Horrible Service!, 10/20/2014

Dr. Beasley and his staff are highly incompetent. As a patient of the Center for Medicine, Endocrinology, and Diabetes, I should not have had to place 5 calls just to get an appointment. My calls... should have been returned in a reasonable manner. Medication re-fills should have been called in within 2 business days. It took weeks to get a re-fill on medication that I had to have to live. My pharmacist should not have had to reach out to the office for refills because staff would not return calls. When asked about issues, I should NEVER have been told by Dr. Beasley that he is sorry but he doesn't have an answer to problems that were endocrinology/medication related. I have left the practice, and will NEVER recommend this doctor or practice to anyone again. When I complained about the issues stated above, instead of calling me to apologize they discontinued treatment... it was fine with me as I had already discontinued my relationship with this practice.

Great Endo!, 3/28/2013

My PCP referred me to Dr. Beasley III (the son), but after reading the Kudzu reviews I decided to cancel my appointment and make an appointment with Dr. Beasley Jr. (the father). I am so happy that... I did. This doctor was excellent! I have been a Registered Nurse for twenty years and I cannot tell you the last time that I have seen a physician that was a thorough as he was. He graduated from medical school in 1949 and is a War World II Veteran so by my calculations he has to be at least 80 something. (That also lets you know that he is not randomly having his friends write great reviews online for him). Nonetheless, he is a wealth of knowledge, witty and has great bedside manner. I certainly would recommend him to anyone with metabolic/ endocrine issues. (Also, someone wrote that to Dr. Beasley III and Dr. Beasley Jr. is the same doctor. This is not true. They occupy the same office space but are two separate practices. )

Understanding, and compassionate.

Anyone dealing with thyroid issues knows how difficult it can be to get your doctor to take you seriously. Some people suffer for years trying to find the right doctor. I was so lucky to find Dr. Beasley Jr. through the reviews of other patients here on Kudzu. I've never had such a thorough history taken by a doctor in my life. Not by a Physician's Assistant or Nurse, but by the doctor himself. He was kind, patient and really listened to me. He and his staff are wonderful. My appointments always begin on time, and sometimes even early! Unheard of. I do not have insurance, and the staff at Dr. Beasley Jr.'s office are excellent at helping me combine treatments in order to reduce costs. I cannot recommend this wonderful man enough.

Simply the BEST!

Dr. Beasley, Jr has been my endocrinologist since 2007 and he is simply the best. When I was looking for an endo, I had several friends specify that it was Dr. Beasley, Jr. that I wanted to see, NOT Dr. Beasley III.... that's his son. I've never seen his son but from reviews I've read, I am thankful that I am a patient of the "older" Beasley. His staff {Marci & Amanda} are so kind and professional and Dr. Beasley knows his stuff. I am grateful to be a patient of this practice and HIGHLY recommend to anyone needing an endo.

careful and thorough

Dr. Beasley is thoughtful, careful and knows what he's doing. I chose him for his experience and I was not disappointed. If you're part of the hurry up me generation, then you should go see a "Doc in the box." If you want quality medicine, then Dr. Beasley Jr. is your man.

Worst doctor ever!

Dr. Ernest Beasly III (not Jr.) is the WORST doctor ever. I whish I never went to him based on the other reviews, but I felt like I did not have a choice since I was referred there by another doctor. I saw him for 2 years with no improvement (gained almost 10 pounds in the mean time). He refused to test my T3 and T4 saying "I don't need to know this to treat you". When I asked for different meds, he said he wouldn't b/c he does not believe in anything other than Synthroid! He laughed at me when I said that I started gluten-free diet (gluten protein-thyroid antibodies connection) and I take thyroid supplements. When I told him that I did not feel right (clouded mind, always sleepy, tired, overwhelmed, sad) although my TSH was normal, he told me he did not see anything wrong with me and I needed to see a psychologist - WHAT!!! Please do not go there. He will not make you feel better. I found a new doctor on Howell Mill Rd and feeling so much better already.

caring, sweet, and smart!

