I had a poor experience with the business recently once my AC went out. I was desperate for it to work on an 80 degree inside day. I called 6 places which were booked a week out. I was happy this... place was available. A HVAC guy came out and he thought we should purchase a capacitor for $250. He explains it may be a 300$ to $400 blower motor that we need but he didn't want us to buy it in vain for the capacitor may do the job. We even bought the 14$ a month maintenance plan for 1 year. He left and our AC stopped working 2 hrs later. We immediately called at 7:30 and they said someone would come. At 9:30 another guy comes out and says we need a blower motor which is $442. We refused to pay that and he says he's gonna make a call. He comes back and says he can take the previously spent 250$ from the total and we pay $345. I asked how does that add up?!? He stays until 11:30 pm and still couldn't fix it due to lack of correct parts. We went without for 2 days and Mon the co-owner was who I am able to complain too. He gave me excuses as to why their parts cost more due to the fact they have to pay their workers 25$ an hour and overhead fees. He also says my quote was only off by 100$....I guess that's not a big deal. He didn't compensate anything but 14$ back on my now canceled maintenence plan...VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I have a 15 year old system that I know is living on borrowed time. The first time, the a/c went out on a Friday night in mid-July, no one else would come out on the weekend, and it was approaching... 100 degrees. This time, I returned home on Sunday evening to a house that was about 48 degrees. I tried myself to reset the furnace but ended up breaking a condenser pipe and making matters worse. I called Peavey who had someone on the way immediately. Brandon got here within about 30 minutes. After negotiating my cluttered garage and attic to get to the unit, he spent several minutes checking things only to discover that the ignition was bad.He gave me a price that was thousands less than I expected when I placed the call, so I told him to go ahead. Within an hour, the heat was back on and the pvc pipe I broke was fixed. Brandon was kind, professional, and just a pleasure to work with. Too often, as a single woman, I'm always afraid that someone will try to take advantage of my lack of mechanical knowledge. I never feel that way with Peavey. I will be recommending them to everyone I know. They will also be the first call early this spring when I finally bite the bullet and have the HVAC system replaced.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
As a single, professional women, I do a lot of research on any company that I bring into my home to quote a project. I needed an ENTIRE system overhaul. They listened to my goals, evaluated my home extensively, and helped me maximize my budget. They also consulted me on projects I could do to improve home energy efficiency. Peavey is how business should be in that they are honest, reliable, educated on their trade and take pride in what they do. All aspects of my project were nearly flawless and the one small glitch, they resolved to my satisfaction. It's realistic to expect in major home projects that things don't always go perfecty, but you need someone that takes care of YOU and takes proper recourse. I didn't feel like the DOLLAR was their priority, but instead my comfort and satisfaction. I recommend Peavey A/C and Heating wholeheartedly and would absolutely use them again.
I called these guys over a year ago and although expensive, I liked them. My how things change. Two weeks ago I called them out to check the A/C; the outside fan on the condensor unit was not working. Result? Bad capacitor on motor: charged $195; parts store cost is about $50. Freon servicing: charged $169; average cost is $18/pound;average home A/C unit capacity is 4 pounds; tech told me it wasn't "empty", just needed servicing. Really?
"Bear31088" Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. If the parts listed above were the only components involved in the price then it would not be fair. However, the price of the part is actually just one aspect out of many that comprises the price. Other components include: Over 1/2 of our Technicians are N.A.T.E certified (thousands in cost), we have all in house, background checked and tested co workers, our co workers are guaranteed 40 hours a week w/ full benefits, our average technician makes 25 + an hr, the overhead that is involved to have the quick response time and excellent customer service that we provide (typically 30% of cost), workman's compensation (20% of payroll), general liability insurance, marketing cost, training cost, high gas prices, fleet maintenance & insurance, Carrier Factory Authorized Dealers Training, Mitsubishi Diamond Contractors training, etc. If you take the cost of an average technician alone, by the time we match the taxes on the pay rate then we are paying over $50 dollars an hour just for the technician. Not to mention the company must make a profit in order to stay in business so we can respond same day to fix your air conditioner. Concerning the freon adjustment, we have an up front price to add additional freon. Bear approved the up front cost for freon. The system wasn't out of freon, it needed additional. Like a car that is low on oil, not completely out of oil. We also cleaned his outdoor coil for no charge saving him over $100 (included FREE in our service agreement). Since the review was posted, we refunded him for the Service Agreement he got started on and let him keep the value of the free outdoor coil cleaning. Overall, we feel and continually strive to provide the best value for the dependable expertise, customer service and top quality workmanship we provide. If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to call me directly at any time @ 678-777-5643 Jason Peavey Owner Peavey A/C & Heating.
