Choose Another Stable!, 4/26/2008

Tried a "lesson" at this place and it was not good. Definitely not worth the money!! The horses stalls were filthy - they looked like they were filled with mud. I felt so sorry for them. The... website says that they have trails on the property and an inside riding area but this is not the case. The students ride in a small ring or insde the small dusty barn. The instructor was a teenager with no qualifications to teach. The people who run the barn weren't even on the property. My daughter wanted to ride in a western saddle but they told her they only had one western saddle and it was for very small children. The area around the barn was so muddy that it was a challenge to get to the riding ring without destroying our shoes. Again, I just felt sorry for the horses. Choose another barn if you want lessons for your child. This was a pony ride - not a riding lesson and it was a total waste of money.

I'd recommend this place to anyone!, 4/22/2008

A friend of mine and I have taken our daughters to this stable for nearly a year now and are very happy with the instructors and the horses. Our daughters have learned a great deal and are... progressing rapidly in their knowledge. My daughter has already earned both girl scout horse badges. My child also has ADHD, but you wouldn't know it around the stables. She is very focused and the instructors handle her very well. I don't know where the complaining reviews came from. This place is great. They even gave my toddler a birthday horse ride for free!

Money Drain Lessons

We chose this barn for lessons and were very disappointed. The "one-on-one" lessons progressed at a snails pace since there was a different horse each time, a different instructor each time (some without any formal training), the lessons either started late or were stopped early, and the instructors felt no shame in chatting on their cell phones during lessons. I also did not like how the horses were picked for lessons on their being available to ride rather than the appropriate training level for the rider. My daughter never even learned how to tack or untack a horse after a few months riding. After addressing my concerns three different times, the same issues kept arising & I was told I was the only one complaining about the lessons. So, after spending $900 I saw very little difference in my daughter's riding ability or horsemanship.

Best decision I ever made

I signed my daughter up for riding lessons on a whim and it has been the best decision for her I ever made! Her instructers have helped her develop confidence and self esteem. She loves learning to ride different horses because then at camp and on trail rides, she can handle any mount she has. The coaches are always in a good mood, in contact with one another, very supportive, and accessible. My child has grown up a lot since starting lessons. Thank you Riding Coaches!

Finally a Great option in Smyrna

I was so glad to find a reasonable option for quality beginner riding instruction in Smyrna. They have a focus on safety, they offer both western and english options, and they don't try to make you buy into an expensive lesson package. I was especially impressed to find out the barn manager has a heart for rescuing horses, bringing them back to health and giving them a purpose in life.

Wonderful Trainer!

My daughter has been taking lessons at Vinings Equestrian Center for about 6 months. Prior to that, we had tried several local trainers, many of whom were no-shows at scheduled lessons, had no rapport with children, or didn't possess the experience necessary to teach. My daughter has finally found the confidence to progress in her lessons and achieve beautiful form and balance. We have experienced nothing but encouragement and professionalism at this barn.

Is this review even necessary?

I thought my daughter would benefit from special attention which I paid for here even though I was fore warned prior to trying this place. This program is well below average. Low budget, unorganized, and language is offensive. The instructor tried to pay good attention at first, but was too busy laughing and conversing with others to even give attention to my daughter. If that was not enough, and I am embarrassed to spend time to share this, but the instructor was not even knowledgeable enough to give me straight answers when asked. My heart was broken again watching my daughter patiently beg for attention while other unimportant social issues were at hand on my paid time. We have since found a small dance studio in Powder Springs which provides her with excellent attention that is not in others' business. Sour taste with the riding lessons for now, but may go elsewhere.
