I had some carpentry work done on my chimmney (siding and conerboard replacment). John Herrmann was very professional and did not pressure you for a signature. The only negative was the lack of... response to schedule the actual repair work. It took a couple of e-mails and phone calls before the schedule was set (3 weeks to be exact). Like the title states, it was worth the wait. The work was fabulous! I would recommend them and will use them again in the future.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
We used them to paint the exterior of our house. We also had to replace some window trim moulding, which they handled. Overall a very nice job. However, next time I'll move my patio furniture off... the deck. Paint spray residue covered the top of my table, so I had to spend some time scraping it clean afterward (hence 4 stars on service).VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
My name is Alan Hearn and I contracted Highland Park Painting several months ago to paint the exterior of my home. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the project manager and the crew. The work was done in a timely fashion and I could not have been more pleased with the results. I would recommend Highland Park Painting to all of my family, friends and business associates.
After moving from out of state into our home here we were upset to find that the kitchen cabinets were in much worse condition than we had thought. After extensive research we decided to paint our kitchen cabinets rather than resurface or replace. We have a large kitchen and the underlying cabinet wood was basically in good shape, however the previous owner had painted and repainted many coats and had used the wrong kinds of paint (a mixture of flat and glossy) and the hardware was a mess. We contracted with Highland Park and they did a fabulous job. They took only two days and sanded the doors in a way so that they look new. They also competently filled the old hardware holes so that we were able to have invisible hinges installed and the old holes do not show at all from the previous hinges or knob area. Despite having to work with oil-based paint for the project, they were neat and orderly. They also painted several trim pieces for me at no charge that I wanted painted for a carpenter to later install. Everyone who has come into our kitchen has thought that we had the cabinets resurfaced, they are beautiful and we are more than happy with the work done by Highland Park. They will be, without a doubt, the first place I call when we paint other areas of our home.
We had Highland Park paint our entire home and stain our deck as well as perform some carpentry work this past fall and were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and politeness of the staff. They started our job about a week after signing a contract. The crew that came out were diligent workers and were mindful of cleaning up after themselves. The head of the crew went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with the paint color choice, even going to Sherwin Williams to obtain samples to test on the siding of my home. I have nothing but positive feedback concerning this company.
Excellent one-stop service. Work included exterior painting and major repairs. Highland Park Services did the repairs which were coordinated with the Highland Park Painting. The work took four consecutive days. Showed up on time and completed on schedule. I got several quotes for both the repairs and painting, Highland Park was the only one that quoted the entire job, and their price was substantially less than others. Of course, there were a couple of minor "nits" which were corrected BEFORE the completion of the work. Two years later, my house still looks freshly painted.
Brian and his crew did a fabulous job at a great value. We loved having them in our home and look forward to working with them again in the future.
Great assessment of need and the crew was clean and efective. After the job was finished(deck stain)I had some concern about stain coverage. Because the crew was so busy it took a couple of weeks to redo the job, which was okay because Keith kept me informed, but when done it was well done.
When I called I got quick estimate, friendly and honest sales staff. They did the work on schedule,(weather permitting) and finished on time. Worked around my needs and wants without question. Highly recommended to any home needs.
Highland Park did a great job on painting the exterior of our home. Keith, who bid the job for us, explained everything to us and there were no surprises. Vicente's crew who did the work were GREAT! Having never had a home painted, I was concerned about lots of things. They were very patient and explained the whole process and even came back to explain things after the job was done! They cleaned everything up when they were finished every day and at the end the house looks better than ever...even the neighbors are impressed!! We were VERY pleased and would highly recommend Highland Park!
Highland Park Painting gave me a fair price and stuck by their quote. They did an excellent job on the repairs and the painting. The best part was they cleaned up everyday, I never was left with a mess. I have used them before and I will continue to use them. Very good work.
We scheduled Highland Park for exterior painting on our house. They gave us three days they would need access to our property. The first day, we boarded our pet to avoid any disruption to their service. They sent a contractor who did not arrive until 5:15 p.m. to pressure wash the house before beginning the painting. Money wasted on our part from the outset. We called to verify workers compensation coverage on the people who would be on our property, and could not get the company to verify that the workers (contractors) who would be on our job would have adequate coverage. When we pressed for an answer to our question (Are these contractors who will be on our property, or true employees? If contractors, can you provide us a certificate of coverage?) the representative (owner?) told us he would just stop the job right now (the night before painting was to begin) and he would refund our deposit. Once again, we have made arrangements to board our pet for no reason - more wasted $$. We have heard good reports of the work done by Highland Park, but I question their business practices if they are unwilling to provide a certificate of coverage on their contracts. If they are *unable* to do so, I have even bigger questions about the company. We have decided to pursue a contract with a service provider who understands risk management and can provide proof of insurance for all workers on the job.
I hired them even though they charged more than the other estimates I received because they said they would remove wallpaper before painting. They did in one-half but painted over paper in the other half. I would never use them again.
We had Highland Park paint the exterior of our house and pressure wash the roof. They also referred us to a very good carpenter to repair some bad siding before the painting started All the work by both the in-house staff and the work crews was very prompt and professional. It was on schedule and done for a very reasonable cost. The crews always cleaned up the entire area at the end of every day. The yard looked better when they left than when they arrived. We were extremely pleased and fully recommend them.
For my first appt for estimate, the guy didn't show up. Second appt, the guy said he would have estimate for me by that afternoon. I never heard from him. Phoned him a week later and he assured me he would deliver an estimate. It never came. I tried calling to complain and for two days no one answered their business line. When I finally reached someone,my complaint was received with indifference. This was all while just trying to get an estimate! Very poor service indeed!
The first time I used Highland Park I was very pleased. Not so this time. The painters were adequate but the manager only stopped by twice- each time at my insistence- and never showed for a final walk through. I should have paid the painters directly since I ended up being foreman on the job. The painters were agreeable to fixing the obvious errors, but I shouldn't have had to point them out in the first place. Isn't that why I paid Highland Park? It took three calls to get them to come back and unstick windows.
I called to get an estimate on painting the exterior of my home. I was impressed with the estimator & price and asked for insurance information and references - which I got. I was also pleased at the price I was given. I had chosen this company to do the work - if the references checked out. I picked up the 8+ pages of references listing customer's names/addresses/phone numbers (personally, I wouldn't want this information handed out with my name & info on it). There were probably more than 400 names to select from. I chose 4 names at random. Three numbers had been disconnected. One answered my call. Her comment was 'It was so long ago that I had my house painted that I couldn't tell you who painted my house - but they did a great job. But I don't even live in that house anymore'. I decided not make any more calls from this extensive list. I called the estimator (twice) and each time asked for 4 names/numbers of current exterior paint work. I still haven't gotten this information. I refuse to ask again. I'll take my business elsewhere.
Paid $6000 for interior painting, which was not a bad price for the work, but I quickly found out why. Manager showed up late on the first day of the job, did a walk through, and disappeared. Never heard from him since. Left me for days with a crew that spoke little English and had even less painting skills. Prep work was nonexistent, brush work and cleanup were sloppy. Service did not live up to the promised quote. The crew was very hard working, and willing to go back and fix problems or do touch ups when I asked for it, but didn't have the abilities, knowledge, or experience to do a good job. I can prep and paint better than any of these guys, which isn't saying much.
