just average for me, 6/22/2013

I have been riding for many years but had been out of the loop for a while and needed a refresher in riding and she was first trainer I had that really did not give much feed back. I rode with a... group and when I was having trouble or if my horse was not cooperating she would just laugh and not really help out to correct the issue and just move on to another rider. The horses are just so so... some are very stubborn and others are jumpy. Didn't work for me. Wish it did since it was soo close to my house and Dana seems very nice and easy going. I would not recommend Dana for beginners but for experienced riders that do not need instruction. It is a really nice facility.

Great trainer, great horses, great location!, 12/01/2008

I have ridden in Atlanta my entire life but took a break after college. When I wanted to get back into it, I looked for something close to my house in Grant Park and came across Dana. I have been... riding with her for several years now and cannot say enough great things! She is very knowledgable and a lot of fun. She has a nice mix of horses for every level. Her students are great and we all have a lot of fun together without the drama you find at a lot of barns. Her facility has all the necessities but is very laid-back...and it is only about 15 minutes from my house! I would definitely recommend her, especially for adult re-riders and teens that are looking for solid hunter/jumper basics.

Taught Me Everything I know...

Dana and her horses taught me everything I know! She's an excellent teacher, and I've always had a blast during my lessons. Unlike a lot of trainers I've seen, who focus on apperances over functionality and teaching a correct seat, Dana teaches you how to RIDE, not just be a passenger on a dead-broke lesson pony. I feel like I've been given the skills to apply to any horse. Highly reccomend for the adult rider looking to learn or come back to horses after an abscence from riding.

Quality Instruction for the Competitor or Hobbyist

Dana McDaniel, with her education, experience, and love of riding, offers IN-TOWN riding lessons and a riding program of remarkable quality. Whether you want to pursue riding on the competitive circuit or want to participate as a skilled hobbyist, Dana will guide you in your skill development. By finding out what *your* goals and desires are, she develops a program that challenges you. I can't recommend her and her horses highly enough, for both adult and child riders. Additionally, becuase this is her passion and she does not own a full-time working stables, her attention is solely focused on her riders improvement rather than the endless hours involved in keeping an operation afloat. When she's with her students, she's 100% with her students.

Great training, nice horse, wonderful location!

I have ridden horses my entire life. Growing up here in Atlanta I used to ride up north of the city in places that are now huge subdivisions. When I moved back here after college and bought a house in-town, it appeared at first glance that I was going to have to go at least an hour north (without traffic!)to ride. Then I found Dana and the Atlanta Riding Academy. First of all, the location cannot be beat! Less then 10 miles from my house! Second of all, Dana and her horses are wonderful. It is clear that she is very experienced and very caring towards both her students and her horses. She will push you without ever over-facing you, teach you a ton, and most of all...always make sure you have fun! She has also created the Atlanta Jump Club, which is a "club" consisting of her adult riders. We get together about once a month for dinner, drinks, and horse talk! We also attend clinics, help each other out at shows, volunteer at horse rescues, etc. It is so nice to have a group of friends that I can share my love of horses with! If you are looking for a great trainer in Atlanta, definitely give Dana a call, she is the best!

Very knowledgeable and Flexible

Dana is very knowledgeable and flexible. She is actually educated and certified and will work with pretty much anyone. Although she specializes in Hunters she will take on clients in other disciplines as well as behavioral issues. She is very professional and has safe and healthy schooling ponies and horses available. She is located intown and is accessible to people who do not want to drive 45 minutes outside Atlanta for lessons or training. She accepts adults as well as children for students
