Called around 6:20, by 6:37 a tech called to let me know he was on the way. Jonathan was awesome. He got the issue resolved quickly and got me on the phone with sales to get a quote for a new door.... I knew that I would have to purchase a new door but I have been putting it off. Company's pricing and warranty were in line with other quotes that I received. I'll let you know how the install goes but very happy that they came and fixed the issue today. Don't use these guys! They overcharge and don't tell you up front what they are going to charge. I called them because I had the safety sensors go out on my garage door opener. The said it would be a... service charge of $89.00. I said is that all and the person on the phone said, "that usually is it, unless something major is wrong". Well the technician get here and says "let me look at it". I go upstairs and in about 30 minutes he call me back down and presents me with a bill for $310.00. Didn't give me an estimate, nada. Charged $160 labor, and $150 for a part that liftmaster sells for $30. Boy at $310 an hour, and a markup on parts of 500%, I need to be in this business!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I called the company and ask if they would be available to install a new opener I got for my birthday. The company said no problem. Marcus, 45 minutes late for his 10:30 to 12:30 window, couldn't get the opener installed and jams the motor because he didn't read the directions. He then says that he typically does not install openers and he is the “warranty man.” He then leaves without reconnecting the old opener saying someone will be back in two days. Two days later, Brian, very knowledgeable but an hour late because corporate has him double booked, gets the opener back-up and fixes the wiring that was done incorrectly by Marcus. He then looks through the directions to see a warning light that confirms Marcus broke the main motor. Brain trying to find some resolution tries Tina, corporate office person that was no help at all. She was trying tell me that they don't install third party openers and that this is my problem. Why did they come? I can't stress enough, Tina was useless and should be moved to some other job that does not require any customer interaction. Bryan was great and the only reason I'm giving this company 2 stars at all. He put back up the old unit and got everything back working. This company might be OK with their own garage door openers but if you want someone on-time and can fix your existing door openers, you should look to someone else.

I needed my garage door repaired & called this company for a quote. The technician arrived late & did not call 30 minutes prior to arrival as promised. After quoting me $645, the Tech was rude & unprofessional & insisted that he do the repair the same day since he was already @ my house. I declined & advised him that I would like to get a 2nd opinion.The tech's manager called me from Dallas, TX & started bargaining with me because they "wanted my business". I got a 2nd quote from a "local company" & got my garage door repaired & checked thoroughly by a true professional for $290.
$180 to replace a wire on my garage door. Took the technician 10 minutes. Not a good value for the price.
My garage door opener is ~14 years old (the garage door is even older) and I had no problems with it until the limit switch broke. The limit switch is a mechanism that regulates when the door finishes opening or closing. So, I called Garage Doors Atlanta (GDA) to get it fixed. GDA replaced the limit switch on my garage door on 7/23 at a cost of $142 (overpriced - the switch is actually a $10 part - but it was fixed). Well, the exact same switch broke again on 9/14 (about 1.5 mths later) and GDA tells me the minimum price to fix the SAME problem would be $130 because I was outside the 30 day labor warranty period. What a joke! $142 to fix it, then a minimum of $130 to REFIX the same problem. My advice to anyone considering GDA for a purchase or repair, find another company that does a more reasonable job of standing behind their work.
I called the main number to have our garage door opener installed. After getting them to match another companies price but not come out for an additional day someone did come and during the time specified. The receipt does not even have this companies name or telephone number on it, it list another name and number and the price to have the spring installed was a lot more than other companies and we had the rollers replaced as well and when we asked about getting a lower price if we agreed to have it all done they agreed to come down $25 but said that was all that they could do. Online there is a $35 off coupon for spring replacement and we bought a new opener as well. When I asked about if we could set up our openers to work both garage doors I was told yes to consult the owner's manual and then when I went to pull my car in the garage after the service man left I realized they did not even install a lightbulb in the opener or ask if I had one to put in there!!!! Here I paid all of this money and then had to drag out my ladder and get up to finish their job!!! I cannot even begin to recommend this company to my elderly neighbors because this is not something they could have done.
The cost of spring replacement was quite expensive but perhaps most of these kind of companies are, so do your research because you may need to replace both springs and opener. They did show up very quickly and got the job done the same day. The technician was friendly and able. But he did not take the old, clunky opener and metal frame away. I was concerned also about the receipt with a different local company name on it but they did honor their warranty service promptly and without a problem when I later called.
This company advertises as having the lowest prices in Atlanta. My advice to you is that you do your homework. They do not quote prices over the phone and you could be in for a surprise once the technician arrives. After I was quoted what I felt was an inflated price, I immediately got on the phone and tried to find out what the standard fees were for the service being provided. If a company says that the service being provided is at a discounted price, then they should be able to tell you actual price for service. That was not the case, and I inquired about using their advertised coupon, but was told that the price given was cheaper than the coupon rate. I will admit that I got very upset because I was surprised by the price. After a heated exchange with the customer service representative, I found myself feeling taken and disrespected. I felt worse after I was quoted significantly less prices by 3 other companies for the same service. I immediately filed a complaint on the company's website. I was actually surprised that someone called me back immediately. At the end, the representative did try to rectify the matter and honored the coupon on the Web site. Please know that I take responsibility in this matter as I should have shopped around more, and I advise everyone to do the same.

