I have shopped at OPT many times and found the staff helpful, polite and knowledgeable. I have worked with both the sales staff and via their website and found their quick replies and advise extremely helpful. When entering their store, you are bombarded with the vast variety of telescopes and mounts, camera equipment and accessories for eyepieces. It is a fairly large store and upon entering I was greeted very politely and asked if I needed any help. I inquired about the Nexstar 8 I had been looking at as a first serious purchase with the possibility of getting a beginning imager. The sales person let me know exactly what I needed regarding adapters, cables to computer hook ups and...
Really great advice and the staff seems to be very knowledgeable about all their products!
They still can fix old-school mechanical cameras
The only local place I'd take my 35mm film stuff (my digicams are mostly disposable anyway). I've actually had them clean, lube, and realign vintage Nikkor lenses with great results. I've also had them rebuild Kodak carousel projectors and have been very happy with the results. I shoot film less and less now, but when I need photo gear fixed I take it to Kurt's.
Good Camera Store
Here's a good camera shop to check out many name brand cameras, camcorders and accessories. Prices are excellent on some items. Service is good and classes are often offered on the specific camera you purchase.
Excellent Service and Quality!
I've had two fantastic experiences with 30 minute photos, and specifically its "Scan My Photos" service, which digitizes old photos. Just last week I had over 600 photos scanned for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, and the output was fantastic. In just 2 days (I ordered rush because I procrastinated), I received a high quality CD with all of the images, plus a Kodak Picture Movie, which I LOVE, and a photo book with all of the thumbnails. I would highly recommend anyone to trust their precious memories to 30 Minute Photos/Scan My Photos for all of their Photo Needs. I know I'll continue to use them. Thanks Mitch, and the entire staff!
