Called on 7/31 in AM for service after discovering my tenants had switched the monitoring to Comcast (something that Ackerman didn't bother to tell me, so I kept paying the Ackerman bill). I was told the first avail. appt. was not until 8/5, but was PROMISED a scheduling supervisor would call me back within a couple hours. Well, that call never came on that Friday nor at anytime over the weekend. I gave them a call again on Monday AM and spoke to an Emily, who apologized that no one had called me and then said for the SECOND TIME that she would have a scheduling supervisor call me within a few hours to work me in. 6+ hours went by and never heard from anyone, so I called again. The THIRD time I called, I was transferred to a supervisor who told me that, despite what the previous two customer service people PROMISED me, that no one would call me unless an appointment opened up (I told her that would have been nice to know previously and that's the first I had been told that). She did not offer to move my appointment up to a time that worked for me or my wife, even after I told her that this had been going on since Friday AM and had been told by the two previous CSRs that somemone would call me back, but never did. The fact that Ackerman has been collecting my money, while another provider monitored my system for months just aggrevated me even more. Terrible customer service from a company that's literally 500 ft from my house...not a nice way to treat your neighbor!
Dustin, I apologize fore any miscommunication. The process is to schedule an appointment for an available date based on the call type and if an opening occurs sooner we contact the customer to see if their schedule accommodates the opening. We scheduled the appointment but perhaps did not make clear a call would follow only if an opening exists. I will review the phone calls and take the steps to insure this does not reoccur. I recently purchased a security system from Ackerman Security. I had become very uneasy with the crime taking place in my area. JW Bampton came out and gave my partner and myself a wonderful presentation. He took his time and was extremely knowledgable in his products. Once we made our decision the installation was done with speed and efficiency. I can't explain the amount of PEACE we feel knowing that we are walking into a safe and empty home every evening. I strongly recommend Ackerman and especially JW to anyone wanting the same peace of mind we now feel!
I was with another "big name" national company for years and had lousy service and a bill that kept rising. I got tired of the rising fees and no service (more than once, my alarm went off and no one called to verify, no fire department showed, nothing). I decided to give Ackerman a call. They switched me over free of charge and have always provided excellent service and a low monthly fee. I'm upgrading to wireless service and received excellent service from Keith Chapman. He was prompt, courteous, professional and very helpful. If you're looking for an alarm service company, you can't go wrong with Ackerman or Keith.
Todd Hudson of Ackerman will take care of you. We called him when we decided to upgrade our system because he was our original consultant when we changed companies. He is knowledgeable, courteous and will answer any and all questions. We have been greatly pleased with this awesome local company.
I've been a customer of Ackerman for over 10 years and have always felt very confident in the products and service. A few months ago I thought it might be better to go with the Canada-based company that offers Two-Way Voice Verification because nowadays when someone's home alarm goes off people just seem to ignore it (the way most of us do with car alarms) and Ackerman doesn't offer a similar service. Let me just say that I've been less than impressed with the other company's product (it's 100% wireless and about 70% of the time the system tells me "Cellular Signal Lost or Absent" - real secure, right?). Happily I've been welcomed back to Ackerman and my salesman, Roy Knight, couldn't have been more helpful in getting me back on board and helping me upgrade my old Ackerman equipment to the new Smartphone-capable one. I never had any complaints about Ackerman before - I just thought the 2-way Voice thing sounded better - like the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." 'Nuff said... Thanks, Roy and Ackerman!
