more options in channels
We never had trouble. We even got the DVR since we were new customers. We liked them so much we signed up for the high speed internet with Dish as well, which has also been fantastic. Dish also had so many more options in chanels than other providers and offered better rates for packages.
the good news
In fairness, Dish does has a good DVR system and a very good iPhone application that allows you to record individual shows or series remotely. This last remote feature is one of the best things Dish does to make off-site show recording easy. That is the good news.
Premium channels are offered
I get about 250 channels, plus another 50-60 satellite radio channels for about $52 a month (I do pay an extra $5 for a second box). Premium channels are offered at an additional cost starting at about $12 a month for one. Discounts are extended when you combine premium channels.
HD recievers work great
The equipment that Dish uses is very nice. Their dvr's work very well and have adequite storage space for programs. They have many HD channels and their HD recievers work great. If you have a problem with your reciever they are more than happy to provide techinical assistance or send you a new one.
extremely knowledgeable about Dish
I recently switched to Dish Network. It took almost a month to get an installation date, but I attribute that the change to digital TV in 2009. The installer that came to my house was from the East St. Louis area, working in Springfield to help the installers there complete all of their jobs. He brought a trainee with him that was also from East St. Louis. They were both very friendly and the main installer was extremely knowledgeable about Dish.
