We used a different company but felt like they were constantly trying to up sell with products and services. It got very frustrating and we felt like we could not trust them. My sister in law uses... Reliable so we decided to as well and I am really happy we did. We got an email letting us know our technician was on the way and a phone call as well, which is very nice as we have dogs and needed to put them up. Lawrence Overstreet was our technician as well as Kenneth Lee. They were both super friendly and talked to us about our system and the ducts. I really felt like I could trust them. They were knowledgeable and very helpful in deciding our future course of action. I will absolutely use Reliable again as well as recommend them to friends. It's really nice to know that we now have an HVAC company we can trust. Thank youVIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

I have used them for both plumbing and HVAC. They are on time, polite, and efficient. They also have good deals for regular maintenance of HVAC.
I have a service agreement with Reliable for many years. My last bi-annual visit from them was in early June. At the beginning of July I had lots of company in town. My AC unit on the 2nd floor died on Saturday morning. We immediately called Reliable. They made an appointment with us for the following THURSDAY! 5 days!!! So much for being a loyal customer. Well it is now 2:45 p.m. on Thursday and still no repair person. We have had no AC on the 2nd and 3rd floor of our home since Saturday morning. I work from home so I have had to move my entire office down to the first floor. And, sleeping at night has been a chore with company still here. I just spoke with Reliable again and they have NO ETA on when a technician will arrive. So much for being reliable. I am not a happy customer. Time to find another company who cares about my loyalty and can appropriate respond to my needs.
Thank you for your feedback and comments. This summer has been very tough on all air conditioning companies as the heat came on strong and never let up. We are expanding our service tech count as we have seen our customer base grow every year as we do a better job and people migrate over to us from other companies. In order to better service our customers, we are now offering a computer system we install on our customers HVAC system that monitors operation of every component on a system for proper operation and looks the possibility of an actual breakdown. We will be able to call our customers ahead of time and fix a problem before it even occurs. No other company in Georgia can offer this service and we will able to even out the work load and be proactive before you are left without cooling or heating. The computer uses the internet in your home to email us and you and alert you weeks ahead of an actual breakdown. The way the air conditioning business works now, is everybody wants service at the same time when temps go up to the mid 90’s and no company can handle all these calls at the same time. With this new monitor system, we could have fixed your problem weeks ago while it was still running. I apologize we did not get to you quicker and I hope you were repaired the afternoon after your wrote this, but as a way of thanking you for your business and making sure this never happens again, if you call our office and identify yourself, I will give you a monitoring computer system at no charge and I guarantee you will love the ability to see into the future and check the proper operation of your unit. I will give you an app for you smart phone that you can check from anywhere in the world to see how your heating and cooling is operating and if it is efficient. Call Steve Hallock at our office and he set up a time to have this computer installed for free. Thanks for the chance to make this right, Dan Jape. Owner
My wife plugged into an outlet one day and half the electrical circuit on the lower floor of our house went dead. She called Reliable. They said it would cost $89 just to roll the truck, but they offered an altenative - they would happily sell us their $100 "Peace of Mind" package, which includes a "visual" inspection. Would this would allow them to determine what the problem was – no – we found out later the visual inspection is just that – a look. How much can you discern about an electrical system from a look? Unless sparks are flying out of your outlets, nothing. That's where it got ugly - in order for them to engage in any troubleshooting whatsoever, you must pay for a "Level 1 Diagnosis." Cost: $245! Since I was able to point to the outlet where the trouble originated, this "diagnosis" took all of five minutes. Did I mention that any repairs needed after the 5-minute $245 diagnosis are extra? The technician magnanimously offered to rescind the "Peace of Mind" package and replace the outlet at no charge - oh thank you, kind sir! We thought that we might have some additional wiring issues that might be determined via the "Peace of Mind" package, but we certainly couldn't afford to find out once we discovered that it would cost $245+ just to address the issue we already knew of. The only thing you can "rely" upon with Reliable is that you're gonna get fleeced. Caveat emptor.
