Terrific work, 3/16/2015

We have a washer/dryer closet set-up with very cramped working room. Over the years, the dryer attachment to the wall vent, which had always been in the most difficult configuration possible, had... deteriorated to the point where the vent chute would work loose, blowing lint behind the dryer. Avery came over, found an excellent solution which required a fair amount of ingenuity and clambered in and out of that space w/o complaint. Dandy fix, great guy. Will definitely call them again should we have problems with appliances.

Quick and Painless, 1/08/2015

Our oven went out which proved to be a major inconvenience. Called and made an appointment for the next day and Avery was in and out of here within 30 minutes! He fixed it efficiently and even gave... me tips on how to maintain it without spending a lot of time or money doing it. Thanks Avery!

Owner admits service man lied to customer

My mother called Lanny Appliance to have her heater service to begin the fall season (would not come on). A service tech came out was under the house about 15 min. came in and knelt down on his knees and told my mother and I that he would have to condemn the heater. He was surprised that she hadn't already had trouble with carbon monoxide. Took the panel off and found a crack right in front of your face. He continued to look found another crack. He told us there is 2 cracks and it has to be replaced. I called another heat & air company. They came the next day, worked on heater for 4 hours, replaced a few parts and my mother's heater works beutifully. We were assured there is no cracks in the heater. Called Lanny to advise him that his employee lied. Lanny wanted to check for himself. Lanny came with the technician. Lanny admitted to my mother and me ". . . he lied about the crack." Lanny assured me and my mother he would not be letting this technician go. This could have cost my mother thousands had she went with what Adams tech intead of a few hundred to repair the heater and we would have never known he lied. Be ware if they tell you, you need a new heater. This happened the end of Sept. 2012

Everything this customer has stated concerning that initial visit did happen. When I spoke to her about this, I told her this was a very serious charge that could not be taken lightly and I wanted to get to the truth of this matter. At my request, she allowed me to return with the technician so he could show me the two cracks he found. The technician was unable to show me the cracks. I told her that what our technician put on her invoice was not true. I told her I was not going to fire him but that I was going to take strong disciplinary action against him. I did not fire him because he has given me well over 20 years of faithful service and I have never before had such a charge brought against him. It seemed that this was not pleasing to her. She was very angry. I understand her anger, for I was also angry. I have been in business for 35 years and have gone to great lengths to protect the reputation of my company. I will in no way allow deception and fraud. We deal honestly with our customers, whom I greatly value. There are page after page of testimonials from our customers commending our company. There is no excuse for what has happened in this case and I take full responsibility for it. I have given my deepest apology for what has happened in this situation. I am taking several steps to make sure that it never happens again. In addition to speaking very strongly with the technician involved, the following is a letter to him which will be posted in his personal record with our company: “You have been in our employ for many years. You are my personal friend and your father was a close personal friend. I have trained you and watched you grow. You do some of the best work in our company. For these reasons I am not going to dismiss you for this single incident. However, I am not at all pleased with your misconduct in this case. If another charge of this type should arise in the future, I will, without further notice, dismiss you from our employment. You know me and by now certainly know what I stand for. To prevent such a thing from happening in the future, you will provide to our office credible evidence of any cracks in heat exchangers on furnaces by photos, or operating conditions observed before any new furnace is installed. This information will be related to me prior to any installation. You will not state that there are any cracks in any heat exchanger without visible evidence. There will be no exceptions to this policy.” I have apologized to the customer in this case and refunded all money she paid. I also apologize to those in my profession who have to fight against the stigma attached to such actions. This conduct affects all of us. Lanny Adams

Disappointed

I have used them before for repairs and they were great. I received a quote for a new AC/HEATING system from a very nice tech, it was outrageously high. I have a 1400 square ft. house they gave a quote for 6490! I got another quote the day before for 4250 from another company. Maybe they didn't want the job and they won't be getting it.

