Dr. Dott is a miracle worker! I had been dealing with my medical issues for over 2 years and saw 8 doctors (2 of which were gynecologists) before finally discovering Dr. Dott. He solved my problems... in one visit. He not only is a genius, but he also has the kindest bedside manner. He is a problem solver and thinks outside the box, which I found is very rare with many doctors. From now on, I will be going to Dr. Dott for my annual visits, as well as for any gynecological problems I may have.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I found Dr, Dott on this site and now I know why he has such rave reviews. I'm past the childbearing years so I've seen him for potentially serious gynecologist issues. He put me at ease, was compassionate and very knowledgable and quickly resolved the problems. I couldn't believe how quickly he allowed me to see him and he even answered my email himself. His staff is very friendly and the office is sunny and bright. I'm very pleased to have found him!
I'll start by saying Dr. Dott is very experienced, knowledgeable, and pleasant to talk with. But from the handful of prenatal visits I had there, this was my experience: 1) The front desk staff seemed standoffish and at times acted confused about what was going on. Also, they only answer the phones between 9-12 and 1:30-3. With my work schedule, this made calling in for an appointment difficult. 2) During my first appt. the nurse gave me advice on what to do/not do while pregnant. She told me not to do any running b/c the baby might "detach". (???) I mentioned this to Dr. Dott and he waved it off, saying "she's just a nurse". I really hope he had a discussion w/her afterward, because that to me was a major red flag that his staff are not well educated. 3) During my discussions w/Dr. Dott, I felt like there was a lot of important information he didn't offer up unless I asked about it. (I'm glad I did my research beforehand so I knew what to ask!) Also, at my new ob/gyn, I got a ton of pamphlets w/info and pre-natal vitamin samples on my first prenatal visit. I wish Dr.Dott's office would provide something similar, at least for first-time moms. On the positive side, Dr. Dott is not one to obsess over some of the panic-inducing warnings you hear from other doctors about pregnancy. He's very relaxed about all the "do's and don't's". I'm the kind of person who wants to know about ALL the risks, no matter how small, so it just wasn't a good fit for me.
Our practice in always involved with on-going training of our staff, particularly new employees, to maintain the high standard we strive for. Constructive criticism, such as Savoryar's, is always appreciated so we can improve our services. Our office hours are from 8:30AM to 5:00PM daily. Our telephone is answered during that time. Our last appointments are at 3:30PM because our staff has young children and they to pick them up at day care or after school.
Dr. Dott came highly recommended to me. My first vist went very, I was pleased with him and the staff. However, my situation has changed. I no longer have health insurance and now have to rely on medicaid for my health insurance. I need to have a hysterectomy, is wondering if this type of operation would be covered with Dr. Dott? I hope so, Dr. Dott has won my heart and I feel he understands my needs.
It is very difficult to get an approval from Medicaid for a hysterectomy unless the medical reasons are well documented. I will try to help you but it may be difficult...
I had issues all my life and no one seems to find my problem. Dr. Dott took the time to speak with me regarding my medical history (We spoke for around 40 minutes) He did lots of test I have never get done. I'm sure he is going to find my problem. I trust him.
I'm only a few months into my first pregnancy but I have been pleased with the care that Dr. Dott has provided. I have never been thrilled in general about dr visits, but Dr. Dott makes me feel at ease. He is busy (although never had to wait more than a few minutes) but will take the time to answer your questions in depth if you take the initiative. He is also prompt responding to questions via email. I'm also impressed with his work with those less fortunate - he seems to have a good heart.
I came to Dr. Dott when I was 5 months pregnant, and he took VERY good care of me. In the delivery room, he was AWESOME!!! From now on he will be my regular gyn doctor, and when I have my next child, Dr. Dott will definitely be that one delivering. The staff in his practice are also very nice.
