Horrible!!!! Stay Away!!!!, 3/10/2015

This is my follow up response to this company's poor service. We did folllow up with our home warranty company who did infact send another company out for a second opinion after Piedmont Mechanical... told the warranty company that our unit had not been maintained properly in order to , in my opinion, have our claim purposely declined, then they provided an estimate to the warranty company for $700 dollars which would not be covered by the home warranty and be my out of pocket cost. The second company came out assessed our unit and totally disagreed with Piedmont Mechanical Finding's. The second company stated our blower was in working condition and it was in fact a faulty wire that needed to be replaced!!!!!!! A wire!!!!!!!! No gas line needed to be moved and our unit in the second company's opinion was maintained and accessible!!!! It is ridiculous that Piedmont Mechanical tried to collect $700 for a wire that needed to be replaced!!! Our unit was up and running within 15 minutes of the 2nd Company's Technician being here and replacing a faulty wire!!! Shame on Piedmont Mechanical for sending a dishonest technician who was in my house for a total of 3 minutes and lacked the knowledge to properly diagnose the problem then providing an estimate for $700 dollars to the warranty company

Home Warranty Sent them, 8/14/2014

I was having trouble with my air conditioner and the Home Warranty Company sent them out. The first time they came out,i told them the unit seemed to be struggling. They serviced the unit or oiled... the compressor and said everything was fine. Less than 30 days after that, my unit stopped working. I called Home Warranty back and complained. They sent them out again. This serviceman seemed more knowledgeable. He went up in the attic and told me what was causing the problem. He blew out the stopped drain. He then cleaned the unit and it has been working better and cooling much better since. He was much more thorough than the first serviceman that they sent.

Awful, awful, awful

(I would have given zero stars if I could). Home warranty company sent them. The techs don't seem to know much about HVAC and cause more damage than anything. I've been without AC for a month and today they didn't show--this was the fourth attempt at fixing my 2 year old AC that originally only needed freon. I am hot and I am furious. I have insisted AHS send me a new company as I refuse to let these incompetents on my property again. Don't let them near your AC; you will regret it.

The Worst

This is the worst contractor I have ever experienced. They are unprofessional and lack the technical skills to resolve problems. I have had a problem with my central air conditioning unit and used Piedmont Mechanical, it took 45 days of dealing with them weekly, there have been over 5 service calls to my home. I have asked to speak to a supervisor or the owner for 2 weeks and was ignored. Now, the problem has still not been resolved and I have flooding in my bedroom ceiling and they have told me that is not their problem. I did not expect perfection, but I did expect accountability for completing the work and also for any damages that may have resulted from their negligence. I have interacted with at least 3 of their service tech, nice guys but canít fix a problem. They also do not work on your problem on consecutive days. They visited my home once a week for 5 weeks. I would NEVER use or recommend this company for the above reasons.

The Worst

Unfortunately, they are contracted with American Home Shield (AHS) when my AC went out. If only I had choice before the dispatch to research. Glad to know I'm not the only one with issues. First thing that came to mind when I saw their rating was "Why does it not surprise me?" NEVER DO BUSINESS with them. They are making AHS look even worse. Terrible customer service. Missed appointment. Called AHS to get another subcontractor.

Just Aweful

This company is still horrible. I don't mind paying for a fair days work, but what I do mind is someone incapable of explaining how they came to the charges trying to strong-arm me and my family into paying an outrageous charge for unnecessary work. I don't know about you, but I work hard for my money and I don't like being swindled.

awful service

i had piedmont mechanical for several yrs due to the fact that i have ahs warranty. Both piedmont and ahs lie and send incompetent people to fix our ac and heating. They only put temp fixes on everything. I am without power now for a week because of piedmont mechanical

Horrible Experience

Piedmont Mechanical was assigned to me through my home warranty company. Their tech came out and initially misdiagnosed the issue. So we called and they sent another tech out. This time, they had to get the work authorized through the warranty company. After telling me for a full week that they were waiting to hear back from the warranty company, they finally called to get it authorized (I found this out through the warranty company). Then they told me the parts were on order, and they didn't know when they would come in. After numerous calls to PM and the home warranty company, I was finally told by the warranty company that my work order was denied due to some loophole in the coverage. Then why did PM tell me that my parts were on order if they already knew that the work order wasn't authorized??? And they either didn't give my messages to the manager, or he just refused to return my calls. Very unprofessional company - I wasn't surprised when I saw the other bad reviews on Kudzu, but I'm shocked that these people are still in business.

The Numbers Don't Lie

The multitude of 1 star ratings are no coincidence. Piedmont Mechanical is either a bunch of liars and/or incompetents (likely both). Their technician was hostile and had no idea what he was doing. He asked inappropriate personal questions and made us uncomfortable in our own home. He also tried to double charge us. The company's diagnosis of our HVAC was a lie. I had two separate HVAC companies confirm that PM wanted to do unnecessary and costly repairs. The main office will be superficially nice to you on the phone. Don't believe the charade. One other reviewer said it best: "AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE." PM has caused me more wasted time and agita than ANY company I've dealt with in my life. BEWARE.

Unreliable and Unprofessional

Scheduled an appoinment through my home warranty company. PM never showed and has not called. When I called them, I sat on hold for 30 minutes and finally just hung up. I called my warranty company and switched to another AC contractor.

Avoid Like the Plague

Deceptive practices including, selling you a $9.00 part for $250.00. Even after asking the tech if I could buy the part myself I was told they were "really expensive". Leaving old parts (dangerous explosive parts like a capacitor) in my backyard was the cherry on top. Finally a miswritten invoice that didn't even add up. The last part was a phone call in which a representative raged at me about how the part price included labor (even though labor is a different line item) and implored me to call someone then hung up on me. Oh and they were 3 hours late.

HORRIBLE!!!

Good luck trying to get Piedmont out to your house. They are unbelievably bad at communicating. Its hard to believe that a company this poor at handling reservations is still in business. I wish I could tell you about their service but it's been a week and they have yet to come out and look at my AC unit. Unacceptable for a company to not deliver on what they promised of simply coming and diagnosing my broken AC.

"Worst Service in Town"

Got this company dispatched to service my AC from AHS warranty. The couldn't even get it right to even set up an appointment. With temp @ 97 degrees I had to call them to ask about the appt, they are telling me they can only service my location between 8 - 11 am and cannot tell me when a pm appt can be arranged. Called three times and James who just cannot get it right and acted as if he was someone else on the last call just left me hanging on the line. After checking Kudzu and experiencing the same things I read there, called AHS and told them to send a professional to my home.