Dr. Beasley Jr (not his son, Beasley III, I've never seen him) is great! He spent such a long time with me, really listened, and was really sweet. One reviewer said he was "too old," but I think that's completely wrong. He's older, but he seems much younger and has continued working because of his love of medicine. He's funny, telling stories and stuff while you're there. He was with me for about an hour and gave me a chance to really explain everything. The office staff I interacted with was great. And I got my lab tests in the office! It was a great experience all around. I love this guy, I wish he was my primary doctor.

Uncaring Worst Doctor: Beasley III -NOT Beasley Jr

I should never have ignored the bad reviews here on this site for Dr. Beasley III....It's confusing on this site, b/c they interchange both the Beasley drs here in the reviews. I was in waiting rm for over 1-1/2 hr, Dr saw me for only 5 min. I was astounded at how he ignored all of my very serious symptoms, kept his back to me whole time, did not offer to run any tests whatsoever (even though I have a long history of serious thyroid problems), suggested that my problems would be best seen elsewhere...made me feel insignifigant. I went to another endocrinology practice several days later, and they did much testing and found my thyroid medication was wrong, that I had adrenal problems, as well as a rare form of diabetes insipidius. If this man had any desire whatsoever to be a good dr, he would have found these problems himself. I am extremely disappointed that I wasted my time with Beasley III. His father (Beasley Jr) may be good, but this guy (his son) is not. Stay away...esp. if you are a woman. He will make you feel like your fatigue is a mental problem you need to deal with elsewhere. He doesn't have time for you.

gets down to the real issue.

I have seen Dr. Beasley Jr twice. Excellent doctor!!! He spent 2 hours discussing my history and gave a very thorough exam. extremely knowledgeable and kind. He has 2 technicians which answer the phone and assist in rooms. I found it very difficult to call and make appts. b/c they have a vm and say they'll call you back in 24 hrs/next business day but in actuality its 2 to 3 days...so yeah making appts and getting ppl to call you back is very frustrating but the doctor and the quality of care in the office is above reproach. Also. parking...is less than desirable. It's hard to find the parking deck and you have to pay to park. overall I would recommend this doctor to anyone who's had conflicting diagnosis and is looking for the true answers.

I wanted to like him- Beasley III

Upon my initial visit, I knew I had Grave's disease. Dr. Beasley III discussed this with me and together we determined the best course of treatment. However, once I began anti-thyroid medication I (as a grown woman) developed SEVERE acne all over my back. It was awful! On top of that, I was so exhausted I felt like I was going to pass out 24 hours a day. In my subsequent visits, I expressed my concerns with Dr. Beasley but I kept on taking the same medication with no additional testing for my exhaustion. Upon my 6th month, I at least talked him into referring me to a dermatologist of which I got 5 Rx's and they didn't help :( I then called another endocrinologist in town and guess what, they did extra blood work and I have severe anemia, B12 and Vitamin D deficiencies...all which would make someone exhausted. I really wanted to like Dr. Beasley, III but I don't feel like he listens to what his patients are saying and most often I felt like I was running down the hallway to speak with him :(

Great Dr,

I have been seeing Dr. Beasley 10 years now and while I only see him yearly for a check up on my hypothyroidism he is very thorough! When my mom was hospitalized with a break due to osteoporosis he began early bone densities on me so we could catch problems for me early. I have recommended him to many of my friends and family and they all agree with me-he is kind and thorough-two of the best qualities a Dr. can have!

The Best!!

I was so upset when I found out I had hyperthyroidism. I have heard horror stories about endocrinologists so I looked online and saw all of the great reviews about Dr. Beasly Jr. He is such an amazing doctor - a wealth of knowledge and actually sits there until all of your questions are answered. The best doctor I have ever seen. Honestly!!

I have only been to see Dr. Beasley 2x, but already feel I am in great hands. He takes the time to hear and understand all of your needs and concerns. He sincerely wants to help his patients. His staff deserves credit as well for they are the kindest out there.
