Best place to stay...
My husband and I just left The Addison on Amelia Islands... It truly was the most amazing vacation we have ever taken, and much of that has to do with The Addison! Bob and Shannon were so hospitable and made us feel as if we were right at home! Breakfast in the morning was like no-other and when it came to dinner, Bob gave us his suggestions... Needless to say, he was spot on! The Inn is within walking distance to the downtown area; which has some of the most unique shops, restaurants, bars, etc... Our room, including our private bathroom, was so clean and refreshing!! We didn't want to leave, but had to... Either way - We will definitely be back to Amelia Islands and most...
I love this B&B which is housed in an old carriage house. The rooms and furnishings reflect the age of the building; everything is clean and comfortable but you still get a sense of history here. Prices are less than I'd expect for this location.
Manages to give you modern conveniences but also a sense of history. Located beside the Lightner Museum and Flagler College. A block from the Trolley Tour route.
Not as historic as it used to be
I used to go to the St. Francis when it looked and felt much like it did in the late 1800's - with the addition of airconditioning, electricity and bathrooms. I LOVED it! The new owners gutted the building and made the Inn much more upscale but in my opinion it lost much of its charm. However, if you want elegance and service, this place is awesome.
The location is great. The Inn has twelve rooms decorated in differing styles; each has a Jacuzzi in its private bath. Price is a bit high but not out of the norm for the area.