I apologize our pricing was not explained in a manner that made sense to you and you were comfortable with. We do charge to have a truck come to your home, as it costs us around $80 per hour to dispatch to your home. The $89 is waived if a customer actually does the repair needed. But some people simply take the information we provide and attempt to fix the problem themselves and then we do collect the $89. The Level 1 diagnosis is a package that includes the time needed to check and inspect the wiring & breakers. It can take a couple of hours or longer. If there is a problem in one outlet, there are more in other outlets. The other day, I saw a number of breakers that were all burned and charred out of a new home that the builder had installed improperly. The electricians stayed with this call, which started out as a "one outlet problem" and found many outlets ready to burn this house to the ground. This customer did not feel "fleeced" at all. It is extremely expensive to have vans all around Atlanta to come to a customer’s home and fix problems onsite and I am not ashamed by our charges. In the end, Reliable nets about 5% total in profits on everything we do. I can't think of any other business that comes to a customer and provides a service that exists on margins like this. If you feel that a profit of $12.25 on your charge of $225 is fleecing you, I have to disagree. The "Peace of Mind" plan you mention is a bargain, as it includes an electrician visually inspecting and checking all circuits for proper grounding and excessive heat build-up, checking the electrical panel and breakers for burned buss bars and cracked breakers, checking for the proper grounding of your electrical system and making sure your family is safe and secure from issues arising from possible electrical fires and electrocution. These are all things a trained electrician can accomplish with a visual inspection and I think it is a huge value. I had one at my home and the tech found three of my "white" outlet covers behind my son’s bed were now tan or beige and when removed, found the wire in the wall had burned, heating up the cover. The next step would have been an electrical fire, so I know firsthand what a visual inspection can reveal. How you can say "you can’t afford to find additional wiring" issues? What price is too high for your safety? I normally do not get ruffled by people posting negative reviews, as I use them as a learning experience to improve my company, but your review really hit home with me after discovering my own home almost burned to the ground, but for the "Peace of Mind" inspection. If you change your mind about an inspection, I will give it to you free as I am also concerned about the wiring in the rest of your home if you already had the problems you mentioned. Call me up and there will no charge so we both can have peace of mind. Dan Jape, owner.
Ok I called to see about service. My AC was out. The person on the phone said "We have a $99 service fee. How would you like to take care of that?" She did not tell me when someone was available or even ask what the problem was. I then said "Wait, you are ready to crawl into my wallet, without even telling me when someone is available? I need to know because I may have to call another place. You seem more concerned about getting money than setting up the appointment. She then said, "Ok sir, we can have someone come out on Monday." It was Monday, she was talking about a week. It was 94 degrees that day and was going to be 95 the next day. I then said "No thanks. I need to call someone else anyway." I did, They came out on Tuesday and did NOT ask me for money until they completed the work.
Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am not sure what happened as you called around looking for a company to provide service for you, but two things sound very odd about your experience. First, we never ask for or receive payment before we provide service to a customer. I would never agree to this at my home and would not ask my customers to do this. I spoke to every customer service rep we have to make sure we have never asked for advance payment and confirmed we never do this even if a customer has a record of returned checks with us. We always do the work first than ask for payment and never put the "cart before the horse". We do tell a customer there is a charge for our service, as many times a week, we are asked to provide "free" service calls to diagnose s service problem with their unit. No legitimate HVAC company has "free" service as it costs us $78 per hour per man to actually drive to a home for an hour. Some companies advertise "free" service calls only to get in the home and take advantage of the customer and overprice the repair. Most all companies today use a flat rate price book like a body shop uses that should make the actual cost of a repair the same no matter which company does it. These "free" companies will increase the actual repair to cover their costs getting to the home. The other part of your review that seems odd is we do not charge $99 for anything. A service tune up is $79 and a broken unit repair call is $89 and both of these charge have been this amount for years. The costs of providing a tech to your home includes workers comp insurance, federally mandated health insurance, gas, vehicle insurance and up keep, hourly pay for all the time it takes to drive to a home, which can be over an hour by itself in rush-hour traffic, building insurance, mortgage payment, electricity and gas for our office so the reps have a place to sit and answer calls, phone service, computers and the list goes on and on. A portion of all of these costs have to be recouped from our customers or we cease to be here. Anyone who has ever run a business can understand this, while many that haven't do not give credence to this. They feel some number they come up with is a fair and equitable fee for an in-home service company to charge, but the reality is it is a sum of the total of the costs listed. I am curious if possibly when you were calling multiple companies to get service quickly, you confused us with another company who charged $99 upfront? Or perhaps, it was just confusion caused by my rep when she mentioned we do have a charge for service. Either way, I apologize it did not work out in a positive experience, which is always my goal. Once again, thank you for feedback because without it, we would never be able to get better. Dan Jape, owner.
