I had a service visit today for a minor issue that occurred after some workmen moved one of my door alarms to paint. My problem was taken care of quickly and efficiently, but of even more value to... me, and well worth the $75 service fee, was the information given to me by Albert S. He took me step by step through some of the features of my system that I had been under using. He was pleasant, professional, patient, thorough and a great instructor. In fact, I made the... decision to become an EMC Security customer 10+ years ago based on a single statement from the company President, "We chose not to follow the industry practice of fix term service agreements, so to remind our employees that we are only 30 days from losing a customer from a negative experience". Well, this strategy has served them well. I am not only a security customer, I recently expanded my EMC services to include a home theatre. I had an issue with my previous company and called EMC to get me started with their service. The installer was courteous and helpful. Then when I called to cancel my previous company they made it worth my while to stay with them so I had to call EMC back to have them uninstall. What a mess I made of it by not calling my previous company first. However, I was impressed with the undestanding and patience of EMC and would recommend them to anyone seeking a new security system installation.

Since we have no contract for our service, it is imperative we provide a higher level of service and attention to detail than other alarm companies that rely on a contract to keep customers. As you saw in your experience with us, it results in a consumer friendly, non-bureaucratic environment for our customers. I always find it troubling when I hear that a security company only offered a better deal to a customer when they decided to cancel in order to keep them, as opposed to providing them a great rate the entire time. At EMC Security, each of our customers is provided the same great rate and we haven't had a price increase since 1999. In our opinion, that is the way to treat long term customers! I switched to EMC security, after my contract ended with another local alarm company that requires a contract. I wanted a company that had a name I could trust. I have no problem recommending emc security. There Alarm center is always with in seconds of my alarm sounding they are calling and vary professional . I give them an A ++++++
I was "stuck" with ADT for 3 yrs. due to signing a contract. The day my contract expired I booted them to the curb and call EMC. They were able to come out within 2 days and switch out my system. All it cost me was $35 fee, and $16.95 a month with NO CONTRACT!!! They were able to use my existing equipment which was great. And I told them that I was covered for another month under ADT since I had paid in advance, so they said they would go ahead and give me their services for FREE for 6 weeks! I am so happy that I switched. They offered the exact same services that I had with ADT but at a rate of $32 LESS a month! And the $16.95 is just added on to my Walton EMC bill each month. The service technician was great. So helpful, answered all my questions and didn't seem rushed at all. He made sure I knew everything I needed to know before he left. Am I glad I switched?? A definite YES!
We have had EMC Security for about a year now without any problems or concerns. Their response to any alert is rapid. Gives us great peace of mind being able to monitor our system on our phones while we are away.

I've been a customer for nearly 3 years. I've been happy with the service, the price, the response time and the technicians. I switched to wireless in January. It cost $200 for the communicator. I had some service issues for 6 months. A technician came on 7/8. He told me my system board was fried due to a storm in June. It was going to cost nearly $400 to upgrade the board and 3 keypads. Feeling frustrated, I vented on Kudzu on 7/18. I spent $200 to convert to wireless and paid for service for the last six months, but the system wasn't reliable. Now, I might spend an additional $400. James Collins at EMC replied to my posting. I called on 7/30 and we spoke. He understood my frustration and he wanted to make sure I was happy. He explained to me the situation and the probable causes of issues with the wireless service. He told me that I may not need to upgrade the system board and three keypads. That possibly, I would only need to replace the board. He wanted to send out another technician to check the wireless communicator and the system board. Chris arrived on 8/1. He inspected the system and replaced the board. I didn't need to upgrade board and keypads. It didn't cost $400. I followed up with James on 8/3. We spent 30 minutes on the phone reviewing my system. EMC doesn't take its customers for granted. They listen and do their best to make the customer happy. They can't make everyone happy, but they sure try,

We have been with EMC Security for almost 10 years! Their customer service is fantastic and their field associates are the best. The installer who came today to upgrade our system to wireless was amazing. Very knowledgeable and right on time for the appointment. Our home was broken in to today. Even with 2 yard signs and stickers on all exterior doors they still used a crow bar to break in. They came in from the garage door going to our back yard. They did not get access into our house thank goodness. Our alam system saved us and our puppy from a horrible day. EMC security was quick to respond. Police were dispatched and a police report done. Thank you EMC Secuirty for your awesome service. We have had our system for 10 years now. I have upgraded to the wireless and video system that is being installed next week. So glad we invested in a security system many years ago!

Have a wireless system. EMC calls us about every 90 days to test. Always works perfectly, thank God! In March, a grass fire got under the siding at the base of our chimney and ran into our attic while we were at work. EMC dispatched FD and called my wife. Both were there in 5 minutes. All animals out and house damaged but standing. Thanks EMC and GCFD! Glad we ditched Protection One. They would have probably just left us a voice mail and not dispatched FD. Like they did when our burglar alarm went off a few years back.
The technician was professional and did a very thorough job. Response time from alert center has been quick and friendly. Not my usual experience with service companies to my home. I highly recommend EMC Security for residential service.
EMC Security is very slow at responding when the alarm goes off. I have accidentally set off my alarm a few times and each time it has taken them almost two minutes to call me. If it were a real accident, anything could have happened by the time they finally decided to call. I have been a customer for over a year now, but I will be switching to a different monitoring service next month. It makes no sense having a security monitoring service that isn't prompt on emergency alarms.
JJackson, We are very concerned to hear that you are receiving anything less than immediate, professional response to any alarms from the EMC Security monitoring center. I, along with my central station management team, closely monitor customer alarm response times. EMC Security consistently outperforms published local and national alarm industry averages in every response category. Our average response times for the month of April-May was 11 (eleven) seconds. Clearly, this was not your experience, so I am concerned that there may be equipment issues or other factors that may be delaying your system reporting times to our central station. If you will contact me or my operations manager, James Collins, we will have someone thoroughly inspect your system, at no cost to you, and determine the problem and a solution. As you know, EMC Security customers are not required to sign a contract, so we must consistently perform to your satisfaction, or risk losing your business. I would certainly appreciate an opportunity to review your alarm response records and inspect your system. I find the overall service of my security system very good...I don't really like the customer service you get when calling...I feel as though they did not try to accommodate me on two occasions...They can do better I would hope

My husband and I moved to GA from SC. We had a different security service in SC. We were so happy to find EMC. The rep. was professional, thorough and efficient in installing the system and explaining how to maximize efficiency and protection. The rates are lower than SC. A wonderful service.