This customer called us for a free quote to replace his HVAC system. The quote included the equipment he requested, including permits and inspections to complete the job properly and to code and also a 10 year parts and labor warranty. It is impossible to know if our quote was for the same type and/or efficiency equipment as what the other company quoted or if their installation included permits, inspections and warranties. So many times home owners do not realize how many factors enter into a HVAC installation and do not get a true comparison of "apples to apples". We wish this customer the best and hope his installation was completed to his satisfaction. Lanny Adams

The only choice for appliance repair, esp. Ken

Gotta love Lanny Adams - they are professional and fair. Ken has been to my house twice - once for a relatively simple oven repair and just recently for a far more complicated refrigerator issue. Both times he was top notch - and a really nice guy to boot. When it breaks, Lanny awaits!

Always Call Lanny Adams

Lanny Adams Appliance has gone above and beyond for me twice this year. A 15 year old Maytag dryer which I thought was on its last round has been revived twice. Once a simple repair and today the dryer vent was clogged and causing the dryer to shut off after a couple of cycles. Thanks to Ryan clothes are drying again tonight. He was professional, polite and competent. He cleaned up the mess made by cleaning the vent and replacing it with a new one on the inside. Thanks for your help today.

Made Sure Things Were Wrapped Up Before Weekend

We called Lanny Adams to fix a clothes washer leak. The service person (can't remember his name) found the broken part causing the issue, but didn't have the replacement part in his truck. He would've had to come back the following day with the part, but since our service call was on a Friday, and they don't do service calls on the weekend, our service guy left to go find the part and came back about an hour later and fixed the washer same day. Good service. One piece of advice however, service person should actually say "hello" and introduce himself when he comes to the door instead of "hey" and walking right in :)

Great Customer Service

I called a few days ago because the burners on our stove weren't working so well. The scheduler was friendly and accommodating. They actually called 30 minutes before arriving, as they promised they would. The technician, Avery, was prompt, professional and very helpful. He gave me tips on maintaining all of my home appliances, and was very pleasant and easy to talk to. I will definitely use them again for all of my appliance repairs.

Expedient and Knowledgeable Service

Dameon did a wonderful job on my washer. He immediately knew what the problem was and did an expert, efficient repair. I've never been so pleased with any service repair person ever. He also explained other services available when I asked. Not only would I would recommend Dameon, but I also found the receptionist who assisted me very pleasant and quick to offer several appointment times. I will definitely use this pleasant and expert company again.

Excellent Service - Home Appliance Repair

When we were having issues with our GE Profile refrigerator and Kenmore front load washer that were no longer under warranty, we searched Kudzu for repair services. Lanny Adams Appliance was our first choice, and Ken was the technician. He called to let us know when he would arrive, and once here, he quickly diagnosed our problems and solved them - awesome work and very reasonably priced. We will definitely call and ask for Ken if we ever need help with our home appliances!

Fast, Nice and Great Service!

After having some not so good luck with a different company - they had been out to look at our dishwasher as it was not draining- they said it needed a new drain pump, but we would have to wait for the pump...after canceling on us twice to come and replace the pump - I canceled on them and called Lanny Adams and within an hour their technician (Avery) was at my house and turns out all that was needed was to unclog the dishwasher - so he fixed it and then ran the dishwasher to ensure that was all that was needed. Avery was very professional and nice. Lanny Adams fixed our problem we had been trying to have fixed for two weeks within hours!!! Thank you!

Excellent Service!

I was so impressed with the excellent service we received--from the first phone call, to scheduling same-day service, to the phone call twenty minutes before they were to arrive and the excellent service and attention to detail we received. Our refrigerator was leaking due to a plugged drain and Damon explained everything he was doing and answered all of my questions. Would definitely use them again!!

Good Customer Service!

I have used Lanny Adams for refrigerator repair at one of my rental houses and the service was outstanding. So, when my own refrigerator stopped freezing last week, I called Lanny. Unfortunately, due to the cold snap, Lanny's tech was booked for the next week...Lanny, knowing that the refrigerator issue was more urgent than he could provide service for, was very apologetic and took the time to recommend another company in my area and giving me their number(also a highly rated on Kudzu). Thank you for taking the extra step!

Great Service

I called Lanny Adams because I was having problems with my air conditioning unit continuing to blow air when it was supposed to be off. I was able to schedule an appointment very quickly for the tech to come out. He was very informative and walked me through everything he did as he was doing it and the problem was easily resolved. I will definitely call again if there are problems with my unit again.
