love it!go there twice a year for christmas and the summer, never a long wait and good service.very comfy atmosphere
Ambiance and decor aside, the restaurant's fare leaves much to be desired. After being told about their excellent sushi I gave it a try. It was not good. A small step up from something offered... in a high-end grocery store deli. While the place is nice, it was unpleasantly crowded, overpriced, and generally not worth the effort.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
Nakama is one of Pittsburgh's newest Japanese table top cooking type of resturaunts. The Chefs are highly trained individuals who make the meal both entertaining and enjoyable. Many of Nakama's Chefs came from other Japanese Restuarants. The food is very good, and oh ya, they do serve the Japanese authentic "shrimp sauce" that is excellent over rice and stir fried vegtables. Its a fun and enjoyable day or night out for the entire family if you want to treat yourself to good food and a nice atmosphere.

Nakama has great food. The quality of the filet is fantastic and the tuna steak is my favorite dish on the menu. The dressing and sauces are good, but very inconsistent. I used to eat at Nakama once every week or two but have forced myself not to go the past few months. One of the managers, his name was Mark incase any of you had a similiar experience, was so extremely rude that I took my business elseware...no matter how much I liked the tuna. It's a shame :(