Cain and Anthony came over the same day that I called for an appointment. They installed a vanity with top and faucet, pvc piping under a bathroom sink, along with a new faucet in the kitchen. The faucet in the kitchen required lots of "extras" due to the older pipes and valves underneath the sink. These guys went the extra mile to make sure everything was in working order!
Justin Shepard and his partner did our duct cleaning. very professional and thorough... Reliable has replaced one of our systems and we have used them for other services also. Unfortunately, Justin's truck was not equipped with a camera to look through the duct system when the work was completed. Over all very satisfied.
Lawrence Overstreet was our Tech on 7/3/15. He was punctual, polite, knowledgeable and professional as he did the semiannual service on our two units! Andrew B.
We have used Reliable for 3 years now and couldn't be happier wit the service. They are on time and friendly and are able to describe the work needed (if any) in an easy to understand format. I highly recommend Lawrence Overstreet (our wonderful tech) and the Reliable team!
They worked on my A/C unit to the tune of $500, it failed within a week, and they will not dispatch someone. Told me I was on a wait list, they could not prioritize as an emergency, even though they did the work. Told me they only had so many people and too many calls and it would be five days??? In 95+ degree temps??? VERY POOR!!!
This summer has been one of the busiest summers for all air conditioning companies in years. We have been in what we call “stand by” mode for 6 weeks and this simply is the best and quickest way for us to service all our customers. Our customer service reps sometimes have a difficult time explaining this to a customer who wants to know an exact time that we will come. Normally, we give an exact day and time that we will arrive and we call ahead so a customer does not have to sit home and wait for us. We can give an hour or two notices so one can leave work and come home and meet us. In standby mode, we often can come the next day or sometimes late that day, but the customer needs to be flexible as we have techs all over town and if you are available and can meet us, you will get service right away. If you have to have a dedicated exact time we will come, that is where the 5 day wait time comes it. I listen to the tapes of customers calling in and many times, they just will not accept the flexible nature of stand by and they insist on a specific time like a doctor gives and we do have a wait time currently like every other a/c company during this long extended 90+ heat wave or like a doctor has. I apologize this was not explained to you properly, but if you will call back and ask for Mark Wall, he can get you serviced and repaired quickly. Thank you for your input, Dan Jape.
Lawrence was extremely nice and knowledgeable, and did a great job yesterday. Service was done quickly, and I couldn't be happier. Good job Lawrence!
Our technician Freddy Scott was extremely helpful and kind! Our indoor unit had several issues that he was able to diagnose and fix. Thanks Freddy!
We continue to use Reliable Heating and Air as they have demonstrated that they truly care about their customers. Today is no different. Mr. Harrison Nelson, who is a manager in the install department came to our rescue. We lost our air conditioning over the weekend. I have Lymphoma Cancer and can not do without AC very long. Mr. Harrison Nelson compassionately scheduled our install for late today, given my condition. I will forever be grateful for his caring attitude. It literally has saved the day. Because of Mr. Nelson and the other fine employees at Reliable, I highly recommend that you use their services whenever the need arrives. Sid Welch
I had Reliable HVAC out to perform regular maintenance on my AC. Their technician, Lawrence Overstreet, took the time to explain how my ac unit worked and also cleaned it well while performing his inspection. Thanks Lawrence!
I had to replace a 30 year old lennox sytem, a pricey endeavor. for what I had to spend, I would not settle for less than three quotes. RELIABLE was my third quote. the salesman was enjoyably candid and honest in his presentation, talked me out of all the bells and whistles I did not need. we closed the deal with my disappointment in having to wait 5 days for an installation, but after the salesman left, he kept on working on my behalf and had the system installed the next day. great salesman, perfect installation, no problems. absolutely great company and product.
Today Lawrence Overstreet came to do our annual check up on our heating & air units. I found him to be very knowledgeable & polite. He is definitely an asset to this company.
Have been using Reliable Heating and Air for several years. Twice yearly tuneups. Last serviceman said we did not need to change filters, but they should have been changed over a year ago. They were filthy. This maintenance expert was polite, friendly and worked diligently. Very disappointed with time frame. Was told after 1PM, I drove 85 miles to get to the house on time only to have him arrive at 7:30PM! Should have shorter time frames or give the customer better ideas of when to expect someone to show up.
