offered on the card. At home I looked at my receipt a bit closer and there is no mention of any lube service. I'm skeptical about that being done or it would have been itemized as everything else was. By the time I got my car back, it had been 110 min. Next time... Called and got a price over the phone, came down and it was the same price. Odd but that can happen. I got in and out in 30 minutes. That's efficient use of my time
I'm a stay at home mom who has to take her kids to their after school actives, so I needed a car to accommodate them and their friends. After some searching, I found Jim Ellis Madza Marietta. I am so happy I went there. The whole staff was very helpful with my car choicing. I took awhile, but they bared with me and were very patient. When my kids get older and need a car, I will definitely go to Jim Ellis Madza Marietta. Thanks you guys, Pearl
I love the service and sales departments at Jim Ellis in Marietta. I purchased my Speed 6 there and will return again when a new version comes out. The guys in service are always nice and I trust them to fix my car correctly.
TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE! They were fantastic when I bought my car off the showroom floor, but every time I came in to get my car serviced, Eddie Goinez was rude and unmannerly, and some of the guys behind the service counter ogling at me and other females that walked in. I filed a complaint with a manager after I was screwed out of $570, but never heard anything back and just kept getting junk service coupons. Even their own female employees acknowledge the poor service towards women! They aren't worth any stars!
I recently bought a Mazda and it's a really good car. Mike was an excellent salesperson, no pressure on buying a car, just finding the right one.
The folks at Jim Ellis are the friendliest, most knowledgable folks that I have dealt with at an automobile dealership. The salesperson did a great job covering me on the Mazda6 features and there was no pressure. The service department always does a great job, whether for routine maintenance or for the 1 warranty assist I have needed help on. I would buy from the dealership again. -- Mike Kennemore
I have purchased 10+ new vehicles and never from the same dealer. We purchased our last new vehicle from Jim Ellis Mazda and would definitely go back. Our purchase was NOT the typical painful haggling process, it was quick and painless. They didn't try to sell a paint protection product or any other scam. The salesman was well informed and showed us around the vehicle. The finance guy matched the rate that our credit union was offering. We have had the car serviced there, since new. They are a little pricy, but it is piece of mind, knowing professionals are working on your car. Thank you for the great service!!
I got my Mazda3 at Jim Ellis in February and I had to say that it was a great experience. Having worked in sales, I knew what to expect from the salesmen. They were totally nice, really listened to us, and were great to work with. This was the first stop at the beginning of our car shopping, so we did not buy at first. But after visiting, my dad called up our salesman (Grey Finn) and told him exactly what we wanted. We came back another day, and they surprised me with EXACTLY the car I wanted. Great dealership, didn't take too long to do paperwork, and I'm still in love with my car!! Service/Repair doesn't take too long either. Highly recommended!!
Changing my review to poor for Jim Ellis. I recommend McCullough's on Roswell Road in Atlanta. I have a Saab.

I recently had a claim on my warrantee and addressed the service department at Jim Ellis Mazda. After a "false start" with someone (who no longer works there), I worked with the service manager and explained my situation. Afterward, he apologized for any inconvenience and I was treated like a king. The service department went above and beyond any dealer service I have ever experienced! Kudos! Looking for a new Mazda? I've bought three from Jim Ellis Mazda, and I will again!
Our Miata recently needed some work done. Bobby Austin, service consultant, was always professional, kind, and kept us informed of what was going on with our repairs. He made the repair process as painless and friendly as possible, and we will definitely be going back to see him any time that we need any work done on the car, even if it's just an oil change. We were that impressed by him.
Mike Fresquez was respectful and spent a long time educating me about the Mazda3. He went into features even I did not know I was interested in. I learned alot and it helped me make a decision to purchase a car that is best for me. He was not aggressive and did not talk down to me.
I recently purchased a Mazda 3 Hatchback from Jim Ellis Mazda and though I was really only looking for a used vehicle, the sales team (Theo, Curtis, Gunter) were able to offer me a new 07 vehicle for only about $1500 more than a similar used vehicle that I was considering. In addition, each time I spoke to any of the aforementioned consultants, they always provided me with detailed answers to all of my questions and never engaged in the normal high-pressure sales tactics that most people tend to report. In fact, this was probably the most enjoyable vehicle purchase I have ever made and so I would highly recommend them if you are considering a new or used Mazda. Also, the service after the sale (so far) has been beyond what I had expected. It is clear that this dealership is actually interested in their reputation within the community.
I have taken my vehicle (9-3 2001) to the Marietta Service center since I bought the vehicle. I've been satisfied with all the service they have provided. They are very quick, courteous, and customer friendly.
I purchased my Mazda Protoge 5 from Jim Ellis Mazda (JEM)about 3 years ago and I have NEVER received more then average service from this dealership. (It is usually less the avg.) Give service or parts a call one day, they are the "happiest" people. I had been looking for a Protoge 5 for weeks and the JEM sales person could not find the one I wanted. The whole time we were looking, the used car mgr was driving one I wanted, which was for sale. I happened to see it and I told my sales person that is the car I am looking for. Thats when we found out the sales mgr was using it for his own personal use. I said this is the car I want and I put money down on it. The day I went to pick it up it had NOT been washed nor cleaned on the inside. I guess my $14,000 purchase did not warrant above avg service. I have had other issues with Jim Ellis Mazda but I do not have enough room on kudzu (limit 250 words). My word to car shoppers and service work. Look elsewhere, these guys could care less. The lady answering the phone however has always been pleasant though. Jeff I have been through 4-5 headlight bulbs on this car and JEM doesnt seemt to think there is an issue and I should pay to have it fixed. Car only has 48k miles and it is a Certified Used Car. I have been using Jim Ellis Mazda for sales and service for the past 3 years. They have never let me down! I highly recommend them!
Have been trying to get a replacement radio head unit (screen went out) on my leased Mazda for the past 7 months. I have to take the car in to get the part reordered, then they never order it or lose my order! Also, I get there at 7am to do the required maintenance and it takes them 2 hours to change the oil and rotate tires! I do it myself and save time and money but it's a leased car.
