Shady Grove built us a new front porch along with a veneered stone wall and sidewalk. We're very pleased with the outcome. Tina and Danny were fun to work with and the crew was always on time. ... We'd recommend them for any landscaping project!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I just wanted to send a big “Thank You” to Tina, Danny and the rest of the Shady Grove Landscaping Team. We really needed some help with our backyard. Tina started us off with her wonderful... landscape design and then Danny took over with the install. I can’t say enough how happy we are with the finished product. They did an excellent job and stayed on schedule. Please contact them if you ever have landscaping needs.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
Our first great experience with Shady Grove was in 2009. Since that time we have had Tina, Danny and their crew back for three more projects. Each time the design enhanced what was done previously. With the deluge of rain last summer, we had to address some drainage problems that cropped up and Tina’s suggestions worked out perfectly. We now have a variety of plants around our stone walkway to reduce the runoff from a hilly area. The stone boulders strategically placed on another hill helped slow down/divert water (and mulch) from washing down the hill. The stone “smile walls” also look great on our sloping lawn. Tina is an expert at selecting plants that will thrive in any area (shade or sun). Everything went well as always. The Shady Grove crew is efficient, friendly, knowledgeable, and leave everything in a super fantastic condition when they are finished. Again, I say “WOW.”
This was a major renovation for us and we really wanted to be comfortable with the right partner. Tina did an amazing job designing a new backyard that met every need we had, including budget. Then Danny an his team were always on time, respectful and kept us informed along the way. I would recommend Shady Grove to anyone who asked!
I wrote several good reviews about the Shady Grove you'd think I get paid for it. I wish! Instead I'd be happy to pay them again because I am confident no matter how small of a job, they will do it with perfection. This summer we discovered some major irrigation problems that caused basement flooding. Shady Grove came and identified the problems. During the work, new issues were discovered. Danny (PM) made sure I understood the problem and felt comfortable with the extra cost before proceeding. It's been months and several major rainstorms and our basement has stayed dry. That's good quality work. Shady Grove built our deck one year ago. Some side panels warped. I showed Danny during the irrigation job and he said he would fix them. Fixed he did, even though it takes months for him to contact the manufacturer to get the materials and special screws. That's good services.
Tina Cook and her team were wonderful to work with. They kept appointments on time or rescheduled due to rain, and were friendly and efficient while working. Their expertise gave us a beautiful front yard.
Shady Grove was fantastic to work with. They created a backyard that we now absolutely love. They were incredibly flexible throughout the whole process and worked with us on changes to make the yard exactly what we wanted right in the middle of the project. We felt that they worked hard to create a space that fit us and our lifestyle and needs.
It's hard to say anything that hasn't already been said! They listened to what we wanted and worked with our budget. They suggested a creative re-use of some retaining wall stones that were being taken out of our current setup even though it meant we would not be buying new material from them. Though we haven't had a monster rain storm yet to know for sure, I feel confident that they have solved our draining problem as well. We'll have them back again when we're ready for the next project.
We loved working with Shady Grove. Tina and Danny Cook impressed us from the very beginning with their 3D design presentation. We hired Shady Grove to help fix our yard’s multiple drainage issues and renovate our sloping, overgrown backyard. We also wanted to update our exterior and install sod and an irrigation system. The finished product was more than we ever imagined and we are thrilled with their work. We were quoted a timeline of one month to complete our project and Shady Grove provided us with a comprehensive work schedule so we always knew when they would be arriving and what they were working on that week. Their crew is very professional and courteous and they always left their work area clean and clear of debris. To update our home exterior, they installed flagstone pieces on the bottom part of the house and a beautiful flagstone walkway that significantly improved our curb appeal. What was most impressive is they actually care about their work and stand behind their warranty. When our waterfall got blocked up by some debris, they came out the next weekend to repair the blockage with no questions asked. Every day I come home, I smile at the outcome of all their hard work. Shady Grove is by far the best landscaping company I’ve worked with and I know I’ll be hiring them again for my next project.
