Consulting and Estimating:
POPS offers a landscape consultation service that includes an on site evaluation of your landscape needs. During that meeting one of our landscape professionals will assess your property, explore your likes and dislikes, and get a feel for your budget. The consultant will discuss ideas and concepts with you, complete a preliminary sketch of the property with the proposed landscape creation in mind, and answer any questions you may have.
Dont forget to inquire on our full-service maintenance program to find a solution that caters to fit your needs.
Please provide POPS with your plot plan or survey copy of your property at this meeting. POPS will provide you with a written estimate and a proposed contract within one to two weeks, depending on the complexity of the landscape project. The consultation fee is refunded as a credit on your final bill if you choose POPS to provide the landscape service.
I never came across a business that just didn't care about possible first time clients. I got rescheduled once and stood up another time! I left messages that I'd like a call back and they never... bothered to call me back. Not professional at all!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
We have very limited experience with landscape professionals & the little we had before POPS was terrible. So when we started to work with POPS we were nervous from the start. When Scott came to... discuss what we wanted for our yard it was clear he was knowledgeable & concerned with doing the best job for us. Their prices are comparable with what another company might suggest, however Scott did make suggestions for less expensive options in certain things and he didn't have to do that as we wouldn't have known the difference. I appreciate that he didn't take advantage of our naivety in this area. I found their company to be quite patient with me and all my questions. The previous landscape professional we worked with (before POPS) hung up on my husband when he called about a problem we were having & then refused to take our calls after that. POPS has been really great about keeping us informed and addressing every concern we've had. The team that worked on our yard was incredibly professional. I don't know what else I can say about these guys other than saying, I LOVE our yard now & I'm so happy we found this company for our landscape needs. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
Dave Gatti can sell a job but the entire company, including Dave, drop off when they are done. Job started in April and as of August 3rd remains incomplete. We have drainage issues and so do two of our friends. And none of us can get them to come back. Do not hire them, you will be disappointed.

I had 5 landscape design companies qoute a rather large job creating a back yard at my home where there was basically a landscape debris dump, large trees, and terrible topo. Dave came in and made an excellent 1st impression, had ideas that no other designer had for my back yard, and worked with in the budget that I asked him to. I was a bit leary due to some of the 2013 reviews for POPS on here but Daves first impression and creative design was outstanding as was his entire staff. Daves office manager, Amy, stayed in constant contact and would not process my final payment until I was 100% satisfied, which I was the day the job was complete, but she waited to process the final payment until some very minor itmes on the punch list were finished. Great attention to detail - Great Company. It doesnt take much for customers to complain but it takes an exceptional job to get customers to take the time to praise a job well done.
Dave Gatti and POPS will provide a great presentation to win the project bid, but when it comes to customer service they are simply terrible. Our neighborhood hired POPS to design and install major landscaping and masonry work at our neighborhood entrances. The final result was not worth the price and headaches. They installed trees and ornamental grasses in areas our grounds supervisor specifically told them not to. They reused liriope from the landscaping demo and tried charging us for the plants. They did not face the back of a large monument with stone and then said they would charge $1000 for a pallet of stone (minimum order). They used only about 12-15 sq. ft. of stone and said they would hold the remaining pallet for us at their office. We request our stone & were given excuses why they could not provide it. We went to their office to pay for and pick up the stone. Office reps wouldn't open the door...said they didn't know where our stone was...wouldn't take the check! POPS is a shady abusiness with low morals and no customer service! Avoid them like the plague! Don't get fooled by the smoke and mirrors!
They used to do my old house just the yard maintenance and did a fairly good job. I've moved and got some quotes that where high, and decided to do some of the work myself. After that I tried to re-engage them to do the yard work and help me plan out the landscape of the yard, and they set a time to come out and never called or showed. I've tried to give them work several times and they either no show, or are substantially higher than everyone else. I'm done and will begin my search for a new company. It's to bad I like to work local.
