We needed a hardwood floor refinished after water damage. They came when they said they would, they did excellent work at a great price. Our floor has never looked this good.
Daniel's Floors refinished 1100 sqft of oak hardwood floor and installed 340 sqft of new floor to match. This was as two separate jobs. The quality of Daniel's work is outstanding. At one point I... found him kneeling on the floor very carefully shaving one board to match the adjacent plank with a razor blade in an area that the sander could not reach. He also replaced transition moulding, installed stain matched quarter round, refastened some loose sections, and replaced a few water damaged boards. His attention to detail is fantastic. I am truly mystified at some of these reviews. Laura was very flexible when I had delays due to other contractors. Everyone was courteous and professional during both of our jobs.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
We were very pleased with the job that Daniel and his crew did. We had a lot of square footage, multiple woods, and water damage but they made it all look brand new. They checked in with us all through the process to ensure we were happy with the result. They were professional in every respect and I am very comfortable recommending them. The price was very reasonable.
They did a fantastic job refinishing our floors. We wanted the floors to be distressed/antiqued and they turned out better than we imagined. In fact, we suggested that they take pictures to show other prospective clients who might be interested in a similar finish. They are professional and courteous to work with, offer excellent customer service, and did quality work at a very fair price. We would absolutely recommend them to friends and family. Thanks, Laura and Daniel for doing such a great job.
This was a fun project. My daughter and I banged up the floor with all sorts of stuff to make it look like the floor has been around awhile. We got pretty creative to make the impressions on the floor look authentic. I am really glad you are pleased with the results! Thanks for writing review.
I do recommend this company to refinish floors. They did a great job at a competitive price. They were flexible too.
We really appreciate the recommendation. We have built our business on referrals and personal recommendations. We are glad you selected us for your floors!
I cannot praise Daniels Floors highly enough! The transformation of my 40+ year-old red oak flooring from dull to amazing was incredible. Daniel, Laura and crew were courteous, professional and their work was amazing. Highly recommended!
Thanks very much for taking time to write such a great review! Personally, I love it when we are able to reveal the beauty beneath a worn finish on older floors. As an HGTV addict, I am thrilled to be able to help clients renovate their homes. Laura
Daniels Floors recently refinished the hardwood floors in our home and we were extremely pleased. They were very conscientious and careful and the result is beautiful. They did the complete job when we were out of town, finishing with 3 coats as they recommend. Everything was done to our complete satisfaction and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone!
We are glad you selected us for your floors. You have a fabulous home! We are honored to have contributed to your elegant decor. Thanks for the review!
We had daniels floors completly re-do our hardwood floors on a newly purchased home. The new floors made it look like a new house..we were amazed with the quality and swiftness of the whole project. We highly recommend this company!
The price was right. The work was great. The results were good. I will use them again.
We are glad this client saw our on his neighbor's floors and gave us a call. Personal referrals have helped us build our business. We really appreciate the review and look forward to working with this client again in the future!
Daniels floors did a fantastic job on my floors. Laura is very personable, easy to work with, and always available for questions. The crew was polite and took time to protect my house from extraneous dust. I definitely use Daniels floors again if needed, and would recommend them to my friends and family.
I was blown away when I visited a friend from my church who had just gotten new wood flooring in the middle of an area surrounded by wood flooring. I had been to her home many times and I could not tell the new floor from the old floor. She gave me the phone number for Daniels Floors. I called in the morning and Daniel came to my home that afternoon. For the past couple of years, I’ve wanted to get rid of the stained berber that was in the middle of our open floor plan but I did not want my floor to look like patchwork. I never imagined that I could get wood put in that matches the rest of the wood until I saw it done at my friend’s house. I had my new wood in that very weekend. A week later, all of my floors were refinished at the same time the new wood was finished. The results were incredible! I am so glad to be rid of that nasty carpet! I updated the color of the wood with a darker color. Our home has been transformed. As a stay at home mom, I am the one who handles all of the repairs and home maintenance. I have dealt with lots of contractors. This was, by far, the best experience I have ever had with a contractor. The crew always arrived and left on schedule. They worked diligently and cleaned up at the end of the day. Everything went very smoothly. I have already passed on Daniel’s information to other people who saw my “before and after”.
We were very disappointed. They painted the molding a different shade of white than the trim, & they put some of the new white paint on the existing trim. Now we have to repaint the whole area. If they'd just asked us, we would've given them the existing paint. They also got some of the white paint on the carpet on our stairs. Also, they scratched some of our furniture when they moved it out of the room. The woman we spoke w/ assured us they'd be careful. Disappointing.
NOT OUR CLIENT. FALSE REVIEW. We do not paint the molding - ever! We stain it to match the floor or we install molding that we purchase already PRIMED white. Former clients will confirm this. This is from a jealous competitor. It is unfortunate that some people resort to these tactics.
