I recently had AMSA activate the alarm system in our new home. From the very first phone call to set the service up to the final installation, everyone that I spoke with was so friendly and very... helpful. Robin, in the office, was very informative about the companies products and services. She also was very quick to respond to my phone calls and emails. It's so nice to be able to have a point of contact instead of an automated system where you are transferred to any of 100 people in a call center! Josh came to our home to install and active the system. He was very professional, but also had a great sense of humor. He explained everything that he was doing and walked me through operating the system thoroughly. I have had AMSA for almost a year now. I really do like their service. I had them call the police out twice when my dog walker set off my alarm. They were very prompt! I couldn't be reached... because I was out of town and didn't hear my phone ring. They had called the police so quickly after I didn't answer that I couldn't cancel the police in time. I really love the service at this company. I got a great deal when they were retrofitting the current alarm system I had in place, and I have a great monthly plan at $12.95. We recently had a security scare and needed an install quick! We were not previously wired so it was a big job - Ron, the installer, was professional and respected our home to maintain its historical integrity. His work was very clean and organized (I didn't have to clean up after him). I can't express how thankful I am to AMSA! My husband and I feel so much safer in our home and we have AMSA to thank for it. CALL THEM - they are affordable, professional and accommodating. It is very refreshing to work with a local Atlanta company that cares about its customers and their safety.
I reached out to AMSA to take over the existing service. I made an appointment and took time off of work to meet a very nice technician, who spent about an hour trying to connect the alarm and finally told me the alarm couldn't be taken over and required new equipment. I then tried to schedule a full installation appointment several times, but my busy travel schedule required flexibility. However, I was told by Robin that only certain days within narrow windows would work for them. Interestingly, the technician who had visited me had stated they do have weekend appointments when needed. In this case, I really needed it. I asked several times and was told no, sorry. Even when I mentioned I would need to go to a competitor, she simply said "ok". Really? I ended up calling a competitor, who very eagerly installed the equipment that same Saturday and provided excellent weekend service at no extra charge. In summary, not a terrible company, but average, and definitely not hungry enough to earn my business. If you are looking for that "extra mile", like I am, AMSA did not cut it for me.
We're very disappointed that you had an unsatisfactory experience with our company. We do offer Saturday appointments about 50% of the time. Our technician should not have stated otherwise. We always have after hours technicians on standby in case an existing client has a problem, but for new hook ups it is typically every other weekend, based on demand. It sounds as though our inside person may have come across as unphased that we might lose you to a competitor. I assure you that does not represent our feeling as a company. Every existing and potential client is precious to us.
You have to sign a 3 year contract for the 12.95/month rate but you can cancel at any time, Really come on please. Why do you have to sign a three year contract if you can cancel at anytime.
In your original posting you stated that our radio ad said there is no contract. Our radio ads have never mentioned anything about contracts, one way or another. In this new posting you state that our response to your original review says that you can cancel at any time, when in reality it says that you can cancel at any time if you move. 95% of all alarm companies require a contract and we are very upfront about ours. Kudzu is an excellent forum for impartial reviews of service companies, however if you are going to take the time to post a bad review on a company with an A+ reputation across the board (BBB, Kudzu, Angies List), you really do owe it to that company and to consumers using Kudzu, to have your facts straight. Its only fair. The following is our original response, unchanged: Our radio commercial does not state that there is no contract, only that we offer a $12.95 rate. When a potential client calls in its one of the first things that we cover with them. Clearly there is no deception in any part of the process. We also offer an $18.95 one year and a $15.95 two year rate, and all of our agreements can be canceled at any time should you move. Our programs are extremely competitive and the agreements are very fair.
We just got our alarm system installed recently. We were very happy with the salesman and especially with the installers Alan and Aaron. Our house was not pre-wired for alarm so our install required a wireless and wired combination. The installers were the ultimate professionals and really listened to our preferences about location of the devices. They went above and beyond to install the best way for our safety and preferences. There would have been easier placements for the devices but instead of taking the easy way out, they spent extra time to get the most out of our system. Alan even followed up with a phone call to make sure we were happy with the placement of the equipment. I should also mention that my husband and I work and felt completely comfortable leaving the house after walking through the installation with them. They called when they were done and left the house just as it looked when they came in. I would highly recommend AMSA to anyone.