I highly recommend Peavey for your heating and air conditioning system. Whether you have a problem that needs fixing or if you just want to protect yourself against future problems. They have a great maintenance plan and they are super quick to respond. The owner is hands on and is eager to earn and keep your business.
More than any of the 5 companies I called to my home for estimates, Jason Peavey made me feel comfortable with his knowledge, non-pressure salesmanship, and encouragement to help me understand my heating/air operation and needs that helped me make an informed decision about my purchase. His crew, Alan and Chris, were also courteous and thorough. In spite of the heat they were working in, I never felt they rushed or were cutting corners. The owner, David Peavey, did the audit on the AC and furnace a couple days after the install, and came back yet another time to personally take of everything until I was 100% satisfied. He was also very personable and knowledgeable. These guys are the epitome of great customer service. I am sure I'll be a faithful customer of Peavey HVAC for many, many years and will definitely recommend them to anyone with heating/air needs in the future.
Kathy, Thank you so much for taking the time out of your very busy schedule to post a review about your experience. This review means a lot because from start to finish, these are the goals we continually strive to meet at Peavey. Every co worker is like a spoke of a wheel and if just one is missing than the wheel may spin but not effectively. That is why we put so much time in training and retaining quality co workers. I am speechless to hear we are "the epitome of customer service". We think real customer service is somewhat more of a rarity today than the norm so we work very hard to provide a smooth, transparent, effective A/C experience. Jason Peavey Pv A/C & Heating
Our AC unit went out and we called Peavey A/C and Heating to check it. We ended up having to replace the whole unit! However, David and Joseph Peavey made sure the process was painless! They both worked the whole day on a holiday weekend and also made sure they put up a small unit in our living room to help us get by. End result....very happy kids and of course that means a happy mommy!
I had Peavey out to inspect my AC unit and do possible repairs. They came out and inspected it and strongly suggested that it be replaced (which I had already known). They offered to attempt to repair the unit to limp it along but took the time to explain the risks involved. There was no pressure sales pitch and the technician was highly knowledgeable. I highly recommend their services.

When it comes to HVAC, Peavey is the first name that comes to mind. The staff is professional, courteous, on time, polite and do a great job of making you comfortable and knowledgeable about the service you are receiving. The technician has always taken the time to explain everything to me. I have recommended Peavey HVAC to many family and friends in need of repair of service. Just today I heard someone I've never met telling a coworker that her AC went out. I spoke up and gave her the contact information for Peavey and she'll be calling soon! With fair prices and A+ service, I will continue to spread the word about these guys and make them my go-to when I need HVAC service. Great job!!
Thank you for telling your friends and neighbors about our team. We are a referral based company so that means everything to us! Keep in mind that we give referral fees from $25 to $100 for anyone you refer. Thank you for your business. -Peavey Team
I have used Peavey for a couple of years, now. I was impressed with them from their first visit. David Peavey has been on all but my first call. He is very professional, not only in his knowledge of his work but in his interactions with his customers. I recently had to replace an a/c unit and chose them. Chris installed the unit and was also very professional and did a great job. This is a company that believes in quality in all aspects of their services and cares about their customers. Being a Quality Mgr. myself, I know that Peavey is following many of the guidelines of a Quality System. I will recommend them to anyone in need of their services. They are a great company.
Peavey Heating and Air recently replaced my heat pump and I cannot say enough positive things about this company! The initial repairman was excellent. He met with me and explained what the problem was, what options were available, estimated costs and times, etc. He then set up an appointment for a free evaluation of what was actually needed based on the size and layout of my house plus what was already in place and how efficient the existing and vents and returns were. He was just as professional, knowledgeable and courteous and the initial repairman. Then, the installers were amazing. They installed the equipment, tested everything and cleaned up after themselves (never seen that before!!) all the while with expertise, experience and confidence that made me feel confident the system would work as promised. After the installation, the owner of the company came by to perform a quality assurance test to insure that everything had been installed perfectly. And I should also mention that the young man in charge of scheduling appointments was also great. He called me before each appointment to let me know when the people would be arriving. He was professional and courteous and was a perfect “first face” for the company. I would recommend this company without hesitation to anyone for HVAC work!