No question Dave is a true visionary and brillant at his work. The problem is not Dave's creativity and ability to transform any area into art work. The issue is the nature of landscaping requires customer service. No exaggeration, I must have called their office 20 times requesting they attend to some stonework issues. Finally, after months later we came out. We are planning on installing a pool and while we would love to use him again, it's simply not worth the stress and time of getting the customer service/follow-up needed. What a shame.
This is an update to a previous recommendation. Dave's creations are awesome but after you write the final check things go down hill fast. Don't bother with a Maintenance Agreement. You can pay but they don't show up. If you call for them to service landscape lighting, replace dead or dying plants, you may as well be calling your dead grandmother or just talk to the wall. Save yourself aggravation, hire someone else for your landscape projects.
Absolutely and without hesitation I'd recommend POPS. Hired them initially to do landscape and design within a tight budget, it came out perfect. Now use them for regular maintenance, lawn, seeding, chemicals and such. Simply thrilled. They truly deserve the Best of Atlanta designation they've recently been awarded.
Disclaimer: This is an updated review (original review gave 5 stars in all areas) to reflect our experience with POPS a year after work completion. We started off with a hill in our backyard and ended up with an exotic waterfall & more. What distinguished Dave from others was his vision and utilization of the existing landscape to create something bold yet natural. We knew going in that POPS was not the cheapest but we did not know until later that we overpaid by a lot. That wouldn't be so bad if they provided good service afterwards but if you ask around, there is a common theme about POPS: good work initially but poor service afterwards (which is why our entire subdivision terminated its relationship with POPS). Don't get me wrong, Dave can create something very beautiful with your backyard and he did with ours, which is why we initially recommended him to all our neighbors and went with them for our yard maintenance as well (which we are now cancelling because we are overpaying for this as well). But, if you encounter a problem after the work is done and the last check is written, expect to need to hound him and argue with him to try and get any problems fixed. Now, when people see our backyard and ask who did it, we still tell them POPS, but we no longer encourage them to choose POPS because of the service and followup issues we and our neighbors have had. My advice, avoid the subsequent headache, and just find someone else.
They're great at staying in touch with you up until you hire them. Then they're atrocious. How do you have service this bad in a weak economy?
POPS Landscaping corrected a property irrigation and erosion problem with an attractive solution. They proposed creative ideas and materials, completing the job on-time and to plan. The job site was kept clean and the owner came on-site to be sure I was completely satisfied.
After moving into a home that is serviced by POPS Landscaping I have tried to contact them many times and cannot get them to return my phone calls. I have met with them at my home for replacement of bushes under a plant health care plan and for planting of spring flowers and have had no response at all in over a month! I have called a few times and nothing. After a few calls and complaints about not return phone calls all I get is that "they are very busy"! I would not recommend them at all.
We hired POPS to install a water feature in the backyard and to regrade the terrain to correct erosion of existing garden walkways. The owner, D.Gatti, was on site throughout the project. He was terrific to work with as the project developed - including changes! Our stream and new landscape are incredible. Most importantly, David's professionalism and guarantee of his work is the best that we have encountered. His prices are worth the above-average products that he installs.
They do good work and it looks good but you will pay a high price for it. I paid close to $70K for a waterfall and pond. I knew I was over paying but got sucked into the moment. That was my mistake. But after you spend that much money, you would think good follow up service. Not here. I have been trying to get them to come out to fix a major leak in the waterfall and pond for the past two years. First attempt - I placed a service call and waited 3 weeks with no call back. So I called and complained but by this time I was so irritated I didn't want them to come out. Second attempt - they told me they have to charge me a service call fee. I just paid them $70K and they want to charge me more money to come out to just inspect the problem which I was told they offered a lifetime warranty on the workmanship? Third attempt - placed a service call two weeks ago. I was told someone would call me back to schedule a date. Still waiting. Should I hold my breath?
