The bad service never ends. When Selling service agreement "filters are free" fast forward to time of service "filters are $60". When installing new AC, "no new drainage pipes needed". When... unclogging drainage pipes 3 months after installation, "here is a quote for the cost to install new drainage pipes. When taking the attic stairs and molding down to fit the new AC system they said "it will look like we never touched it once complete" After a week of the attack stairs and molding not being re-installed they were reinstalled without molding, now we have an unpainted square around the attack stairs. Their scheduling system has been down since yesterday, and I'm without air conditioning in July for an entire weekend. Lousy, incompetent business practices.
My upstairs A/C went out on a Saturday and I had someone come out on Monday to take a look. I had Casteel come out on Thursday to give me a quote on replacing the unit. The quote was reasonable and included a year of free maintenance on BOTH of my systems and a 10 year warranty. When they called to schedule the install for Tuesday, I was so disappointed that they couldn't come sooner. I had already been sleeping in the couch for days and now was going to have to continue through the weekend. When I expressed my issue, they offered to bring out a loaner window unit!! When they dropped it off, I realized that the unit was missing a piece to seal off the outside. I called Casteel back and they told me that they'd bring a new unit out after they bought it at Home Depot!! The install team arrived promptly Tuesday morning and the air was working a few hours later. They also helped move the drainage lines outside to help stop the erosion issue is been having. The team picked up after themselves and walked me through all of the documentation. I was so pleased with the level of service that Casteel has a new loyal customer!!
I needed six vents moved as part of a remodel. Got a quote and accepted. The installers showed up and did what I thought was a good job. I paid in full. 30 minutes later I bumped one of the returns and it came off of the main HVAC unit. The installers were unable to come back that day so another date was scheduled. They came and reattached the return. A few days later I discovered that one of the vents had not been moved, but instead a new one added. I called and a return date was scheduled for Wednesday 12-6. At 4:45PM I was called to let me know someone was on their way. Five minutes later I was contacted by the technician who had figured out he was not the right guy to do the work. Home office called me and was unable to send someone out that day, so I wasted a whole day waiting for them to come. This saga is not over yet, so I will probably update later Update 7/7. Casteel sent out their System Design Manager and QA manager this morning. The old vent was removed and the job is now complete. It took 4 visits but in the end they completed the job.
After having several bad experiences with another HVAC company, I did some research and decided to switch to Casteel. I scheduled a routine maintenance for my existing systems and was impressed with the technician. A few months later, I made the decision to finally replace my 35+ year old furnace in the basement and the associated air conditioning unit. Everything seemed fine at first; however, several weeks later my wife heard a slow drip of water coming from the room where the furnace was. The furnace had been installed with a cracked pipe and no pan underneath it, and there was water all over our basement floor that had also seeped into the wall and carpet on the other side of it. I will credit them for fixing the problem and getting a renovation company to dry everything out and do their best to repair the damage. Unfortunately, I can not give them even an average rating for botching the installation in the first place. Installing the system with a crack in the pipe is bad enough, but not even putting a pan underneath it to catch the water for just this type of situation is absolutely inexcusable.
It was a very good experience working with this company! You never know when you might have a waterline break in your house but if you do they are the people to call. They was at my house in a hour of contacting them and was very nice. We was very pleased and will use them again in the future, even for the heating an cooling.
I have used Casteel for many years. They have replaced both my heating units and recently one of my A/C units. Their service has always been excellent and the service personel above board in all respects. Cannot do enough for you and explain all aspects of the installation. I have an annual service agreement with Casteel as does my daughter at her house.I have recommended Casteel to many friends over the years as they are the best.
I had a complete HVAC system put in to replace my marginal old system. Some finesse was required and Casteel worked with me to get it done as I wanted to go from two systems to one zone controlled system and relocate the outdoor equipment. This saved enough to allow me to get the highest efficiency a/c and heat available from Trane within my budget. With temperatures now in the 90's it is functioning quite well.

The service technician arrived on time and, determined the problem and provided options for my approval. Work was performed in a highly professional manner explaining what he was doing to ease any possible concern I may have had (of which I had none). Highly recommended.

I'm out of $275 and still no air. I would not recommend them to anyone. Technician didn't show up until 8:40 pm after I had a service window of 2-6pm. He didn't call. I had to call him twice just to make sure he was still coming. I have another repairman coming tomorrow to fix what I already paid Casteel to fix.
If this is truly a customer and not a competitor, I would like to talk to you. Casteel's policy is to "take amazing care of you", and if our technician was unable to fix your problem, we certainly would not charge you for the repair. Additionally, we have one of the very best warranty programs in the industry, and we would have returned at no charge to fix this issue. We have been voted the best HVAC contractor by the Chamber for four years, and that's because we do things the right way. Our AC went out. After 2 other companies we called Casteel. Ryan came out and was very honest and upfront with us. He'd told us what needed to be done, and how much to do it. It wasn't cheap, but was cheaper than the other two companies. Plus we got rebates w/GA power. Put in a 4 ton heat pump and Var. speed furnace, w/thermostat. Looks and performs amazing! Install crew was very friendly, and spent all day doing it right! Would def. recommend Casteel!
Casteel was recommended to me when our A/C wasn't working. I called to set up an appointment, but was not informed that there was a service call fee of $79. The guy came out, was at my house for all of 15 minutes. He said the motor wasn't working so we needed a new one. He quoted me ~$1300 but suggested we get a new unit because it is 13 years old. After calling another company, he installed a new motor & charged us $520 including the cost of the motor. This price difference is too significant to me to consider using Casteel again.
