I have contacted the owner Phil several times regarding getting my invoice and the information needed to get the GA Power rebates for attic insulation. When I spoke to him he said he would send it... immediately and asked for my email, which I provided. However he never sent the paperwork needed. It's like I fighting a losing battle. I'm sure they must be busy however its important to provide good customer service for any business..... I'm sure there are other reliable home energy companies in the area who will not give you the round around and provide what they have promised. Will update if issue is resolved. 1. The sales rep told me he would submit paperwork to GA Power to get me a $300 rebate. He said I did not have to do anything to get the rebate. It looks like the paperwork slipped through the cracks... - sales rep said he will mail me the necessary documents to get the rebate. 8/28/13 UPDATE: About a month ago I was provided the necessary paperwork; I completed it and submitted it to GA Power, and the rebate from Georgia Power arrived yesterday. 2. I was told the blown-in attic insulation would cover the whole attic, including the plywood floor. That didn't happen - the plywood floor was not covered and neither was the whole house fan. I bought $88 worth of pink insulation rolls, a mask and goggles, and put that insulation down myself, but I paid for about 200 square feet of insulation that I didn't get. 3. I was told I would receive three coupons/certificates for follow-up inspections. So far,I have not received these. 8/28/13 UPDATE: I did receive the coupons/certificates for follow-up inspections. (My first follow-up inspection won't be for about 9 months, so I don't know yet whether the follow-up inspections are provided or are useful).VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

After dealing with many inept service and repair people over the past year, I've become really jaded. And even after reading all the glowing reviews about Home Energy on Kudzu, I was still a little skeptical. What a pleasant surprise when I found that old-fashioned service, quality, attention to detail, cleanliness, and value seem to be the hallmarks of this company. From the moment I got the quote (which was very reasonable) to the moment the insulation installers walked out the door, I was impressed. They arrived on time, did a thorough job, and cleaned up any trace that they had been there. I would highly recommend them.

The Home Energy firm installed attic insulation. We really appreciate arriving at 7:00am as promised. I recemend Home Energy for additional insulation for your home. Seems the AC not turning on as much before the job was done.

I chose this company because of Kudzu. I am pleased. The same day of my isulation install we could tell the difference in the upstairs temp. It was reassuring to have the boss come out and help the guys. All the personel from the sales to the install were profesional, on time and informative. I don't see that I will have any complaints, and if I did I'm sure they would be addressed expiditiously. Phil and I talked for a while, he has a good spirit, I lke him.

Phil and crew were RIGHT on TIME! Explained everything perfectly. They cleaned any insulation that 'fell out', more importantly, our home is COMFORTABLE in EVERY ROOM! There were items scattered in the attic, the workers even "straightened' up all items in our attic and they made it easy and accessible for us. The cost was AMAZING! I had no reason to 'shop around'! Phil wheeler is very honest, trustworthy contractor. I contacted him because I need gutter repair / replacements. He gave me best quote with suggestion of gutter guard. It works great and my tenants are very happy about it.

They installed $2,000 worth of products to insulate my house last year. My power bill went up by 20%. Same amount of usage; I have the bills to verify the information. I contacted them 1 week ago and they said they could not help. This company is a complete fraud! So much for the guarantee they offer. I seriously take each and every comment posted here and received by our office as a direct reflection on how we have performed our job. Upon reviewing this complaint I have come to several conclusions. I personally inspect the great majority of our jobs. Due to the size of this job I would have wanted to see it upon completion. There are no problems that I am aware of, with any of the large contract jobs we have completed in the past year.
Obviously this person has not had work performed by us and most likely anyone else. This individual stated the work was done last year. That means it was installed AT LEAST 6 months ago. If the utility bills are available now, I'm sure they were then! Why would anyone wait 6 months to complain. As you can read in many of our over 350 complementary comments people immediately feel a higher level of comfort upon completion. Not one person has said otherwise.
Neither myself nor anyone else with Home Energy has received a complaint like this recently. My business is too important to me for me or anyone else in my company to say to a customer that we can't help them.
To say my company is a complete fraud is comical. I've done business in Atlanta for over 15 years. If I have made any mistakes in business or not handled business to the customerís satisfaction I admit my error then solve them. My reputation speaks for itself and it speaks loudly, customer satisfaction is #1. Again, read the comments people who have ACTUALLY used our service say about us.
I am always available to our customers; actually I give out my personal cell phone number in case they want to contact me personally. I have received no calls. By the way, here is my cell phone number, 404 819-2677, please call me to discuss this situation. We will do what it takes to make you happy. I doubt I will receive that call, we didn't before.