Dr Dott has a nice comforting character and I'd love to continue to go to his practice for my prenatal visits. One minor but could be important hindrance is that they don't validate parking so if the wait is long or if you need to get a blood test it can cost up to $5. (Our pediatrician in the same complex validates it to $1 for any length of time, so I don't see why they don't)
I was a patient of Dr. Dott's for 2yrs. I recently had to make the agonizing decision to end my pregnancy. Dr. Dott counseled me on the non-surgical option (that he would perform in office)and had to be undertaken by week 8. I called to set up a time for the initial injection and was told by Dr. Dott that he would have to check with Diane to ensure they had the proper dosage available in-office and that I should call back 1st thing in the morning. I called at 9am, Dr. Dott was with a patient and was supposed to call me back. I call again at 3pm and was told that there was a big patient emergency (which I totally understand happens)but that Dr. Dott was already gone for the day...and he would not be back until Monday. As I was in my 7th week and timing was important I was left completely in the lurch and with limited options. I spoke with Diane the following morning who simply directed me to go to a clinic. I was completely disregarded by Dr. Dott and his staff during one of the most difficult times in my life. Dr. Dott offered me an option that it took immence soul searching to get comfortable with, only to completely fail me as a doctor/healthcare provider. To this day I have still not been contacted by Dr. Dott or his staff other than an invoice for my last appointment/ultrasound. What was already a heartwrenchingly difficult experience was made 100 times worse by the failure of this Dr. to care for his patient or to follow through the discussed plan of care.
hi my name is lachuana and i have an appointment with dr dott soon for a surgery called hymenectomy.the purpose of this surgery is to remove my hymen because i am a vigin who have been trying to have intercourse with my husband for the last 2years without success. and believe me its been very frustrating and the worse thing is that it seems like i haven't had the chance to meet the right gynecologist since. thanks in advance for any response.
Lachuana-- I am looking forward to meeting you and your husband and, hopefully, helping you solve this problem. I know it is embarrassing and stressful to meet a new gynecologist when you have such an intimate problem but I am sure you will feel comforted, listened to and helped Dr. Dott
Just left Dr. Dott's office, my second visit with him. He is my first male ob-gyn, and the best I've ever had thus far. He is highly educated, and even offered very interesting ethnical/cultural facts about my condition. He is caring & thorough too. 250 words is not sufficient to express my appreciation. No one likes going to the OB-GYN, but this is as good as it gets.
I found Dr. Dott on Kudzu.com a few years ago and feel very lucky. He is sincerely caring and is an excellent physician. He has a small friendly staff and loves to help people. He is a great Dr. with a wonderful heart.
My partner and I came to Dr. Dott just over a year ago because my partner needed a hysterectomy. We had both avoided GYN appointments as long as possible because of bad experiences and discrimination with previous providers. Dr. Dott provided excellent counselling and thoughtful care before, during, and after my partner's surgery, and now he's my doctor, too. His office staff has always been kind and respectful, and we've never had any trouble getting appointments in a reasonable amount of time. He also returns phone calls promptly. I would not hesitate to send any friends or family to Dr. Dott.
Dr.Dott is an amazing physician he is very at tentative and truly makes you feel like you are the only patient that he has, for me being pregnant with twins was met with a wide array of emotions. I was so thrilled to have seen Dr.Dott on EVERY visit, he is just truly amazing he was so comforting and understanding, he actually made the 10-months of being pregnancy feel like a breeze, Dr. Dott delivered for my husband and I 2-beautiful healthy little girls FULL-TERM and I really appreciate him for that. Dr.Dott also comes complete with competent office staff as well, you will love, love, love Dianne and Cathy they are just the bomb, this office definitely sets the tone for what real patient care is, if you are looking for top notch OB care, look no further. Dr.Dott is a diamond in the rough.
I've visited Dr.Dott for almost 6months. He is very professional and he is ready to answer any of your questions. Because this is my first pregnancy and it is easy for me to get upset about everything, but Dr.Dott is so patient to help me get relax. Other two staffs in his office are very helpful and sweet. I really recommend this doctor to you.
I have never had a doctor sit with me in their office and discuss what I needed out of my doctor-patient relationship, expectations for the possibility of future children etc. This doctor's caring attitude about his patients is so seldom seen in other doctors these days. Very warm and friendly office staff. Currently not in the market for a baby, (just routine gyn app.s) but I really wish I were. Best doctor, hands down, that I have ever been to. (got lost on my way in to find the office)
I recommend Dr. Dott to any woman suffering through menopause. I received a hysterectomy with oopherectomy at the age of 22. I am almost 39 now. I have felt like half of a woman for quite a long time. Dr. Dott gave me a whole new lease on life. He listened to my problems, did a thorough exam, and then plotted my course to becoming a woman who feels whole again. I cannot stress enough how indebted I am to him for helping me. My husband recently went with me to a procedure and found Dr. Dott to be very kind, knowledgeable and very easy to open up with. Thank you Dr. Dott....
