Nice atmosphere and food
What I like about this restaurant is the nice little authentic italian feeling right at Hawaii kai marina. On top of that the combination of appetizers, entrees and the wine selection is fabulous. They just need to work on the price and slow service on Saturdays.
upscale look - good value take out
A take out has popped up in a downtown location that used to be a full service restaurant. The upscale look as part of the First Hawaiian Bank remains, but it is now more of a take-out with some seating. I was slightly confused by the menu of about everything - hot lunch, pizza salad, sandwiches, soup, espresso and I think even pastries. I would like to see some downsizing work to make it easier to order. But once I figured out what I wanted I really liked the quality and the full taste. I had the shoyu chicken one day and the stuffed bell peppers at my second visit. Compliments to the cook(s?). I'll be back.
Questionable "quality ingredients"
Been there-MIGHT go again. Generally good, but they insist on using farmed (not real) salmon. Yes, I know it sez "organic", but that means nothing. In U.S., "certified Organic" is real.--"organic" is not. Fatty, mushy, artificially dyed, louse-ridden, no flavor. "Nuff said
"Last honest pizza"-for sure!
Old, established parlor in Kailua. Uses RT name, but better than any other RT. Excellent quality ingredients, fast service, always friendly folks, affordable prices.
My husband and I found our favorite musician (guy imoto) was playing there. We went several times and each visit was very special. we are senior citizens and felt very welcome. Everyone was very nice. the music was outstanding and the hamburgers were heavenly. It is very convenient to The Bus. We will visit again this 2010 winter season. we hope you still feature Hawaiian music.
