I had Dog Gone Handy Team out to tackle multiple jobs. An external outlet issues, fridge issue and a garbage disposal challenge. I am not easy on vendors and hard to please. I met my match with... George ( my service representative) and Dog Gone Handy! All the work scheduled to be repaired by George proved to be an easier task-at least for George. George then asked repeatedly where else he could help me with some other projects that I was going to tackle on my own as we had addtional time left on the intial 2hr minimum. ALL the work performed was at a high standard.. George was incredibly pleasant, through, took the time to explain things to me and how to prevent some of the jobs in the future. I have already recommended them to many of my friends this week.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
Had some rotted exterior trim the HOA was nagging about so I researched some handymen services and reached out to a few. These guys responded promptly and scheduled an appointment. They were very... punctual and offered a repair for a very reasonable price. Their workmanship was excellent. Their spliced in trim was done better than most of the original builder's work was done. Would use these folks again and recommend them highly.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Doggonehandy was recommended to us for a major master bathroom rebuild. From design to demo. and completion they were perfect. We were amaized that any construction project could be perfect. This one was. Always showed up on time, finished on time, everything was neat and clean. We have just signed up for the guest bath renovation. Pricing was right in line. We really liked being able to have them design, and the option of them doing all the leg work ordering the fixtures, tile, vanities, etc. and doing the work. They are great and we recommend them very highly.
No bones about it - whether is's just a few stray odd jobs, or your digs need a large repair, DogGoneHandy does great work. Sometimes hounding your husband to help around the house can be a, well...you know. But don't be a weiner and try to do the job yourself - you're barking up the wrong tree! DogGoneHandy's service quality is consistently a tail-wagger, and the team is a treat to work with! Four paws up!
We have used Dog Gone Handy several times. As with any business, much depends on the workers available at the time you need the work done. But what is consistent is that they are consistently on time, they do what they say they will, they clean up after themselves, and they make it right if I am unhappy! Over all, a great experience (if remodeling can ever be called a "great" experience) with nice folks. These folks know older homes, and how to deal with the many problems that can be uncovered once the work begins!
Because I live in a 50 year old ranch house, there are always ongoing repairs and improvements to be done. I discovered DoggoneHandy several years ago and have used them for numerous jobs from replacing a ceiling to hanging a curtain rod in a stairwell. All of their work has been excellent and performed by friendly, professional and competent workmen. Further, they actually show up on time and respect my property be cleaning up after their works is done. I highly recommend them.
I have hired Doggone several times to do work I cannot do and work I don't have time to do. I have found their employees to be excellent craftspeople, polite, aware, and prompt. Everything has been done a specified, often better, at the prices quoted, when promised.
AFTER READING MY REVIEW BELOW, A REPRESENTATIVE (THE DIRECTOR OF MARKETING) TELEPHONED ME TO SAY REPEATEDLY THAT THE COMPANY ALWAYS ADVISES POTENTIAL CLIENTS THAT IT CHARGES A $50 TRIP FEE, AND THAT I FAILED TO HEED THE MESSAGE. I INSISTED THAT I HAD NOT BEEN ADVISED, AND AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE BOSS, THE MARKETING DIRECTOR ADVISED THEY WOULD RETURN MY $50. I HAVE RECEIVED A CHECK FOR $50, AND I THANK THEM. I called on 2/5/07 with one quick need and for estimates. Guy fixed quick problem on 2/6 & listed other needs BUT charged $65 an hour PLUS $50 TRIP CHARGE- $147.50 for 1 1/2 hours! Next day a call on answer machine from "John" saying had to have "Finance rep" come out for repair estimate. I called back and left okay on his voice mail. NEVER heard from them again. My repairs were no stingy job, either.
My experience was similar to another poster. After several no call-backs/no shows I called Doggone Handy. My handyman, Rufus, was very professional and provided excellent work. I thought the price was more than fair based on what others had quoted. I definitely plan on using them again.
Its been a couple of years since I last used this company. But they are still providing excellent service. From the office staff to the handyman himself I couldn't ask for better service. They are courteous, clean, and efficient. They knew what to do and did it right the first time. I'm DogGoneHappy with this company.
I have a house I am selling and needed a few minor repairs done. I called to schedule an estimate and was informed that because these repairs are listed on an inspection letter there would be a $175 fee for the estimate (that would later be applied toward the work if I went with this company.) John told me that they charged this amount because "so many times they go out and do estimates and don't end up getting the job"-- to me this says that maybe their prices are not competitive?? After some discussion, he said he would waive the fee this time, but I declined to do business with them. I think if you advertise a free estimate, you should give a free estimate-- or at least make the exceptions clear in your ad!!
We are new to the area and after several disappointing experiences with handypersons (no shows, excessively expensive) I called Doggone Handy. They were professional, sent someone prepared specifically for my job that required at least a 20 foot ladder and performed the work excellently. The service person let me know several times that he wanted me to be happy with the work. They willingly came back to make a minor adjustment. The price is fair and I will definitely be using them again.
I have done 3 projects with doggone handy and have been very happy with the service and professionalism. The best thing is that I know that months later, if I'm not 100% happy, I can call them and they will come "fix" it. No doubt I will be using them again and again and again!
Having the guys at DogGoneHandy redo my bathroom was a surprisingly good experience. They finished under-budget, and when they said they would. I recommend them whenever I can.
Over the last couple of years we have used DogGoneHandy for small projects (installing a vent fan) to large scale projects (redoing a basement bathroom, tile work). Are they the cheapest in town? Proabably not...but they are worth every penny. It's rare that you work with a company that is as responsive and reliable as DogGone Handy. EVERY person that has worked at out house has been top notch - they care about the work and are extremely professional. I learned a long time ago that "cheaper" is never better. Call these guys, you won't be dissappointed.
I've used kudzu.com often and this is the first disappointment. Just not pleased with their service.
Thomasj, As president of DogGoneHandy I am very concerned about each and every client's experience .....particularly yours.
In fact we have built a reputation for listening and responding to feedback and constructive criticism. As a result we have an extremely high client satisfaction level, and an excellent relationship with our clients, who use our services over and over again. I would like to understand what your dissatisfaction was, and to this end we have called and sent a letter over a week ago. I was hoping to have a discussion on this matter so we can help understand the problem, and remain open to doing so.