I recently signed up with AMSA to monitor my existing DSC alarm system in my residence. Tim was great to speak with regarding my appointment time and answered all of my questions while Shelton and Ron came me out to get the system running and communicating with their network properly. They also went over all of the programming features of my system. If you're looking for an excellent, reliable and friendly company to monitor your home alarm system, AMSA is the one. Great price and payment convenience too.
i just switched from adt to amsa and i could not be happier. tim was very easy to work with and the rep the sent out to do the switch over could not have been more helpful. he made a couple of changes and made my system that much better.

Should have followed that old saying cheaper is not always better. You do get what you pay for. We switched from ADT to AMSA to reduce our monthly expenses and found that where we thought we were saving actually cost us, in service that is. We had our alarm to go off when someone broke into our house last week. We never received a phone call from them nor did the police show up. In hindsight had I know that I was compromising my security I would have never tried to take the lowest price company for protecting my house and family. After that happened we decided to switched or service to DSI Security Systems who's monitoring service is only $2 more a month.
We have researched all clients with this name and none generated an alarm signal to our central station in the last 10 days. This tells us that the signal from the alarm never made it to us, thus we had nothing to respond to. This happens for one of two reasons, both of which we have no control over. The most common reason is that the client changed phone providers, i.e. from AT&T to Vonage or Comcast, or they did away with their land line completely. In all of these scenarios the alarm will no longer communicate unless the client requests a service tech to come out and rewire into the new equipment. It is very common for a homeowner to assume that their alarm is still tied in when it really isn't. The second scenario is that there has been damage to the alarm equipment or to the progamming that is undetected because the system still arms and disarms normally, but won't communicate. This can happen when a power surge enters the system through the power or phone lines. We stress, both verbally and with written notices that it is imperative that the client test their system on a regular basis, including the signal to the central station. It is very unfortunate that this client experienced a successful break in, and we wish that they had notified us so that we could have investigated the problem. However, there are very few scenarios where it would be the fault of the alarm company.
We recently had AMSA install an alarm in our home. We were impressed with the company from the beginning. Our salesman, Alex, was professional and courteous--he was very honest and did not pressure us to buy (unlike several other alarm companies that gave us estimates). Jessie, our technician, was very professional and did a great job. We have been very impressed with AMSA--their employees are courteous and show up right on time and they don't use the high pressured sales tactics that the other home security companies seem to use. I would definitely recommend this company to others.
Can't say enough in praise of this company. I first spoke to Mike on the phone, and he gave me a clear overview of the options. When Alex visited our house for the walk-through, he was knowledgeable, straightforward, and friendly. I was especially impressed that he didn't try to sell us more than we needed to protect our house. The installation was quick and efficient and everything was explained clearly. (Sorry I didn't get names for this, or I'd give a shout-out here too.) Warmly recommended.
I have helped my parents setup their security monitoring service with AMSA few months ago. The experience was so easy and professional I decided to change my monitoring service from Ackerman to AMSA. Beside of change to a company with better service, I also get to reduce my monthly bill from $18.95 to $12.95. In this economy, every bit help. I would highly recommended them to anyone!!!
I can't remember if I found these guys on Angie's list or here, but they really live up to the hype. They were very professional, informative and reasonable. One minor detail is that they had to make two trips out when I had already told them what I wanted. But I was overall very satisified.
Contacted AMSA after a not so good estimate from Ackerman. Glenn was extremely nice and sent Ronnie out for an estimate. Ronnie also installed our service and was amazing. Very helpful and took his time explaining how it all worked. So far, have not had to use the monitoring service for an alarm signal, so certainly hope that lives up to the quality as well. Thank you.
