I can remember this place when I was young. They always have the best burgers and fries...and yes the grease is what makes them good. Not good for u...
Delicious food in gorgeous setting
If the Buffalo Grill's soft opening is a preview of what's to come from chefs Vincent Waide and Logan McGear, the bar on fine dining in the Four States has just been raised. Pasta, steaks & chops, bison, chicken, salmon, cheesecake... All of this is prepared to perfection and served on tables set with elegant black and white linens in a beautifully restored building located in the Fort Scott historic district, a block from the 1842 frontier fort that is now a National Park. This bistro will give Crestwood (Pittsburg) and Crabby's (Joplin) a run for their money. Full bar. Open Tues-Sat, dinner only. Reservations accepted. Dress, casual.
A Southeast Kansas tradition
Jim's Steakhouse is owned and run the by the Castagno family and has been in business for about 70 years. There may be a token pasta or chicken dish on the menu, but what people really come for is the beef. While several cuts are available, the two most popular choices are the sirloin tips and the tenderloin filet. The 14 oz of tips cost about $15, and the small (8 oz) filet is just over $20. Price includes bread, salad and starch. Steaks are served with either baked potato, fries or spaghetti. Those who are counting carbs may substitute cottage cheese. The side salad is made of Iceberg lettuce with the trademark slice of beet on top. Nothing extraordinary, but it's always crisp...
New Delivery/Carryout store rocks!
This store has moved from it's old dingy and scary looking location on E. 4th Street to a shiny new building on Broadway. What a difference! Not only is the building nicer (understatement) but the food and service seem to have improved as well. We typically do carryout on the way home from work, and it is always ready when they tell me and the quality is great. Have ordered from here a lot over the past several months and have no complaints.
The best chicken in Kansas. Great help and always making sure the customers are satisified. You can afford to feed a crowd.