So much for their guarantee? Which guarantee?
1.Our one yr, five yr, ten yr free inspection to insure the product hasn't settled.
2.That we will be prompt and courteous for our free inspection.
3.We will treat our prospects as we would like to be treated.
4.We will work around our customers schedule to install our products.
5.Keep workplace neat and orderly.
6.Upon completion of installation clean up and leave property cleaner than when arrived. 7.Thank customer for the opportunity to earn their business. 8.Guarantee customers if there are problems or concerns to not hesitate to call us.
9.Do not pay us until after the job is done and you are happy.
I could go on and on about our guarantees, no more really needs to be said. Call the Attorney Generals office? It would be much easier to tell me your name and phone number which you can do here, in an email our call the number provided.
Defending my company's reputation is not something I typically have to do, but do it I will!

I had three quotes done and they were well below the other two. They arrived when they said and did what they said. The results are that the first bill was $153 for the month of May 2011. Compared to 2010, May was $114 but nowhere near as hot. June 2010 was a better comparison, and it was a $182 bill. July 2010 was $245 and August 2010 was $219. I had insulation put in about 5 years ago, but it was not half of what Home Energy did (standards have gone up in last few years). The only negative I gave them was for the baffles, BUT; I looked at the baffles of all three companies and none were to my satisfaction. In conclusion, they are by far the best bang for the buck from my experience and it appears that my energy bills will decrease by about 20% - FYI - I had about 10-12 inches of insulation in my attic already.

We recently had our attic blown and radiant barrier installed in our knee wall storage areas. We have noticed the house is much cooler. The staff is professional. We desperately needed attic insulation to help keep our second story cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. We researched companies on kudzu and had Eric from HomeEnergy come out. He was very friendly and walked me through exactly what we needed, types of insulation, ways to makes our home more energy efficient, etc. As other reviewers have mentioned, not only did they put the necessary insulation in the attic, they also sealed the sockets, wrapped the water heater, and put radiant insulation on the attic stairs. They were right on time on the day of installation, and Phil (the owner) oversaw the whole process, which took only a couple of hours. Most importantly, I saw results that day. Last year, during the heat of the summer on 90 degree days, I would keep the thermostat at 78 degreees, and the upstairs unit would be running most of the day, and not able to maintain at 78 - it could climb as high as 82 or 83 degrees. The afternoon it was installed, the air conditioner didn't even turn on until almost 4 in the afternoon (and it was a 90 degree day), and then it easily kept the temp at 78, and wasn't continuously running. Bottom line, we were extremely happy with Home Energy's service, prices and results. I like patronizing small businesses where the owner is active in the completion of the job, not just the sales side, and Home Energy is that kind of business. I whole-heartedly recommend them.

The bonus room at our house was always noticeably colder than the rest of the house in the winter and much hotter than the rest of the house in the summer. In the heat of Summer 2010, our air conditioner couldnít keep the bonus room cool. Home Energy, Inc. was one of three companies that we contacted for estimates. The three insulation companies suggested similar solutions, but Home Energy had the best bid (about 40% less than the next closest bidder). Sometimes when you pay less, you get less. However, I simply believe that we got a great deal for the money from Home Energy. They installed radiant barrier and upgraded our entire attic to R-49. They also installed a few extras like insulating our outlet boxes along the exterior walls, installing insulation in the attic door, and wrapping our water heater. Phil and his crew were clean, efficient, and friendly. We havenít seen an electric bill since the upgrade, but the bonus room and entire upstairs are much more comfortable and, as the temperature rises, the air conditioner is running less than it did last year. It may take two or three years for a full financial payback, but in terms of comfort the insulation is already paying off. If you are looking to improve the comfort and energy efficiency of your home, I would highly recommend Home Energy, Inc. They offer a fair price, good service, and deliver results!

I hired Home Energy to install attic insulation. I was so impressed with the owner Phil and his crew that I hired his other company Gutters Atlanta to replace my gutters as well.