We appreciate the good work you did on our major hard scape and landscape project and standing by your job. Would definitely recommend for large projects
We have worked with Shady Grove on three major projects. The project commenced with with a landscape architect to construct a comprehensive design for front and back yard. Once complete, they installed extensive plantings, sod, in both the front and back yard, they installed an irrigation system, and finally excavated a large area where we eventually installed two retaining walls. Special accolades to Shady Grove on the plantings, sod installation, and resurfacing back yard. Beautifully done, and almost all plantings are healthy and thriving. With any project this significant, problems arise. Shady Grove came back even after job completion to resolve those - much appreciated. I am a repeat customer..great company.
We were very happy with Shady Grove Landscape Company and would highly recommend them. Tina and the rest of her team did a great job transforming our overgrown backyard into a masterpiece.
I found Shady Grove on this site and am very pleased with their work. My twenty year old landscaping had developed several issues including dead turf areas, a barren backyard and overgrown trees. When Tina came out, I felt like she truly listened to what I wanted (and didn’t want), which was not the case with a couple of other bids I received. She designed a great plan within a limited budget to solve the problems. All communication was excellent, execution was flawless, and Danny was great to work with on the installation days. It's been a few weeks now, I've received many compliments from neighbors, and the new plants are thriving so far. Finally happy with my yard again!
Tina and Danny at Shady Grove did a masterful job with our project. They coordinated everything, from design to contractor management (concrete, irrigation, electrical) and the results couldn't be better. We have the best yard on the block and are very grateful for the patience and professionalism of their entire team. I would highly recommend them to friends and family. Well Done!!!
Had them put in a dry creek bed for aesthetic reasons and to hopefully correct a big drainage issue at the same time. They almost solved it the first time, but a heavy rain showed a little remaining drainage problem. They nailed the problem on the second trip out. Creek bed looks great and like it has always been there. Our drainage issue is gone. We WILL use them again as they are the real deal and have a sharp focus on customer service.
Tina is a talented landscape artist who is committed to her clients. Her attention to detail when it comes to landscape design is evident upon completion of her projects. Tina and her crew were professional throughout the transformation of our front yard. THANK YOU!
We greatly enjoyed the opportunity to install this fun, Mediterranean design, front-yard makeover. Thanks so much the the opportunity and your kind words!
Owner brought her large dog for the estimate who ran our & our neighbor's yard unleashed-inappropriate. Nice proposal for half the yard, but she proposed to do nothing with half of yard with significant water/drainage issues. When challenged to consider this, owner proclaimed "Look, I'm an expert." Then stated "Look,I have a family". If you'd rather spend Saturdays with you family, don't scheduled appts. on that day. She then apologized for being unprofessional. I told her she needed to leave. True "experts" don't need to make such proclamations and are humble enough to admit that they don't know everything. Rude...and bad experience. Makes me wonder about some of the other reviews.
Shady Grove is sorry to say that this review reflects the combative nature of this interview. What a horrible experience for everyone! While the majority of this meeting was conducted with Mr. Client, Ms. Client stepped in at the end and persisted in her opinions about her yard. After 10 minutes of a building disagreement, our owner tried to simply agree to disagree and get up to leave. Ms. Client then began verbally abusing and insulting our owner who, regretfully, lost her cool. Raleigh, the dog, goes everywhere with the owner for protection. She always asks permission from perspective clients for his presence which was granted by Mr Client. The dog was never left unsupervised and remained in the truck during the inside interview. Please read our other ninety genuinely good reviews as we believe this review does not reflect the usual Shady Grove Landscape Company experience.
Since 2009, Tina, Danny, and crew have transformed our property in several stages. The first project addressed 1) drainage problems, 2) our need for fast-growing foliage for privacy, and 3) aerate, condition soil, and reseed with fescue. In 2011, our back and side yard needed new French drains and a new stone path. In 2012, we made the big decision to install Zoysia turf and a sprinkler system. For each project, Tina gave us suggestions that fit our taste and our budget. After many projects, we couldn't be happier.
