Dauphin Tile and Remodeling

Bob Dauphin rocks !! We've used him for four bathroom remodels (two houses) over the last 10 years and he keeps outdoing himself.

For our last remodel Bob gave us a full custom marble shower, new 1.2 gallon flush toliet, and 25" vanity with a travertine floor and glass inlays !! He even custom crafted a marble alcove with round corners.

Bob personally took care of the plumbing/tile work and coordinated with the other subs for the electric drywall painting carpentry work so everything came together on time and on budget. Speaking of budget - when he encountered an unforeseable plumbing problem that caused him an extra day's work and material, he didn't go up on his quote one penny. Now how many contractor would do that ?

He's honest, reliable, and on time - in fact my only complaint about Bob is my having to get up every morning at 7:00 to let him in to work *smile*. Hire Bob Dauphin to do your tile job, you will be happy you did - and if you're lucky you'll get some of his homemade banana nut bread !

I "unfortunately" met Bob while my wife and I were browsing tile at the Floor and Decor, Clairmont Road location. Believe it or not, he was giving a class on how to install tile! Well, I had him come out and tile the floors in the kitchen, laundry, guest bath, master bath, as well as, a custom tiled shower, and the counter tops in the kitchen. The master shower leaked/ leeched water all through the shower walls, into the floor and down into the dining room below and onto the dining table. When my wife took a shower, in the dining room I noticed a dripping sound but didn't see any water. Before it became a problem I tried contacting Bob on several occasions and finally spoke to him once. He brushed it off and never came out to inspect nor repair. Well, I had to file a homeowner's claim and the entire shower had to be totally demolished and a new "correct" tile installation was completed. All the wood was rotten behind the tile do to it leaking. The entire dining room ceiling had to be repaired and painted, etc. The dining room table had to be sent off to a furniture refinishing company, etcetera. Damage and repair was over $7,000! Also, his personal morals are obvious and very questionable! He likes to talk inappropriately quite a bit.

I have Never been so dissatisfied with a contractor as I was and still am with Bob.

I decided to go with Bob after reading all of the reviews. I figured with this many, how could I go wrong? Well I was wrong. The floor is uneven in several places and I am going to have to end up having someone come out and fix those places. He said the tile would have a beveled edge and would have a nice, clean appearance. No go there. I am going to have several pieces ripped out and replaced. He gives a great warranty, however remember that the warranty only covers what he is willing to do over. In my case, I was told that it was a no go. If he would spend a little more time on the work, it could have been great. I feel that he was in a hurry to have the job done.

Now that it is a year later the grout is coming out between the tiles and the tiles are moving under my feet. And guess what? Cant find the guy. This guy is terrible. Please people- do not use this guy. It was very well possible that at one time he was a great tile guy but that is no longer the case!

This guy did a great job installing our tile! He was quick, accurate and affordable. I would use his service again.

Have used several installers in the past 15 yrs as subcontractors. Bob @ Dauphin has done a great job on my recent 500 sq ft of 18" floor tile w/o one mistake.
Would recommend Bob for any project.