I am retracting my review as some of the response from the company below is inaccurate and untrue. I never said that the floors looked bad. I just tried to share our experience with this company. I am sorry that the owner felt the need to berate the customer. They lost referrals from us.
Daniels Floors did a very good job on the floors. Laura and Dan were very pleasant to work with for the most part and tried to do a good job. The floors turned out pretty good, but I would highly recommend three coats of polyurethane as opposed to the two coats recommended. The stairs are a different story. After hiring a carpenter (Laura's words), the work does not look professional at all and it leaves a lot to be desired. The workers knocked down an oversized clock from the wall, chipping/breaking a portion of the handle. They also knocked down a wall curio cabinet from the wall and shattered several Swarovski pieces and permanently damaged the cabinet. The workers arrived late - and I don't mean one or two hours - each scheduled work day with the exception of the very first day. There was a serious problem communicating with the workers. I would recommend Daniels Floors to install floors but would not recommend them for stairs. I made my selection to hire Daniels Floors based upon reviews that I read and in retrospect, no one had ever commented on stairs so here is my rating.
We really bent over backwards to make this lady happy. We put stain samples on the floor for her to select the floor color. She selected a color and several days after we finished the floor, with three coats of polyurethane, she changed her mind and said she hated the color. We refinished the entire home with a different color,at no cost to her. Her original proposal was for three coats of poly. I suggested two coats due to her budget constraints. As for the stairs, Daniel installed the stair treads and risers. The client was not satisfied. She had a "contractor" friend who came over at the end of each day and picked apart our work without knowing what he was talking about. For example, he told her that the plywood we used for the risers would not support the staircase. Risers are decorative and do not support anything. We replaced thin particle board with plywood. Since she was dissatisfied with the stairs, I hired a carpenter to come in and rebuild the stairs at our expense. Stair treads are incredibly expensive. Every issue and concern she had was addressed in keeping with our 100% client satisfaction policy. As for the arrival time of the crew, when we sand the floors, we apply the coats of polyurethane in the afternoons. Each day we told her they would be back the following afternoon and each morning she called to see where the guys were. As for the broken items, this is the first I have heard of any items being broken. The area we worked in was completely empty. We installed and finished hardwood floors. The walls had been painted just before we arrived. Her belongings had been removed. I am sorry to hear of the damage to her belongings, however; if something of mine had been broken, and I suspected a contractor, I would have mentioned it prior to making the final payment, not in an internet posting months later. After the senior citizen discount, the cost of completely refinishing her floor again and the cost of hiring contractor to rebuild the stairs, we lost quite a bit of money on this job. Regardless, we did everything in our power to ensure she was pleased with her new floors. In the end, this client raved to us about the floors and stairs. We do appreciate the feedback.
great family owned business. I spoke to 3 of their prior customers who all raved about the service, quality and price, before I committed. Daniel and his team did a fabulous job putting in hardwoods throughout the entire first floor. Laura coached me thru the entire process. They completed ontime despite several obstacles i inadvertently put in their way. My neighbor, who is very particular, signed them up to install and refinish his floors immediately after seeing their great work. Hire them!
Thanks for the kind words. We discovered particle board under some of the carpet. Hardwood flooring cannot be nailed to particle board, so I had to contact the client with the bad news that there was an unforeseen problem. We use our proposals as invoices and rarely does a situation occur where we have to add to the price. When it does occur - we keep the cost as low as possible. This client was very understanding and actually added money on to the amount due when the job was complete. We really appreciate her referral of the neighbor's job.
Superb service and fansastic job with our floors...Laura is a gem and this company is highly recommended
This was an old warehouse in the Bennett Street Arts District. It was a really cool space with horrible old floors. A couple of business women converted the space into a yoga studio. They wanted the floors stained with Minwax ebony. That was an excellent choice. The photos are part of our profile.
I was looking for a hardwood flooring company that could turn my 1990 oak hard wood floors from boring to WOW, and did I get it! Daniel's Flooring turned my blonde hard wood floors into Jacobean (dark) in 3 quick days. The floors look new, and have added quite a punch to our house. Daniel and his crew were very nice, on time, and started and finished the job when they said they would. Laura is a great project manager. She always answered the phone, and would get back to me right away if I had a question she could not answer. We have since moved into the house, and when the movers caused 4 scratches and grooves in the wood, they came back the day I called and fixed them. A really positive experience!
Thanks! I love the dark stains on hardwoods. Most clients are a bit nervous about staining the floors a really dark color, but this couple had experience with dark stains. The previous golden color seemed dated in this elegant home. We are glad to have been part of the transformation and enjoyed working with this client.
Daniels was very responsive to our needs and gave us great results. Neighbors and friends have all had positive comments. I will use them again.