WOW! I'm speechless "TheBabe1". Your review shows the importance of the entire Team which is exactly why we refer to the Peavey company as "a team". It is like the spokes to a wheel, if just one breaks then the entire ride will be shaky! We all work together, unified in our company culture, to provide the healthiest, most comfortable and energy efficient home environment. Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback because reading reviews like this mean so much to our team. Jason Peavey
David Peavey came to my house this morning and fixed my A/C unit very quickly and for a great price. He explained everything in detail and gave me great pointers for future maintenance. I would HIGHLY recommend this company for their great customer service and expertise.
After sifting through an endless listings of HVAC companys I took a chance on one that was a gem!! After reading the reviews and could sense the customers were genuine. From day one, I was very impressed by the level of detail and knowledge put into the prep work alone before we spent a dime. Everyone bearing the Peavey logo entering our home was professional, competent, courteous, and customer-friendly. I will not have to search again.Impressive, highly-recommended, and great value!!!
Highly recommend Peavy. They installed a new AC unit last spring and the quality of their work and customer service is unparalleled! I also have the service agreement and it is a great value. They don't just rush through the inspection - they take the time to thoroughly check things out.
Thanks Stvgorm. Our service agreement is valued at well over $600 dollars. Maintenance is something every system needs on a regular basis which is why we reward our loyal service agreement clients like yourself with so much value. We also check your CO levels in the home which in my opinion is priceless because nothing is more important than our safety. For that reason alone is why David, myself and our comfort consultant are now certified BPI Analyst (Building Performance Institute) Jason Peavey
Peavey installed a replacement AC and Heating system for our home. Everyone I came in contact with was knowledgable and courteous. They took the time to answer my questions and made sure everything was right. The price was right in line with others, but their service and attention to detail make them a great choice.
I interviwed 5 different companies looking for someone to install 2 units in my mother's home, and not one of the five(trust I called the big guns) made me feel comfortable with the info they were giving me, i.e the type on unit, the work that was going to be done, and they did not perform any type of calculations etc. I told my mother that I had one more company coming and it was the Peavey Inc. The min he came inside the house he covered his shoes,so as not to to bring in outside traffic. He took his time, and was up front about how long it would take for the inspecation, appx 2hrs. He did not try to up sale he told us his recommendations and provided us with a lot of information, so we could do our own homework. That was not given from the Big 5. The rep from Peavey was professioanl, courteous, and very knowledgable in his field. When the work was being completed the installers were just as courteous, professional and my mother felt very comfortable leaving them in her home(that says a lot). After the work was completed a Peavey rep came out to inspect the units that were installed by their installers. Peavey did not rush they answered the many questions my mother had, and they also help my mother fill out the warranty forms. I can really go on about how happy and pleased we are about the work that was completed by the Peavey A/C and Heating Inc.,but that would be an overkill. If any one decides to hire them they will be just as wowed with their Exceptional Service.
WOW! It is a pleasure serving you. Thanks for your business.
A/C was not keeping up with the 106 degree temps recently. Emailed Peavey 9:30 Friday evening via their website. Received a call 30 minute later asking about our problem. Asked if I wanted them to come out Saturday or wait until Monday. They were upfront about the higher weekend service fee. Told them to come out the next day, Saturday. After about 50 minutes, the tech said that nothing was wrong with our system (wrote readings on receipt) and also explained that a/c's are designed to normally cool down 20-25 degrees below outside temps. Said that for our seer rating (13) the a/c was cooling properly. He also explained that as time passes, units tend to loose efficiency. He only charged the service fee, which is fair, and made some recommendations, than left. This is my second time dealing with Peavey and they are the only HVAC company I will call or recommend.
Peavey HVAC replaced all of my ductwork and installed a Carrier Infinity System. My energy bills went down My house is always comfortable and I feel I am breath clean air in my home the service was great. They were on time did what they said they would and I am very happy. I would use them again and again also I got their PMA program with cause me to never worry again about being comfortable in my home again.