Just wanted to recommend this company for garage door repair. I wasnt even sure if they would service my area but not only did I get great service but...
I have had this company come out and service our garage door before in the past. They do great work and the price has been very reasonable. I will definitely use you guys for garage door repair again in the future.
In my opinion, they are using questionable business practices to trick clients into using their services. I called Atlanta's Choice Garage Door to come replace the spring in my garage. It not appears that I called into a call center. I asked the representative to give me an estimate on replacing the one spring that popped in my garage. He told me $39. He said that the contractor will come with plenty of springs so they would be able to repair it onsite. He mentioned NOTHING about the $39 being a service call fee. The entire phone call now appears to me to be a big scam. They guy comes out here and gives me an estimate of $59 per spring @ $118, plus a labor charge of $99. So they wanted to charge me $217 to repair a popped spring. Then he says if I didn't hire him to do the work, I had to pay him a $39 service call fee. That is outrageous! Not impressed with your contractors AT ALL! I then contacted the company to tell them that I had not been told about the fee and he said that "He's sure his guys told me." I don't understand how he can be so sure. I did my due diligence to call in for a price quote. If they can't give me a quote over the phone, they should have said that. I feel I have been ripped off! DON'T YOU GET RIPPED OFF TOO!
We are sorry that you feel we are overpriced and deceitful in any way. We must strongly disagree with your accusations and dispute your negative claims. This is unfair and we want to set the record straight.
Reading your review you claim that we quoted you $39 to come out to your home and replace your broken spring. No business could ever sustain itself by making service calls (at these gas prices) and providing parts and labor for $39. If your assumption was that the entire job would cost $39 then we apologize for the confusion you had. We make it VERY CLEAR that there is a service charge- a trip and diagnosis fee- actually of $49. With certain coupons we provide we then take that off of the overall cost of the job if you choose for us to perform the work. However we never do anything without explaining every detail and how much it will cost. If you decide to not do the work we simply require the service call fee. Many other companies charge as high as $110 or MORE for just the service call!!
We take issue with your choice of words like "big scam" "and ripped off". We are always honest with the customer and try to explain every detail so that there are no surprises ever.
You mention that we quoted you for a 2 spring system at $59 per spring and $99 labor. That is a competitive price if you call any other company. Also you did not mention that we provide a lifetime warranty on both of those springs AND that they were high cycle, galvanized steel springs which are far better than oil tempered springs the competition may use. These springs provide double or triple the number of cycles that cheap oil tempered springs will allow.
We hope that our customers will give us the opportunity to explain these finer details especially when making such serious accusations. We take our business very seriously and always strive for the best customer experience at the most competitive prices. Again, we ALWAYS explain that there is a service call fee and then do not do any work until it is explained and then approved by the customer. We record all calls for quality assurance and even have this call recorded. It has been reviewed and confirmed that this was the case. Thank you for the opportunity to explain the situation.
These people are very expensive and do not offer the guarantee from the website. In fact the receipt has a different company name on it. They charged about double what I paid for this service a few years ago. Avoid this company and go with a local company that has local reviews and a single phone number. Look close at the other reviews here. I doubt they are real.

Cost often varies depending on things like the rating of door or springs but we always remain extremely competitive on price. We will also beat any competitors advertised price guaranteed. Again I am not knowledgeable of your specific service call in order to comment on it but I would really like to be able to help you further and make you satisfied with our services. None of our services have doubled in price from a few years ago so I am not sure what you are referencing. We have also had some unethical practices by our competitors posting fake negative reviews so we certainly hope that this is not the case here.
