Nothing but theives!, 9/16/2008

This group likes to make over the phone quotes for moving and then add to the cost when you are loading onto their trucks. We were promised a certain type of truck and ability of movers and that did... not occur. Promised a Moving truck and sent a freight truck. Thus losing over 20% of load capacity! So we got charged with a second truck. Additionally, watch your inventory carefully. Reminded them on a couple of items that they needed to be tagged and when asked at the end of loading we were promised that the items were tagged. Upon delivery (which was on two seperate days due to splitting our load) these items never appeared. When called, all they said is that since it isn't on the inventory, we are out of luck! Company and employees are just theives. Employees basically extort a big tip from you on both ends!!!! Promising to help and take care of things, then calling their office to increase the charges! DON'T USE, DON'T USE, DON'T USE! I hope they go out of business!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! USE ANOTHER COMPANY STAY AWAY! THIS WAS ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES WE'VE EVER HAD IN OUR LIVES AND WE'VE MOVED 3 TIMES WITH LOCAL COMPANIES IN TOWN. WE MOVED RECENTLY... FROM CA, TO IDAHO. BEFORE OUR MOVING DATE THE COMPANY KEPT CALLING REMINDING US ABOUT THE MOVE GIVING US THE WRONG DATE 3 TIMES!! THE DRIVERS SHOWED UP 3 HOURS LATE, THE TOTAL WAS $700.00 MORE THAN IN THE ORIGINAL CONTRACT. THE DRIVER WAS VERY RUDE, BARELY SPOKE ANY ENGLISH AND HANDLED OUR MERCHANDISE VERY ROUGH AND DEMANDED A TIP, ASKING FOR 20%. THE STUFF FINALLY ARRIVED ONE WEEK LATER THAN WE WERE TOLD...AND IT GETS BETTER. WE ESTIMATED AROUND $800.00 OF LOST MERCHANDISE AND DAMAGE. WE STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN WORD BACK ABOUT OUR LOST MERCHANDISE AND IT HAS BEEN 2 MONTHS NOW. WHEN WE CALLED IN THE PERSON WHO WAS OUR CONTACT WOULD NOT FORWARD US TO A MANAGER, OR OWNER AND JUST LAUGHED IT OFF. GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, THE POSITIVE REVIEWS YOUR READING BELOW ARE POSTED BY COMPANY EMPLOYEES, SAVE YOURSELF THE PROBLEMS AND RESEARCH AND FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!

Terrible Moving Company

i moved from california to florida and it has been a !@$#ing nightmare with this company. no one communicates with you and the customer service is basically non-existent. highlights:\r\r1. initial estimate is reasonable, very friendly people...UNTIL the driver arrives at your house and demands that you sit down immediately to sign/pay. that is the only thing they are interested in. during this time, the estimate doubles as the driver visually reviews your items. word to the wise, pack as much as you can in ONE BOX or they will charge you (by count).\r\r2. this is the biggest bait and swith piece. the driver will ask you what day can you begin to receive your items...implying that is when you will get them. the reality is 9-16 days from that date (or more!) is when you will actually have a chance to get your things. i moved on mid-August and will not recieve my things until mid-September. i have nothing to sleep on, only the clothes i managed to bring on the plane, and the only thing Hercules can say is: ""we're waiting on a truck""\r\r3. if the driver is going to be late, he will call you Sunday afternoon, after making you wait all weekend. then when they do arrive, the legs to your table will be missing...""maybe they're at the warehouse""\r\ri will NEVER use this company again, and i DO NOT recommend anyone else does...unless you don't mind waiting a month for your belongings.

Estimate much lower than actual, bad customer service

Our 3 bedroom house move to another one 20 miles away in the east bay ended up costing $2,000 more, even though the only pieces of furniture that weren't originally tallied were 2 coffee tables, 2 lamps and a bookcase. They insisted on retaping the corners of all our tables, and consequently added the costs of tape and padding, etc to the final bill. We had a money order made out for the estimate + cash for tip but when they gave us the much inflated final bill they held the last 1/3 of our stuff hostage on the truck and wouldn't unload it until my dad came back with the money for the rest...which delayed the move longer. And then when I tried going over the bill with the manager over the phone, he was pretty rude and kept putting me on hold to talk to other callers (all of which I could hear) coming into another phone line. \r\rI realize that moving estimates can never be 100% exact but these guys had the worst customer service practices of any movers I've ever used (and I've moved quite a bit in the last decade)...could've just been the attitude of the specific moving foreman but the office wasn't apologetic at all over the phone. They actually told me that they were inclined to believe their own guys over my account. Maybe large companies feel they don't need professionalism when they don't need referrals, I don't know. Attitude goes a long way and is a large part of a couple really good experiences I've had with other movers. I certainly won't be using Hercules again.
