I was so impressed with Mr. Houser professional service and his personality. Before Mr. Houser came to my home, I had another company to come and check out my two units and I was told that I needed... two new units that was going to cost me $8,000.00. It was something in my spirit that did not set right. The minute Mr. Houser showed up at my home I knew this was a honest and trustworthy man. He told me that I did not needed two new units and all I had to do was to change my filters. I was a little low on Freon on my small unit. When Mr. Houser left my home, he had saved me $7,805.00. He could had tried to take the advantage of me like the previous company tried because of my lack of knowledge of this issue, but because he is a man of integrity he did the most honest thing he could. At first I thought that this was a H&A company I could hang onto. Then after the initial visit I had nothing but trouble with them. Their techs didn't know what they were doing and we had to wait for them to come back to fix the simple problem or on another occasion they "jury rigged" the equipment until they could come back later and charge me more to fix it. I never called them back. My unit runs fine.
I sure wish I knew who you are and what truthfully happened. I count 3 visits you spoke of. I have not had more than one tech since December, and between us we haven't had one warranty call, much less the quantity you make up. We don't rig anything and we don't charge more than the initial job charge quoted when we get authorization from you. I have 34 years experience and he has 16. We know very well what we are doing. Is it that you couldn't get something for free that inspired you to write this untrue slander? I take my reputation very seriously, and our customer service is excellent.
Hi! I am Daniel Yang. I put my name because want to tell only true and fact. I have a two story house and down stair ac unit start didn't work this summer. One local tech told me it is compressor problem but the price of replacing the compressor was too high. So I called Mr Gary Houser. Gary suggested $1200 which was better price than local tech. Additionally, Gary suggested me $1650 to replace new ouside ac unit and $2500 for replacing new in & outside unit. What a good deal! $1200 for only compressor with 1yr warranty VS $1650 whole new outside unit wih 5 yrs warranty. I chose new outside unit and paid $1650. Now is winter time and realize heater isn't work with new outside unit. Gary though, I didn't want heater. I never heard, central AC unit only work cold air and not warm air. I am not the girl from movie "FROZEN". 'Yes cold does bother me' I need heater at winter time. Gary suggested to replace whole new unit inside & out which cost $4200. I need to pay $2550 more to match the price. $1200 compressor VS $4200 new unit. I don't have any other choice than except their offer. I think the technician should let me know the outside unit wasn't compatible with inside unit. Now I don't have any other choice because Houser already sold my old system.
I wish that you could have an understanding about this matter, but you refused to have me out initially to inspect your system after your tech diagnosed a failed compressor. You refuse my lengthy input about this matter, you still call your system an a/c system. It's a heat pump. It's not uncommon for people to use an a/c unit with an electric furnace for lesser installation costs. I talked to you 5 times about the "a/c" unit you put an order to get. Now you tell me you never heard that an a/c only gives cold air and not warm air. It's not quite that easy to claim such ignorance and pass your responsibility on to me. If there is blame, it is 100% yours. I offered to have a full heat pump system replaced and all of what you paid would be applied to that cost... Leaving me to absorb labor cost again and an a/c unit to sell as used. I made a good offer to help you feel you wouldn't be spending more than what you originally would have spent. There is safety in good counsel. I hope you accept expert advise the next time you need to make a purchase.

I have read most of the reviews for Houser Heating and Air and agree with most of them. I have been with Gary since he started his company. Houser has taken care of all of the air conditioners (2) and gas heaters (2) since I purchased the house 30 years ago. They installed a new heat pump and gas heater to match 2 years ago, which makes 3. They also told me that the previous units were undersized for my house. It took 2 days but they stayed until the units were working which was midnight. This year he recommended I install dampners in the ducts since in the winter the downstairs gets cold. When I get the money I will have them do the work. I have had no problems with Houser and have recommended them to 2 other people and they were also pleased with their work. If you need work done call them they are very nice and honest.

My husband & I called Mr. houser to come & give us a second opinion on a quote after we were told by another company that are furnace was leaking carbon monoxide after a routine service call to clean filters etc. We had mr houser come to give ya a quote on replacing furnace we thought was bad, he tore into furnace & checked everything, he then told us that are furnace was is good working shape & there were no cracks or carbon monoxide leaking, he could have quoted us a price for a new furnace, but instead was honest & professional, not only did he give us good news about are furnace, but did not charge us for his service! He will be our contractor for now on! He had excellent customer service & definitely not a crook like the other company that was trying to scam us! I would recommend him to anyone who needs service in the future!
This other contractor said they saw 6 distinct cracks in the heat exchanger. I disassembled the unit to look at a new looking heat exchanger. They put on a big scare presentation along with warning stickers pasted on the furnace and the homeowner signing liability papers and waivers for dangerous equipment resulting in death and health problems. They have a written guarantee for their diagnosis that states if there is doubt or need for affirmation, they will send a supervisor out and if they can't prove there position they will refund original amount plus an extra amount. Sound good? It's a lie. They wouldn't even go back and my report didn't get even a refund on the service call. All contractors are not the same. I was glad to interfere in that crooked attempt.
It’s not often that you get the owner of the company to come out for a routine call. We called because our heat pump did not turn on at all and luckily got the owner himself, Mr. Gary Houser. Even though it was after 5:30pm on a Wednesday, Mr. Houser came out to diagnose the problem personally. He really took his time to carefully explain everything that was going on and also how the system works in general. He made a diagnosis and due to our own personal obligations had to come back on Friday. He worked late into a Friday night to make the repairs. I never once felt that he was rushing just to “get the job over with” because it was late on a Friday night. He was knowledgeable, very patient, and never seemed exasperated by the situation. The work was also guaranteed both verbally and more importantly in writing right on the back of the receipt. We could rest assured that if the problem wasn’t solved, which it was, that Mr. Houser would stand behind his work. I would highly recommend his services to any of my friends and family.
Both my wife and myself accidentally paid the same bill from different accounts. Neither of us realized this, nor would we have figured it out.
