I called ABetter at 8am Monday June 1.The person who took... my call told me they will take care of it. Robert was out here before 9am, found the problem and repaired it. I can honestly say i was floored today with my experience. Have only used ABetter for my heating and air service and have even recommended them to friends, family and neighbors. One would think that... 11 years loyalty would count for something. Nope!!!. Even when i pointed this out to both ladies in the office they were unmoved. I mentioned that i will choose another company after today and it made no difference. If i can overpay for a part with them, why not call someone else. Paying over $400 for a $89.00 part plus the service fee is too much. Save your time and frustration and overlook this company. Everyone is here to make money but this is too much. They dont care about loyalty and customer service, had they did they would want to take this in to consideration. Take my word for it, that was the last dime they got from me, and they dont realize customers do share experiences with everyone. Way to go ABetter. I have been an "ABetter" customer for 9 years and have been very pleased with the service they have provided. Last preventive visit was typical. Robert W was early and thorough and they accommodated my atypical work schedule. I remain a loyal customer.

Our pricing is structured on a flat rate basis, that includes mark up, labor (3 hrs spent on this call), and all the expenses related to delivering excellent service. Pricing is presented, and agreed to, before any work is started. This customer wanted to haggle about the price. The service technician and office personnel do not have the authority to negotiate prices. We do offer discounts to our PM55, maintenance customers, which this customer is not on the program. After purchasing our home 8 years ago, the original company who installed the Heating & Cooling system in our home went bankrupt. ABetter contacted us and told us they would provide the complementary visit that the original company was supposed to honor. We agreed to have them service our system every year since then and they have always been professional and quick to respond. A nice feature is the annual service price being locked in at the original quoted price. We have been very happy with them and would highly recommend them.
We have been using ABetter to service our HVAC twice a year and have since we found them 16 years ago. In this timespan we have had maybe three techs at the most! Before we found ABetter we would have a different tech with each visit from the company we had used before ABetter. This tells me ABetter treats their employees well, therefore making me the customer very happy knowing I can trust them and their employees that come into my home. They have had many opportunities to take advantage of us over the years and never have. ABetter has earned our trust, so much so when we moved to another town I only wanted them to service our units. You can't go wrong with this company! I am not a family member or friend of Mike's (the owner)just a happy customer who uses the best HVAC company there is in Georgia. (Our son bought his first home and had to have the AC replaced, a big name Atlanta Company was going to take him for a nice long ride, until we called and got ABetter out there, ABetter took very good care of him.)
I would recommend this company to everyone. They have GREAT pricing and a OUTSTANDING customer service. Way to go ABetter!!!!!
I have used this company for the past 5-6 years for my routine maintenance and an emergency service. Their customer service far exceeds my expectations each time, the price is always reasonable and provided prior to service, and they provider a full explanation of what is needed and how my units are doing. They are friendly with every encounter, timely, and never leave a mess. I recommend them with 5+ stars without hesitation.
Our need for service occurred the day before Thanksgiving (11/27/13). With guests due to arrive soon, it would've been a disaster had Abetter not arrived at the time they promised. The tech Robert, was friendly, professional and very courteous. He identified the problem quickly and did a great job explaining what needed to be done along with the price, before fixing our furnace. We could not have asked for a more complete and efficient experience. We highly recommend this company and if all of their service workers represent like Robert, it's a win-win situation.

Technician Robert Williams provided exceptional service. He explained everything he was doing and was extremely courteous. He is a valuable asset to your company. Marcus arrived on time, professional yet friendly, he found the problem with my A/C, explained the repair needed and the cost. He had it fixed quickly and at a reasonable price. I will definitely use them from now on.
Our thermostat stopped working today. I called ABetter, the company that installed the equipment here for the prior owner. They sent Marcus McDuffie here within an hour. He did a good job checking everything out and explained it all to us. We are happy with the job Marcus did for us and would recommend ABetter to anyone.

We have used ABetter for almost twenty years. The staff is courteous and we have never had a problem with the service. The cost has always been provided before the work was performed. I would highly recommend ABetter to anyone needing a heating and air company for new service or repairs.
My heat went out so I called ABetter because I had used them a couple of times in the past and thought they were dependable. I was wrong! The technician came out and found the problem, a bad ignitor. The technician said that the part would be $228 since he was the expert I agreed, he go the part and installed it, total time 1hr. After the install he showed me the part and I thought it was small to have cost $228, so I did some investigating. Turns out he part actually only cost $69. I called ABetter to ask why I was charged so much. I talked with Mike and he told me that the cost of overhead,vehicle,and advertising is why they have to mark the prices up so much on the parts. My bill was over $300 because of the $80 diagnostic fee. This is one of those life lessons and I will never use this company again!
I thought we had this settled on the phone, when the customer declined a price adjustment. The price was agreed to before the repair was started. The 228 includes LABOR, part, mark up, sales tax, warranty, overhead and is based on industry standard flat rate pricing. The technician had to drive 27 miles to get the exact OEM part. Techinician is a Southern Crescent Technical School graduate, with NATE certification and 5 years experience. We are licensed and insured, all employees are covered by workers comp and liability insurance, and are drug free. This job actually took 2:20 to complete including drive time, and was completed the same day. Customers can always look at other options after the diagnosis, but we don't recommend DIY furnace repairs with parts purchased over the internet. Thanks, Mike
